Minnesota 2020 Fishing Season
I'd love to - but situations demand that I fish the same old spots. Oh well.

OUCH! (Reminder for Kayakers/Boaters
Part-and-parcel of the winter re-org. Despite not having needed it last season, it'll be unloaded, updated, and repacked. I don't have a purchased kit...I have a custom-built.

From what I understand, it'll slot in between the Sierra and Champion at about the $200 mark when in general release. This is just a pre-release 'test market' of 100 rods per 'style'

Your Usage Theory On Drop Shot Weights ?
Finding the heavier bullet (punch) weights in multiples without breaking my budget was an exercise in frustration. So I went with the casting weights.

Your Usage Theory On Drop Shot Weights ?
Eagle Claw has casting weights up to 1-1/2 oz on their site. I have 3/4 oz and 1 oz for bubba shotting into weed mats and lily-pad 'fields'. https://www.eagleclaw.com/02060-bass-casting-sinker

Another tragedy, another reminder....
Is that switch rigged on the main power run? I think I may want to add one to my rig. My hero...

They're in 'test market' phase right now. Once they go to general release, all the major sites should get them.

Towing - Graphs on or off?
Even though A - I've only got a Hook 2-4 B - My furthest travel is about 4 miles C - I never go above 30 mph The graph comes off and sits in the passenger seat of my truck when traveling. I ain't got the spare money to replace even that unit if it breaks because of a hard bump.

Puzzling Scenario ....
Yep - I've been totally skunked plenty of times. Reason it's not called 'catching'. You do your best but sometimes the bass don't cooperate.

Small stream & river fishing
Stream near where I grew up in MA, as an 8 year old I could jump across it. Caught lots of brookies in there though, and even a couple brownies.

Word of warning - I bought this kit the last time it was on-sale and had to replace the front trebles on all of them. Not because of dullness, because they were out-of-true. Looking at them from the bottom, instead of being equal around, they formed a 'T' shape.

Orange paddletail swimbait
Ya - Northland, where I got the pic, primarily targets the walleye/northern crowd.

Rod Selection: The Basics
Considering that by the time the TRD or whatever trailer you're using is on, it's going to be above that 1/8 bottom end of the rod...I think it would do fine. The rod I had been using for finesse - including Ned - was rated 1/8-5/8, so the Aird-X tops out a little lighter...but not an issue,

Another tragedy, another reminder....
Canoe, kayak, boat...doesn't matter - WEAR YOUR BLOODY PFD. Mine goes on before I get in the canoe, doesn't come off until I land.

Winter Tackle Organization
Garage, first floor and attic. There - every monkey gets it's own space.

Winter Tackle Organization
The monkey will not allow that...it want's the ENTIRE basement to itself.

Winter Tackle Organization
I do panfishing from shore sometimes...and have 1 3600 size box for my panfishing needs. Stays in the truck with the Avocet rig for spur-of-the-moment stops.

SLX vs Fuego CT for Frogging
You talking a near 30 year old 500R, or a newer Ambassaduer?
-
SLX vs Fuego CT for Frogging
I'm halfway there - 2 Fuegos, a President and a Supreme are my current BC lineup I don't know if I'd want a 5-speed reel...though if I wanted to try it again, I've got my old Ambassaduer 500R sitting around...5.3:1

Aluminum Angle Issues
1.5"-2" angle should be fine. Under the 2x12 that's the seat base, I use 2" angle as the support. In this pic you can see the corner of it under the work-table to the right. Long as everything is cross-braced, you shouldn't have an issue.
