  1. What he said - two of my BC rigs have 12# YZH on them.
  2. I don't remember even rigging up a Senko this year.
  3. My two best bass this year came on the same lure-combo...though different colors Strike King Swim Jig in 3/8 / Berkley Pit Boss First on a Green Pumpkin / Green Haze Second on a Sexy Shad / Skeet's Chartreuse Shad
  4. Budgetary restrictions play a heavy role. I get what I can at the best price I can. My best rods are a pair of Furys that I got on sale for under $100 each. Rest of my rods are what's considered 'budget' rods. I'm happy - at least I get out fishing when I can.
  5. I'd use a good model paint myself. Humbrol or Tamiya...Model Masters if you can find it - check your local hobby shop.
  6. I'm no spring chicken - next B-Day is #61
  7. More than that Gallon=128oz Divide by 4=32 32 * $10 = $320 buying it in 4oz bottles 4oz bottles = $2.50/oz 16oz bottles = $1.25/oz (how I get it) Gallon jugs = $0.625/oz So buying by the gallon, you pay 1/4 the price of buying it by the 4oz bottles.
  8. Make sure to get detailed pics of those tire-tread marks. More evidence of mis-handling.
  9. Step one - contact Fed-Ex customer service and e-mail the pics to them. Start the ball rolling in their court.
  10. Take pictures - this one works for 'un-opened' - and document as you unpack. If they're good, no problems - if they're broken, you got picture evidence for requesting 'Replacement due to shipper error'.
  11. If I'm not burning it I keep the rod-tip up at about 2 O'Clock...helps keep the nose up and the tail spinning. This is for both the Plopper-90 and Berkley Choppo-90.
  12. Tackle Warehouse has it in 4oz, 16oz and gallon sizes https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Kevin_VanDams_Fishing_Line__Lure_Conditioner/descpage-VDLL.html
  13. I use to get a pound of whole-bean from my MIL every year for Yule. Great stuff, worth the price...if I could afford it now.
  14. I can't remember back that far...
  15. Long as it ain't 'Blue Mountain'. That stuff is WAY out of my budget.
  16. Personally - I'd use a smaller worm if that's happening with that frequency. Maybe a Zoom Zlinky (5") or Finesse Worm (4.5") cause it sounds like they're 'short' biting.
  17. Z-Man Slim SwimZ, Zoom Tiny Fluke or Zoom Z-Swim 3.8 on a Ned, Shakey or Finesse jig
  18. Happy Birthday, man.
  19. Go back to Win-7? Truly - I tried 10...it sucked. I'm on 7 until my computer finally gives up the ghost...then it'll be my tablet.
  20. Ya - Double-Uni is my go-to for all line joins...backing to mainline or mainline to leader. Any breakoffs I've had have left the knot intact and a few inches of leader hanging on - so it's the leader breaking. With aging fingers and only one working eye, the FG and Alberto are a bit too difficult for me to tie, especially in a rocking canoe.
  21. Is it slipping out of the knot or is it breaking off somewhere between the knot and the lure/hook? If it's slipping - maybe a different knot. If it's breaking - that's why you use a leader - so it breaks off instead of breaking the rod. You snag something solid with a leader - you're going to loose the leader...it's just how it is.
  22. Our own Delaware Valley Tackle (see side-bar) makes custom rods.
  23. Got our property taxes back and the wife said "How about $100 for each of us from it?" So perusing about and ordered 3 packs of Zoom Fluke Tail Goby baits - 3 colors. Should have them by Friday.
  24. With friends like that....
  25. Deep salt-water fish on spinning gear? You betcha. Baitcasters aren't the be-all/end-all for big fish. Just gotta get the RIGHT spinning gear for them.
