  1. A-Jay, do you prefer one to the other and do you prefer spinning gear for both?
  2. How do you like those pop maxs and xs?
  3. Whats it bring it down to?
  4. I'm interested in your guys recommendations on hi vis line above 30lb. A lot of the premium braids coming in heavier sizes up to 30lb but I've found regardless of which mgl reel I use that I can inferior casting distance with this thin line. Smackdown in hi vis green would dig into itself. For some reason I struggle with most anything under 40lb in smackdown power pro max quarto. I'm looking for this line to fish a weightless senko around heavy grass. The ability to line watch is much appreciated.
  5. Sometimes, in the juice a broomstick is the best option
  6. I've been hearing the perfect pitch is heavy. Thoughts? Looking to pair in an met mgl
  7. No worries, it's for my buddy. Best thing to do would be a cheaper frog rod and a more sensitive worm rod. Just wondering if you guys came across soemthing that works for both. He currently has a Diablo spec r megabass that gets pushed around hard by small bass in heavy grass
  8. I honestly think it's because a lot of people can't get excited about a big box store names rod that doesn't mean much. We can all get excited about a specific model from other rod manufacturers. Just my opinion. It's like being excited About Johnny Morris signature reel blah blah blah. What is it really? Mind you, I had acl surgery three days ago and I'm cranky
  9. Any budget, I was thinking maybe expride 7'2h or nrx 894 but not sure if anyone has experience froging on the 894.
  10. Wondering what high sensitivity frog rods out therd that might have enough tip to throw a weightless 6 inch whacky senko in and around heavy grass.
  11. I'm guess you're not running these "too good" electronics
  12. While I too would love a newer met mgl in a different color I wonder how they can make it better? If you want brass we can put brass in but it's a different reel with different weight and it might not cast as far? I have all of the mgl reels and the met is just special, especially the jdm met
  13. Have you tried an aldebaran on the 893? I personally didn't like it and switched to a bantam mgl. Even with a bantam mgl it still balances about 3/4 of an inch in front of the locking nut. Middle of the road varies widely on the road. The fury Is not the middle of the road when the high end of the road is the nrx. Often price is a good metric on rod suggestions from the op Define middle of the road and weights you'd like to use.
  14. I currently have a helix 10di g2n mega at the bow and a helix 10si g2n mega at the console. Both are running individual 14 gauge wire to the battery. Being that it is winter I'm doing some upgrading. I'd like to upgrade the picture quality 'possibly' on my current units but also have the right wire if I upgrade them. Is 10 gauge 10/2 Marine sheilded wire what I should be using? Is there any downside in going too big? Also, should I run two sets of 10/2, one to each unit or sit the power off at the console? Then I wonder if I should add ferrite rings or chokes just to make sure. I'll obviously solder eveything. I'm trying to do it once and do it right.
  15. It's winter here in Michigan and I'm stuck recovering from acl reconstruction. I've got a few books I'm working on but I'd love some good video content. Not Jaws or the perfect storm as google would say. I'm looking for teach type video or just fun to watch and get pumped up. This could be previous events that were filmed or even content providers similar to what yeti films put out with fishing related videos. Help me out guys.
  16. Am I reading that right that you're fishing a 10oz Calcutta on a 844c?
  17. Which model do you love for this technique?
