  1. Last weekend I recently purchased a 2500 Daiwa Exceler, $80 as well as a 2000 Daiwa Revros, $50. They both 'seem' quite nice so far. I'll report back in a few weeks after some catches? Big fan of Shimano as well. I've got a 1000 Sienna, $30, A 2000 Sedona, $65ish, and a 2500 Nasci, $100. All three have been great.
  2. One of the twenty or so largemouth that were caught on green pumpkin flat worm this past weekend. Great lure. I'm a big fan of the strike king dream shot which the flat worm resembles quite a bit, however if the flatworm continues to produce like it has been..... I might just have to buy stock in berkley
  3. Another vote for Ko2's. Fantastic tire.
  4. Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!!! Great idea
  5. I was going to like this but sadly I ran out of likes for the day lol I love the handles on those spinning reels!!!
  6. Now thats what I'm talking about! I'm glad you too have experienced C&C. Re-watching it always gets me pumped and gives me new ideas. Good stuff
  7. My fiancé and I spend quite a bit of time with her family, especially since they live less than 5 minutes away. In all honesty, I fantasize about moving quite a bit but truly can't see how things would work considering how close we all are. A few moments ago I asked her if she'd ever consider moving away. Her response was something like a 10% oh wow! wouldn't that be nice a 90% no way am I moving that far from my family.
  8. That's awesome! Being that I didn't have access to many skateparks growing up, flat ground and/or street skating was far more common around here. I was like a kid in a candy store when I got my license and had access to all of the parks with vert ramp opportunities! I could spend days at a time on a mini ramp. Check out the video called cheese and crackers with Daewon Song and Chris Haslam if you haven't already, I promise you won't regret it. I absolutely know what you mean! Come spring I'm NEVER home? That also translates to "i'll fix that later."
  9. That was a powerful message indeed. I'm terribly sorry to hear about your wife's health...I've thoroughly enjoyed the videos of you and her taking the Old town canoe for a spin and wearing some green bass out! She gives the impression of a very strong lady. I'm glad that you have found your home. I too, am quite fond of the small town deals and the many attributes that come with it. Hopefully, one day soon (housing market permitting) my fiancé and I can finally find a place to make our own.
  10. TN is certainly something to consider! Gorgeous state. I'll have to do some research on the climate there.
  11. Nice. All of those seem to me like a great happy medium!
  12. I love it! Skateboarding was a massive part of my childhood and continued well into my late teens. I've still got a board and hop on it every now and just to make sure I can still kick flip and do the odd tre-flip every now and then. An indoor skatepark nearby would be a dream come true. There are a few decent skateparks around here and TONS of street spots all over the city if your into that sort of thing. Perhaps I'll hop back on the board some day soon.
  13. Reading a few of yall's replies, I can tell how much your home state means to you. I too, feel the same. That feeling, and all of my family living here in VA are the two factors that 'keep the moving to somewhere else' thought at bay.
  14. Florida sounds like a dream right about now @BBuck. I'm sure the overwhelming heat of the summer can get old though... It's refreshing to hear about good fishing in the months that I often times struggle. I can't foresee my boat leaving the driveway for another month or so. Thanks for the insight@MN Fisher. My 'hat's off to you' as they say. I enjoy reading your posts. If I could nail down a good wintertime hobby like you mentioned, things might not be as depressing lol Hopefully your water thaws soon and you can try out all of that fishing gear i've seen you post about!
  15. Wintertime blues are currently peaking at the moment... This post would be a mile and a half long if I listed all of the things I despised about the cold weather. I realize I sound like a pansy. Here in Virginia, Winters aren't even that bad in comparison to many other states. I still hate them with a burning passion lol. How do you northern folks deal with it? @A-Jay, @MN Fisher, @J Francho @Mbirdsley??? Moving to a warmer climate has been on my mind quite a bit lately. Has anyone ever honestly considered moving south?? And If you were to move somewhere warmer, where would that be? @BrianMDTX I remember reading a username explanation thread on here and you stated you made the journey south. Please tell me you're loving February more than I am?
  16. That setup would be a dream come true! Minus the wakeboarding of course..... lol My fiancé and I have been house hunting for nearly six months now, and would you believe waterfront isn't part of the criteria?. Perhaps I need to update our 'must haves' to our realtor. Haha in all seriousness though, there aren't many waterfront properties moderately close by to where we want to be. Otherwise It'd be top of the list. My usual fishing spot is the Pamunkey River. It takes about 30 minutes or so to get there. My favorite lake is only about 20 minutes away...but sadly due to it being private, I have to have a friend of mine with me and the stars seemingly have to align to be able to fish it.
  17. 1/4-oz pegged T-rigged rage bug, green pumpkin 5" GYCB senko weightless T-rigged KVD dream shot on a drop shot 1/4-oz finesse jig with a zoom lil critter craw trailer Lastly, its a three way tie between a chatter bait, spinner bait, or a squarebill crank bait.
  18. Love the markers! Good find!
  19. I too like to eat something while out on the water. As I usually fish early in the morning to mid afternoon, I'm usually starving by lunch time ie 12:00. A typical lunch consists of a healthy-ish pb&j. However when I have it, leftover pizza from the night before is in the cooler. Cold pizza is a thing of beauty to me. I'll admit though, stopping to eat sometimes isn't that easy....
  20. Bow mount or transom mount? I would assume bow mount is what you have. It's hard to say exactly what's going on exactly however if I were to speculate, I would guess your'e not seating the trolling motor head/upper deploying armature to the base that's connected to the bow of your boat. My fortrex will lift itself out of the water if you don't simply make sure each locking pin on the upper arm makes complete contact with the base and audibly 'locks into place.' More details and pictures could help all of us advise you a bit better. Good luck!
  21. Thats beautiful. Congratulations on the catch and the amazing replica. Looking forward to one day having a replica made of one of my own catches.
