  1. Add to this: by renting the boat via advertising, you are in fact 'running a business'. There might be licensing issues, permits and registering as a business - plus business insurance in addition to the regular insurance on the boat.
  2. Depends on the size of the boat/canoe/kayak/whatever or if he's a shore-fisherman. I run the I-Boating app (contour maps w/GPS) on an 8" Galaxy Tab-A that's held in the mount shown below. I have no problems seeing where I'm at when I'm out on the water...saved me from having to spend hundreds to get a sonar with mapping.
  3. Can't pick just one - they might be shallow, mid or deep. You have to find where they are and use one suited for the depth they're at.
  4. Considering that Chapstick® contains a couple types of wax, lanolin and mineral oil - it's definitely more suited for lubrication that stays around. I'd be concerned that it'd stay around long enough for the knot to slip. In order Spit KVD L&L conditioner Water Those are what I'd use.
  5. It's not just the WDFW, the MNDNR occasionally puts out a proposal to eliminate Bass to open the waters up for the 'Holy Walleye'. Same lack of studies on the impact of Bass on Walleye production.
  6. If I had to drop from 7 to 5 - here's the rigs I own that I'd 'keep' Fuego/Aird-X Heavy/Fast - Pitch, flip, punch, frogs, topwater President/Aird-X M-Heavy/Fast - Spinner, chatter, buzz, T-Rigs (heavy or in weeds), most of my jigs Fuego/Fury M-Heavy/Mod - Crank/jerk Trion/Aird-X Medium/Fast - Small crank/jerk, T-Rigs (under 1/2 oz weight), Neko, small spinners and jigs (1/4 oz or less) Avocet/Avocet M-Light/Fast - Drop-shot, weightless wacky, Ned. Covers a lot of bases.
  7. Looking at Pfluegers home site - seems they're upgrading quite a few reels. Model numbers will change with the upgrades. I've got a 6925 myself and it's a great little reel.
  8. The standard Magforce, I'd agree with you, but the Fuego CT has the Magforce-Z...which is a much more forgiving brake than a standard mag-system - like on my President.
  9. I'd just use water in a small spray bottle. https://www.michaels.com/spray-bottle-by-artminds/10212993.html
  10. Are you talking the 2oz+ swimbaits or the soft-plastic swimbaits that are 1oz or less? If it's the heavy, solid ones, those require a rod that would be unsuited for the rest...and a rod to handle the rest would be unsuited to the swimbaits. I also wouldn't toss ploppers or cranks on a ML rod - I use a spinner on a medium rod for smaller cranks (under 1/2 oz) - my ML rig is for drop-shots, weighless wacky and ned-rigs...anything heavier goes to the medium or my baitcasters.
  11. (Blinks) that's more than my entire spending budget this year.
  12. For me it was a Mitchell spinning reel on a Berkley Enforcer rod with 12# mono - but ya, I know what you mean.
  13. I'm the same way with only 7 rigs for this coming season - I do it as more of a spot-check...just to be sure.
  14. Star Trek Animated.
  15. I don't even have cable or satellite - even the antenna is unplugged. Get discs of old shows/movies from NetFlix instead.
  16. I agree with an etching - this is my current whiskey glass.
  17. Whelp - went back again today. My problem is that my truck is undergoing repairs...new leaf springs. The 'local' distribution center is 25 miles away. I've sent an e-mail to their Customer Service asking about this issue...see what they say.
  18. What ever is comfortable for you and works. For me, between the ring and pinky finger works - lets me just drop the index finger to pick up the line prior to casting without stretching or having to use the other hand to put the loop on my index finger. It's the way I've done it since I got my first spinning rig back in '68.
  19. I thought you said that LAST season? I know I did...didn't help.
  20. And barely a week after I still saw open water on a couple of bays...the morons are out on the ice.
  21. Still doesn't keep the bait monkey off our backs though, my friend. ?
  22. That's because you're our resident 'Hulk'. Seriously, I think my Trion rig weighs more than that and I have no problems tossing it around.
  23. It also depends on how you hold your rod. For spinners, I have my pinky finger behind the stem, the other three in front of it...so a rod that's 'tip heavy' for others who hold it with more fingers behind the stem is balanced for me.
  24. The only differences between the Fuego CT and the Tatula CT is 2 more bearings in the Tat and the T-Wing...they even use the same spool. Oh - if you want to know where those 2 extra bearings are on the Tat? The handle knobs....
  25. Three days in a row, UPS has had it 'Out for Delivery' - maybe today is the lucky day.
