  1. Yep - Murphy's is my brew of choice.
  2. Canoe guy here Sun Dolphin Grumman Old Town Last two, I could afford if I won the lottery...not even the top prize...just something to let me buy a bigger/better canoe.
  3. I'm one of those 'once in a while' drinker...and when I do down a brew, it's Irish Stout Ale...beer is just too 'watered down' for my taste.
  4. Only think I track really is basic history. Date, Time, Rig, Lure, Species, Weight/Length. Just a list to show what I've caught, not for 'predicting' purposes.
  5. One can only hope that it's sooner. Of course here it's 93 days to bass opener...
  6. Well, I used 50# Power Pro on the H/F Aird-X and 20# Power Pro on my MH/F Aird-X and I didn't find any grooving on either at my end-of-year check...so they held up well. That's all I've used, so I don't know about the difference between 4 and 8 carrier.
  7. Well, down from the Fury - you can keep to Dobyns and get a Colt ($80) - A CL704C or CL734C...both are H/F rods, 7'0" and 7'3" respectively. Or down a bit more to the rod I use for frogging - Diawa Aird-X ($55) - AIRX701HFB...H/F and 7'0" I was well satisfied with my Aird-X for not only frogs, but pitch/flip and heavy jigs/T-Rigs as well.
  8. Ya, we'll leave the pink for @A-Jay's PFD - Lynn wears the Mustang... (Pic copied from an A-Jay post)
  9. Until I got a dedicated crankbait rod, I threw them on the same rod as my chatter/spinnerbaits. 7' Aird-X MH/F...though if you're tossing smaller ones, a M/F would probably work as well. For a Mod rod - a Dobyns Colt 705CB is just a little over your range - $79
  10. This was talked about in another thread - starting at this comment where the rule change link was posted.
  11. Way out of my budget, Fry-man...especially since I got a pair of Furys this year.
  12. This vid has someone who compares the EK7000 to a Go Pro Hero 5. Testing starts at 8:30, conclusions at 14:38. He actually likes it and gives it a good rating for a budget camera. I don't trust Amazon's ratings or reviews...which is why I look elsewhere for those. Especially since it's unusable when it's in the waterproof case...
  13. Ya, the main difference between the Pro and the standard model is that the Pro has a touch-screen.
  14. One that gets consistant good reviews - especially for an 'entry level action camera' is the AKASO EK7000. At just over $50, it's the one I got...well two of them...to start my own V-Blogging. A clip mount so I can clip one to the strap of my PFD And a clamp mount that will clamp to my work-table. I'll be connecting one camera to my main battery through a USB socket and the other will run off a 10,000 mAh power pack in the pocket of my PFD. Total cost...under $150.
  15. Or you can do what I'm doing. I'm installing a small electrical panel in the canoe that has two switches, one for the fishfinder power and another that goes to this which will also be mounted in the panel. USB Power Socket Power will come from the two accessory ports on my MinnKota power center - one port to the finder, the other port to this. I'll run my tablet and one camera from this....ya, I'm going to be doing V-Blogging. The other camera - worn - will be attached to a 10,000 mAh power pack in my PFD's pocket. Since I'm rarely out for more than 4 hours, a single 32gb card in each should be more than sufficient. And yes, I have video editing software already. Would an 8TB (8000gb) external drive be enough for you? https://www.microcenter.com/product/504336/seagate-expansion-8tb-usb-31-(gen-1-type-a)-35-desktop-external-hard-drive---black That's 250 32gb cards worth.
  16. Looked narrower than that - I withdraw my observation
  17. Only thing I'd consider is the narrow space between the cockpit and gunwale - have to squeeze through there to get to the front. I like the removable cushions up front...makes it easy to turn from pleasure cruiser to casting deck.
  18. The app is free - the maps cost the $20. But that gives you the entire US in the same sector grids as the USGS maps, so you only download the section(s) you need. It does have GPS location, waypoint setting and a recording function. This is my trip of July 31 where I caught my best-of-the-year...the one in my profile pic.
  19. Might want to post this in the Minnesota 2020 season thread - most of us living here follow that one. I don't use glide baits, but I'm sure one of the others does.
  20. I'd stay away from the CR-80 and CC-80 - they're both 'plastic' framed. Replace those with the CA-80 - same design, but on an aluminum frame. $78 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QW2XB19/ref=twister_B07TCB5VGK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
  21. Those are very strange ratings - my Diawa UL is rated 1/32-1/4. My Dobyns ML is rated 1/8-1/2, my Avocet ML 1/8-5/8. That 1/16-1/4 looks more like a Light than an Ultra-Light.
  22. I can attest to this. When I lived in Bemidji MN, you could stand on 16" of ice and be close enough to where the Mississippi kept open water in the channel between Lake Bemidji and Lake Irving to cast into it.
  23. Trip to the hardware store for some things to do more mods to the canoe with...stopped at a local shop to peruse. Had 5 BC reels but only 4 usable rods...though one of the reels is a cheapie Quantum. The shop had Diawa Laguna rods on display - perfect, inexpensive rod for a cheap reel. So now I'm up to 9 rigs...which means building another rod rack for the canoe instead of just inserting another holder into the current rack.
  24. Then I would definitely wire in a circuit breaker...or at least a fuse. Fishfinders come with an inline fuse...at least my Hook 2-4 did...so that's taken care of.
  25. As long as you're not using both TMs at the same time, it should be fine to wire them both to the same battery. If you plan on using them together...I'd wire the one least used to the bilge/electronics battery. Far as a circuit breaker - any decent battery box has one or more built in. My MinnKota box has a 50amp for the main terminals and 2-5amp breakers...one for each of the two accessory plugs. I run my TM and fishfinder off the one battery - finder plugged into one of the accessory ports. I also run a USB adaptor in the other accessory port so I can keep my tablet charged. I use the I-Boating app on that - contour maps with GPS tracking, waypoints and recording.
