Stuff you sprinkle on food.

I never/rarely buy premixed seasonings.  However my brother found me this.  We use it at deer-camp to streamline packing stuff.  It is all but impossible to find where I live.  My brother can buy it at Walmart in Texas all day long.

not counting herb de Provence or five spice powder I believe this is my only pre/mix.  It’s so dang good.  Basically salt and garlic powder.   I just made chicken tacos and they were legit.

Heads up. If you see this , try it.   It’s almost pixie dust.

Thanks for sharing! I’ll keep an eye out for that stuff. I mostly follow recipes but will add spices somewhat often if I think they will liven up the flavor.

My chicken enchilada spices, for instance, include cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, oregano, and garlic powder used at a couple different times during cooking. Between some of the heat included there, Serrano peppers, and enchilada sauce, my enchiladas are ruthless and will have you crying. I like them that way.

I use a fair amount of Montreal Steak Seasoning.  Not just on steak either.

Lately I have been using it on venison.

Sure it tastes great.

But the Second ingredient is MSG.

After one serving I would have The HEADACHE from H E double hockey sticks !

Do you put that on chicken? Seems offensive to the chicken. It’s like “Man, chicken I like you, but I really wish you were a cow”

And that's one reason I do not go out to eat or get take out anymore.

Not worth it.

understood.

MSG has been made for a century.  just a derivative of natural glutamates.    I have a tiny tube of it that I never use.  maybe if I am making sauces.

A-Jay whenever I am buying food or making it, I always have this little voice in my head that is you that’s telling me if something is healthy or not. Living in my head rent free.

I moved to making those enchiladas with whole wheat tortillas because of you.

Yup ~

I think I'm allergic to it or something.

Because there's nothing natural about my reaction to MSG.

Unless we're calling the fetal position natural.

You don't need an allergy to keep me out of an Indian Restaurant.

There’s my staple. Steamed crabs and shrimp, crab cakes, wings, French fries, popcorn and definitely in a spicy Bloody Mary!

I use Mexican seasoning if we're having tacos and stuff. But most times, good old salt and pepper works for me. Not too much salt.

When you get older you have to be careful what you sprinkle on your food. At age 25, I could eat anything. Now at 65 things have changed.

MSG is bad for you and gives you headaches is actually mostly untrue. Sure some folks may have a reaction to it, but that's true of most foods and ingredients.

I use Tony Cacheres Creole seasoning on alot of things
