Where can't one buy grease?

Amazon.

I'd be curious how many are actually pulling the bearings for service, trailers with grease Zerks.

The longest I've owned a boat trailer was 10 years and never had to pull a wheel for service even though it's a relatively easy job...... with latex gloves.

I've had mine since 2015 now, and I haven't done it.  But mine are greaseless hubs. ?

I have Zerk fittings on all my hubs and I service the hubs regularly but I pull and repack my bearings before any long trip.

Depends on use, if you are towing a few miles, once in a while in flat terrain at moderate speeds, then you can wait until you hear metal on metal or see sparks, but if you are trailering long distances in highways with traffic and hills, the bearings, brakes, and everything else better be in good shape. Also if the wheels get dunked deeper than normal, or in the salt, maintenance becomes more critical.

You've probably already seen some of the folks that should be servicing bearings.

They are often pulled over on the side of the road/highway, outside of their vehicle, standing by the trailer, hat in one hand and scratching the side of their head with the other.   Might be some smoke visible as well.

Yes, I personally know that person, my BIL.

Every year we're on the side of the road dealing with a seized bearing or a flat tire do to under inflation.

Boat trailer bearings require quite a bit of attention to deal with water intrusion.

I don't use any kind of "special" grease.   I jack my trailer up once a month and "feel" of the bearings.  I remove the hubs, clean and pack the bearings once a year.   This "might" be overkill for a boat,  this habit comes from my racing days when I was traveling as much as 50K miles a year with a trailer.  Car hauling trailers don't get backed into the water though.    WAY too many people over grease the bearings with the zerk fittings.  This damages the seals and allows water to contaminate the grease.

So, the first time I jacked my trailer up and "felt" the bearings one hub was loose.  I checked, cleaned and packed the bearings on both sides.  A couple months later I got a recall letter about loose wheel bearings from the factory.

Just researched Walmarts Prices on Lucas grease, they seem to be the lowest i've seen yet. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll have to swing by wally world one day soon to pick up a few tubes and visit the fishing section?
