  1. Probably - but then the parts for the conversion would put me over my budget for a single reel...I'll stick with the Fuego for now.
  2. Ya - the ones I'm looking at don't have a flat surface...there-fore the protruding screws aren't as much of an issue.
  3. Or just replace the bunks entirely with these babys. https://www.ultimatebunkboards.com/store/original-bunk-boards
  4. So out of my budget then. I'd get a Tat-100 if it came with a standard aperture...that's 'barely' within my budget.
  5. I've gotten both my Fuegos from Amazon for under $90 - well, one was a Yule gift so free. I'd check there before DSG.
  6. Any trebles I replace I do so with Owner ST-36 - they've been great so far, why change when it works.
  7. Where are you finding Tatula 100s without the T-Wing? Everyplace I look, the only 100s they got have the T-Wing. Far as I know, everything from the Tatula CT up has the T-Wing...Fuego CT is the 'top' model with a standard aperture. And really the only difference between the Fuego CT and Tatula CT is the T-Wing...Tatula advertises two more bearings - but they're in the handle knobs, so nothing different internally far as bearings go.
  8. I'm actually looking at getting these for the canoe trailer. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XY7FP4D/?coliid=I18B10P4KTM8DD&colid=2E9NGXX9EJHN4&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
  9. Ya, but you still got the Aird-X rated higher than the Eagle, buddy. Unless you got your symbols switched around.
  10. Another DSG purchase there - TW also carries them.
  11. I can vouch for them - 4 of my 10 rigs are on Aird-X rods and I've been very pleased with them. Ya, but he's looking for short rods - my experience with Aird-X's is that the shorter rods are closer to the stated power/action.
  12. Them two there would end up in my freezer! Nice day when you get some fish on.
  13. All depends on where/how you're fishing. I'm out of a canoe, so it's a short handled Ranger Bass and Trout 2200 that I picked up at DSG. Would probably be good for shore fishing as well, but if you're out of a boat I'd go for a longer handle.
  14. Any bass, pike, walleye I land with a net first off. Then use a Rapala gripper when removing hooks. Cheap and it's been reliable so far. I also use one of two pairs of pliers to remove the hooks...first one for most of them, the second for deep (gut hooked) lures.
  15. Best wishes for a favorable outcome all around.
  16. On my BCs - no matter what I'm using as mainline, I back it up with half the spool filled with cheap mono. Big Game 10# is what I'm using for backing currently.
  17. Best turtle soup I had was from a snapper a few of us caught when I was at Boy Scout camp....many, many, many moons ago.
  18. Yes there is...Diawa Aird-X 6'6" MH/F (AIRX661MHFB) is what I'd go with.
  19. Go with the Fuego - I have one on an Aird-X and it's a very enjoyable combo.
  20. Not an option on the lake I fish. The entire shoreline in the area I fish is developed one way or another. From million+ dollar homes to parks to ritzy dining establishments and exclusive country clubs. Only option I'd have is to go to one of the launches and use the porta-potty set up there...and hope it's close enough to make it.
  21. Yep - which is how I've been spooling up spinning reels for over 50 years, ever since I got a Garcia-Mitchell 320 as a Christmas gift in 1967. Still do it the same way today with my new Pfluegers.
  22. They do show that - but to keep line twist off spinning reels, you really need to spool it free-form. Wind the line on the reel the same way it comes off the source. Pulling line off the source the way those stations set it up will add twist to the line on the reel.
  23. Okay - that's part of the problem right there. You're using a station designed for a baitcaster to spool up a spinning reel and that'll contribute to line twist. Here's a vid that @Glenndid on how to properly spool up a spinning reel.
  24. For that price? A SCUBA tank and regulator seems more appropriate. (NAUI Certified since 1977)
  25. If when you pull line off the spool and it seems to turn on it's own while hanging limp - you got twist. Same cure as loosely spooled - pull a good length off and re-wind it on the spool letting the free end turn as it wants. Might have to undo some minor tangles before it gets to your tension weight (that book mentioned earlier).
