  1. For you guys that service your own trailer bearings/hubs… what kind of grease do you use? where is the best place to purchase it? I’ve been using Lucas marine grease
  2. I've got 130 coming my way and i've never even thrown a dinger hahah I've been a senko snob forever but the price was just too good to pass up.
  3. Thanks for sharing the info @Sam Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I could've sworn the critters that I see patrolling the banks of the Pamunkey River are Nutria. They look exactly like the pictures in your Wiki link. I see quite a few of them throughout the course of a day on the water Maybe they're a different species, I'm not sure. I'll certainly be paying closer attention the next time I go out. Maybe I need to start bringing a .22?
  4. Another vote for the Daiwa Revros reel in whatever size you prefer, as well as the Daiwa Aird-X spinning rods. 7' ML or M you can't go wrong.
  5. Thats a great question. Admittedly, I saw the deal and immediately purchased 2 (30) packs. I won't have the desire to use them for a few months so I can wait on the arrival date. I hope that nothing goes wrong with the transaction however. We'll see... Sucker for a deal I guess
  6. Perhaps i'm a pansy. The few Ribeye steaks that i've had have been super fatty which turned me off. Many like the big hunks of fat, but it's just not my thing. A well cooked Sirloin, or better yet a tenderloin fillet are my top choices.
  7. I've seen people recommend luggage scales for fishing usage if I'm not mistaken @Bluebasser86 was that you who has used them? @A-Jay uses a scale that seems to be pretty cool, not sure of the price though. Check his YouTube videos out if you're interested seeing them in use, plus some tubby Brown fish. I've had a handful of various scales. My current one is this Rapala model. I like it fairly well. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Rapala_High_Contrast_Digital_Scale_50lb/descpage-RHCDS.html?from=gshop&gclid=Cj0KCQiAw8OeBhCeARIsAGxWtUz6Bhti934rN-_Hr3pd_LNMjkW0aJ0MvteNK72PT6fVqHXfdR7Mz8oaArimEALw_wcB
  8. Welcome welcome! Bass resource is a great place to be. I too live just outside of Richmond. I primarily fish the Pamunkey and Chickahominy Rivers. Tidal Largemouth are a blast to catch in our local river systems. I've been wanting to small mouth fish the New River, just haven't carved out the details and planned the trip yet. Looking forward to having you on board! @Sam has recommended local anglers to tournament clubs in the past if i'm not mistaken. Good luck and happy fishing!

I second this notion. Another fantastic idea...sort of like getting rid of daylight savings time lol
  10. Tom is spot on here with this suggestion IMHO. Depending on your balance and if you stand in your jon boat, a 1436 can be 'tippy' to some people. Mounting a tiller handle TM to the bow (or casting deck area) of your jon boat, can also be very convenient to use. Something like this...https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/minn-kota-edge-freshwater-hand-control-bow-mount-trolling-motor?hvarAID=shopping_googleproductextensions&ds_e=GOOGLE&ds_c=BPS|Shopping|Smart|Boating|General|NAud|TopPerf|NMT&gclid=CjwKCAiA2rOeBhAsEiwA2Pl7Q9NgPXeBT0mIlJiw7hjIeyeMxvsSWPAI6FbdeG0JhBvfqFSP7DGEzxoCGz4QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Consider checking out Richard Gene the fishing machines videos on YouTube. He utilizes the bow mount tiller style TM's on both of his boats and has quite a bit of boat control. Lastly, if you do go with a pedal style trolling motor, and you plan on using it while standing from an elevated position in your jon boat, I would HIGHLY recommend recessing the foot pedal if you're able to. This is what i use in my 1648 Grizzly... https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/panther-marinetech-trolling-motor-foot-control-tray?hvarAID=shopping_googleproductextensions&ds_e=GOOGLE&ds_c=BPS|Shopping|Smart|Boating|General|NAud|TopPerf|NMT&gclid=CjwKCAiA2rOeBhAsEiwA2Pl7Q7qnO55gEYlLAZ33OzoaVLvxXIBjufc8EZhqEU_GF9aOdiLMOzp8GhoC3yQQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Trying to do the 'captain morgan' stance to use your foot pedal in a small jon boat isn't fun nor safe. A lot of balance is required. Some newer foot pedals on trolling motors are far shorter than mine though. Even at only 3 to 4 inches tall, it can hinder your balance quite a bit. Good luck in your search!
