  1. I haven't tried them on T-Rigs or buzzbaits - they're my first pick though for swim jigs and spinners/chatters.
  2. Ya - 4" on 3/8oz swim jigs
  3. This was my best jig-trailer producer the past year. Second best was the RI Skinny Dipper.
  4. I've had to work with M.E.K. at one of my jobs - not something you want to breathe in, get on the skin or worse in the eyes. We had to wear air-respirators, goggles, lab-coats and gloves when working with it.
  5. Ya, everything I've read indicates that FC just starts stretching later than the same pound-test of nylon-mono. It'll stretch just as much...just takes more force to start that stretch process.
  6. Echo the above - spinning for finesse and wacky at least. My arsenal is 5 casting, 5 spinning...and they all get used based on the situation.
  7. I kept volunteering for the northern-tier bases - Loring, KI Sawyer, Grand Forks, etc - where they WANTED people. Never got it approved.
  8. Maybe a bad one? All of my spinning reels are graphite-frame - I haven't had that issue, even when pulling in 4#-6# pike.
  9. There's a reason I take my panfish box with me even in the canoe. Hook, bobber, worm...bam - even a 6" sunny keeps me from being completely skunked.
  10. Wife and I 'cut the cable' ten years ago. Since transferring the home phone number to her cell-phone, we even cut that landline. Only thing we have left is internet. We don't miss it. Can get things online or through Netflix easy enough. We even have Amazon Prime for streaming their content. Plenty out there without paying through the nose for sub-standard content.
  11. I get a kick out of the quote "This is a very unique braking system" Ummm...there's a number of other manufacturers who have the dual system...my Pflueger Patriarch has it for example.
  12. In the metro area it ranges from 4" to 12" - by me it's about 10"
  13. I can tell you that even here in MN, weeds can choke parts of large lakes and even completely cover small lakes. Four months of ice-cover does nothing to stop it. A week or two down there isn't going to affect it much.
  14. Since I fish solo - everyone in the canoe.
  15. His and my experiences differ - I got 'stuck' there for 4 years, courtesy USAF - hated it...couldn't wait until I got discharged and skedaddled out of the state ASAP.
  16. I've ordered from them several times. Quick service, accurate descriptions...they're one of my regular shopping places.
  17. For me it was my dad - for same reasons you state - and my grand-uncle John who taught me how to shoot guns responsibly and developed my interest in hunting.
  18. Ya - I wouldn't either - just pointing out that there are other reels that are that light The most I've paid for any of my reels was one of my Fuego-CTs - $84 Even my $200 Patriarch I only paid $70 for - used from Legacy.
  19. To me - while disappointing, it 'just is'. Being skunked happens now and then to even the best. If I get skunked, I sigh, go back home and hope my next outing is better...that's it. To me it doesn't crush my hopes or 'build character'...it just happens occasionally.
  20. It's coming out next month for sale - Abu Garcia Zenon. The 20 size is only 4.9oz - but at $500...it's not a cheap reel. https://www.nationalwalleyetour.com/abu-garcia-introduces-the-worlds-lightest-spinning-reel-the-sub-5-ounce-zenon/
  21. Buddy of mine in college was from Ottawa, IL. Spring break one year we spent at his place and fished the Fox - was pretty good from what I remember...course that was the late 70s, so things might have changed since then.
  22. I would take more trips to the store (B&M or online), but my wallet has nothing but cobwebs and moths in it now.
  23. I don't know about Tom, but I don't even let braid sit tied more than a day...so all line types.
  24. Might be okay - all depends on Nora here. She just got home 11pm yesterday from 4-1/2 weeks in hospital/physical therapy facility. She's probably going to need quite a bit of help the first few days...but I'll see if she can do without me for at least a bit of it.
