  1. Not problems froging or punching on 50lb smackdown? I've broken several frogs off on 40lb smackdown so I switched to 65lb maxq
  2. I'm a shimano fan boy at this point. All the mgl reels are fantastic! Somebody tell me I'm missing something from the net mgl, bantam and aldebarans. If im missing some fantastic diawa let me know!
  3. I didn't think the left handed version was out??
  4. Why the conquest over the nrx?
  5. Gorilla glue with the brush, just swipe over them and they never come off. If you're worried about the sent or taste use bait attractant.
  6. That's gotta be for light cover. I have that rod with an aldebaran and I absolutely love it. It just doesn't have the power to drag them out of the grass.
  7. Nrx 852s paired with a diawa tatula LT 3000. Sunline sx1 12lb high vis line paired with the appropriate flouro leader
  8. Up to what weight will you use with the 894? I have the 893 with a bantam
  9. Thoughts on throwing a swim jig instead of a regular jig for bottom contact in or around grass? I was doing this last week in a weedy area with the thought that it's still a jig and should act the same on the bottom.
  10. 75s weigh more than the 90s. They are easier to throw on casting gear. I personally like my 75s as much as my 110 & 130s
  11. I'm a braid to leader guy. I've recently started throwing the evergeen nd 180 as well as some hudds. The bass do not appear to be line shy however I do not want to go to any type of steel leader. My fear is that I'm going to get broken off due to the amount of decent sized pike in my waters. Am I safe to go with 65lb braid or add a small leader of my sunline 20lb system leader? 20lb is the biggest line I have. I understand I could go with a big game in as high as 50lb mono. What are you thoughts?
  12. I personally find the 7' Kistler MH H3 as a really nice rod to throw jerkbaits on. It's high end weight is even capable of throwing the megabass Kanata a country mile. It's probably the most versatile rod I own and that's saying something. Pair it with an aldebaran and it's unbelievable in your hands.
  13. No, boat just needs to be moving.
  14. Side imaging only works when moving
  15. I would think most frog rods would balance better with the heavier bantam. My 7'5 envy black 2 H feels best with my bantam. Ive tried my chronarch, metanium and aldebarans but thr bantam balances best. I was always a lightest reel guy until I felt a balanced longer setup.
  16. I love my 893, I was worried it wouldn't feel great throwing a 3/8 Oz jig. I actually threw a 3/4 Oz dark sleeper the other day without a problem.. The Nrx 893 is a joy to fish with regardless if my megabass rods look nicer. I don't have the 894 but I was in the same boat. I opted the 893 because if I didn't like jigging on it I could still do a ton of other stuff.
  17. I'm going to try out the new freestyles this year. I'm going to be dragging them through the grass in about 10ft of water rigged weedless. What are you guys favorite colors? I have bluegill and some perch in the lake but I feel like the peral is a standard favorite
  18. You still run a leader correct?
  19. What are your thoughts on which you prefer?
  20. 7'1 med/heavy H3 is crazy versatile. I even had a blast with smallmouth on a vision 110.
  21. Looking for a rod for 2oz wakebait, S waver, double duty as punching and maybe even a 68 hudd. Anybody have thoughts on the Phenix? Does it have a soft enough tip for trebbles? Fyi I'm a braid guy but can do leaders
  22. Is there a rod that could double down on all these 1-3 Oz tasks including even maybe a 10xd?
  23. I'm looking for a rod that can bridge a gap in my setups. Currently the heaviest rods I own all go to 1.5oz. 13 F Envy Black Flipping stick - 1.5 Oz & Diawa Dx type H glass rod 1.5oz. Currently the diawa has gotten s waver 168 duty but even that feels too much. I'd like to throw this nosiy dachs 180 but at 0.7 ounces heavier than the waver I think I need a bigger rod. Really around 1.25oz to 3.25oz. I'm looking for a fairly budget stick to get that duty done.I currently own a fair amount of high end tackle but I just don't think I can justify it for this type of fishing. Maybe I'm wrong. I assume a standard shimano casting reel will be fine. My r OH and I have a 13 F defy black 8'0H swimbait rod 4-8oz that I joke is a defensive weapon because it's a giant heavy pole cue. It'd be great for jousting!
