Favorite Jerk bait!?!
Hahahah @Glaucus!! I'm right there with you on that one, what a collection @A-Jay! Lucky Craft and Megabass have both caught my eye in the past, but I've never pulled the trigger. I'll have to give them a go? Thanks everyone, I'll report back with a picture of a nice jerk bait fish!

Favorite Jerk bait!?!
So I recently posted a question asking what everyone's favorite spinnerbait is, and about a problem I was having with a spinner bait of my own. I got some GREAT responses and recommendations!! Another bait that I'm inexperienced with is jerk bait. So my question to you is what's your favorite jerk bait!!? I feel it's a rather plain question but hey, I want to know! Thanks!

Favorite spinner bait!?
Spring time is here, and the spinnerbait bite is hot on my local pond. While out fishing this morning, I spent most of my time fishing three Nichols spinnerbaits in various colors paired with a 2.8" strike king rage tail paddle tail swim bait as a trailer. Throughout the morning, I kept noticing the blades 'fowling' up, and not working properly. Perhaps the trailer I was using was too heavy? I'm not sure...I do know I should've done some more experimenting while I was on the water though! What's your favorite spinner bait? What's your favorite trailer? Do you even use a trailer? I'm truly curious!!

wish.com lures?
So a coworker of mine is OBSESSED with buying things from wish.com. For those of you who unfamiliar with this site, my understanding is that its just knock offs and replicas of things priced ridiculously low. Some items might be legitimate, but I doubt it...anyway, I did a quick internet search and found some very interesting fishing lures, for almost nothing. Has anyone ever purchased tackle from this site? And if so, what was your experience? Thanks, and Happy New Year!!!!?

Does anyone know of any good places to fish around Mechanicsville, Virginia? I'd love a great place to put my pond prowler in the water! Thanks!!!

What first bass boat should I buy?
@Sam, you mentioned that you have a Ranger. I'm assuming its fiberglass? If so, can I ask what made you switch from the tracker? Also, would anyone recommend getting a fiberglass boat as a first boat?

What first bass boat should I buy?

What first bass boat should I buy?
Ironically enough, the idea of a kayak keeps making its way back into my head...especially a foot powered pedal driven kayak such as a Hobie. This past spring I purchased an ascend fs10t from Bass Pro. Fishing from it took some getting used to, but getting pulled around the pond by 2 pounders never got old? haha however I ended up returning it because I knew I wanted a 'big floating tackle box' lol. I LOVE and miss how convenient it was to get out on the water!! Perhaps some day I may venture back into kayaks. Thanks everyone for all of your feedback! There seems to be a million and one things to consider when buying a boat! I plan on continuing my research to try and limit any post purchase regrets...

I’m leaning heavily towards a tin boat!

What first bass boat should I buy?
It's a ways away, but I plan on buying my first bass boat in a year or two. This would be a totally new experience for me as i've only fished from my buddies jon boat and my 10' pond prowler. I'm not looking for anything super fancy, but definitely want something that will serve me well and last a long time. No intentions to speed up and down the waterways, and don't really see myself fishing tournaments. It would mainly be just me, or me and a buddy out fishing. I'm not opposed to used vessels, but at the same time I like the thought of having something new and a warranty to boot. I'd be fishing the Historic James River, Chickahominy Lake and River, as well as some other spots. Also, I have a 2010 Toyota Tacoma, 4x4 so towing shouldn't be too much of a hassle. If any more details from me would help you provide a better recommendation, feel free to ask any questions! I've been looking at the Bass Tracker 175 txw!

Awesome! Thanks Road warrior!!

Favorite fishing lines
Thanks! Would you still recommend #12 Abrazx even for jigs and bottom contact lures?

Favorite fishing lines
I'm looking to simplify my line selection. What brands and types of line would you recommend? I intend on spooling 4 reels, 1 spinning and 3 casting. The spinning reel will be used primarily for finesse applications, one of the casting reels will be used for moving baits, another casting reel will be used for throwing jigs and Texas rigs, and the last casting reel will be just for topwater. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, Thanks!!? I

What are your fishing goals for 2019?
My main goal is to simply get out and fish more often! I tricked out a 10' pond prowler back in October of this year and bought a trailer to make getting out on the water with it, even less of a hassle. I will post a picture of it when I learn how to lol. With my new watercraft setup, my goal to get out and fish more often will hopefully come true. Another would be to find a great place to fish said setup!! I live in Mechanicsville Virginia so if anyone has any recommendations or can point me to a thread that will help me find a great place, it would be much appreciated!!? Lastly, I'd like to simplify my fishing as a whole. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/profile/2037-catt/ Catt, as well as many others ( I wish I knew how to link just his name lol ) gave me some great advice on a question I posted about lure selection which will hopefully help me accomplish this goal as well!!

Which 5-7 lures should I spend this upcoming season 'dialing in'??
So I'm looking to hone in on a few key lures/techniques, to practice and really develop some skill with each. I saw Glenn's video on the Bass Resource YouTube channel that suggested 7 lures that work year round which are jigs, crank baits, jerk baits, craw/creature baits, spinner baits, finesse worms, and lipless crank baits. Now, I've fished mostly all of these lures a bit, but want to select a few to spend some serious time with. What are your picks/suggestions? Thanks!!!

'Best'/Favorite place to buy tackle and the like!?!
What/where is your favorite place to buy fishing gear? Personally, I've done my best to try and support my local tackle shop (Surfside Bait and Tackle) throughout my five years of fishing experience however, I just got wind that they are closing down Truly wonderful people that own this store, I've been thoroughly bummed since I heard of this. I've browsed many places, mainly brick and mortar stores including some of the larger department stores throughout the years but have always preferred my local shop. Now I am in search of a new place to shop. A buddy mentioned Tackle Warehouse was where he purchased a few things and was quite satisfied with the entire experience. I've found myself on the TW site a lot here recently, just have yet to place an order. Where does everyone shop? Dicks, BPS, local stores, online (TW and such)??? Thanks! ( I feel certain that this topic has come up before, but am still quite new to Bass Resource and am still learning how to navigate the site and forums!! )

Cold weather/Wintertime bass fishing struggle...
As the title suggests, I am STRUGGLING to catch anything in the colder months of the year. Where I live, in central Virginia, our cold weather months start around mid November and start to ease up in mid to late April. I have quite a few questions, and am truly curious as to what your experiences are pertaining to fishing this time of year. Does anyone even try and fish this time of year near my region? If so, are you fishing from a boat, or are you on shore? Have you had any success? Looking forward to what everyone has to say!!

Favorite all around tackle brand?
What brand of tackle do you have the most of? Zoom? Strike King? Live Target??? I've found myself leaning towards Strike King products quite often and am curious as to what you guys prefer.