  11. I think its personal preference. Which do you think you'll get more use out of? I own fortrex (pedal only) and am quite happy with it. Utilizing a remote in my fishing doesn't seem like something i'll ever want. Seemingly, the only time I'm not standing near, or directly over my TM pedal is when I'm at the console using the outboard motor to get to the next spot. Spotlock however, is a different story. My next TM will most likely be an ultrex with spot lock.
  12. I'd love a bigger, 'better', faster and more well equipped bass boat. I know many others would also. My 1648 Grizzly will have to hold me over until such time I can afford something 'better'. I bet that boat would be nothing short of amazing. Thats a LOT of money though. Unless one has the cash to buy it outright, imagine what you'd end up actually paying for it once your loan is all paid in full... I'm scared of debt.
  13. Not much of a shaker, more of a pourer... Texas Pete is on more of my food than I care to admit. If I do shake something on food, its probably salt and pepper. The only premixed spice I ever seem to use is Montreal steak seasoning. Thats some good stuff. Steak and eggs with Montreal steak seasoning is a beautiful thing. Going to have to give that Weber seasoning a try @A-Jay You're metric ton of chicken diet sounds a lot like mine.
  14. That was awesome!!!
  15. It's a shame that it even has to get to the point of having to be rude. IMHO definitely necessary at times though. I would never want to be a sales person. If someone wasn't interested in whatever product i was trying to sell, I'd simply say "okay, thanks for your time. Have a nice day!" I probably wouldn't last long in that job doing that lol
  16. If you're referring to the older HAVOC line of pit boss's, i haven't seen those in store for quite some time. The Powerbait Pittboss's can be found just about anywhere near me though. Walmart used to have tons of the HAVOC pittbosses and probably one of the cheapest places to purchase them as well. Now my local Walmart doesn't carry them.
  17. Congratulations @AlabamaSpothunter That double up was awesome to watch! Shame the big one came off... Do you mind me asking what the surface water temps are in that body of water you're fishing?
  18. I don't even listen to music when I drive vehicles, (not common, i know) but I definitely don't want to listen to music while on the water. Far too many natural sounds to enjoy.
  19. I'm interested in those Yo Mama's... where's the best place to pick up the 100 packs of em @T-Billy? Thanks!
  20. @CattI just did a quick search on the Field & Stream Tech Spec Black, that looks like a really nice rod! I've never seen them in stores. I assume DSG or F&S would be the one who sells them? The DSG stores around me have all stopped selling fishing gear unfortunately. Sadly there aren't any F&S stores locally. I might have to pick on of those rods up. Winn Grips on a $56. I'm all for it We did just gain our first Academy sports store locally. I went in there recently and spent almost an hour looking around the entire store. The H20 Express lineup looked really nice!! I wonder what kind of warranty they have on their gear.
  21. I know the rods both retail for $79.99, but how do you guys feel about the Daiwa Procyron and Daiwa Fuego line of rods? Anyone have any experience with them? I own a 6'-6" MH Procyron and like it quite a bit. Especially the reel seat. Its fantastic for throwing spinnerbaits accurately next to cover when they're up shallow or around submerged objects. The reason I ask about these lines of rods is because they both offer far and away more models in each of their lineups.
  22. @Hook2JawHahah unfortunately it isn't. I just checked TW, the actual name is midnight train.
  23. Spro Frog All Black. 5.8lbs
