The Pressure Bite
I usually end up not catching anything when that happens. I’ll have tears in my Senko when I inspect it after a few casts.

What do you do that nobody else does?
I change the reel handle to the right so I can reel and cast with my right hand with my spinning rods. I will sometimes put a Swim Senko on a shaky head and swim it around lay downs.

What defines a "senco"?
5” on a 3/0 EWG hook. Walmart carries Senkos and Yum Dingers. They also have a few different lines of hooks, Mustad, Eagle Claw, Berkley, and Gamakatsu. Let it fall, fish it extremely slow.

Catching Catfish on Bass Lures
My FIL caught a squeaker on a bitsy bug the other day and I caught one a few years ago on a Texas rigged Berkley Gulp worm.

Keeping rods and tackle in the car during warm months?
I usually do keep my gear in the back of my truck (have a hard plastic tonneau cover) but there’s been a few trucks broken in to nearby. If it wasn’t for that, I’d keep them in the back of the truck.

LMB without the black stripe?
I just caught a 1.5 pounder, beautiful largemouth. Had a nice dark green fade to a golden white. The only thing wrong visually was that it didn’t have the characteristic black blotchy stripe. Has anybody ever seen this before?

It’s a major award, I won it.
Tom, That Team KVD also comes in a 7’ Medium power Fast action rod paired with a 6.6:1 reel.

Is this the combo you’re referring to? Quantum Team KVD/Bass Pro Bionic Blade combo

It’s a major award, I won it.
I thought that you’d want a 5.x:1 gear ratio reel instead of a 6.6:1 ratio?

@Lead Head where do you find your rods and reels at? @BaitFinesse I am not wanting to be spending much more than the gift card. Maybe somewhere around the $120-$150 range?

It could be a bowling alley. ? I entered a contest on the Twitters and ended up winning a $100 gift card to Bass Pro Shop. I’m needing a good baitcasting crankbait setup. What would you do with a $100 gift card, I’m needing some ideas.

How to have more fun when not catching em
I went to a small reservoir lake the other day with a buddy. It was hot, no wind, no fish, but we had fun. We watched a squirrel fall out of a tree, land in the water, climb onto shore, shake off, and climb back into the tree. It was was rather comical.

What Kinds of Fishing Do You Do?
I mainly catch twigs and small logs.

Great rods that get no love
I had a medium Falcon Lowrider rod I bought about 10 years ago. I caught many a river largemouth on Christmas tree Swim Senkos swimming it by lay downs. It was my favorite rod, I think I paid around $100 for it, and it was stolen last year. Thief broke the lock off the boat’s rod locker.

A rare insight into crankbait fishing
Ok, so the $64 question that’s not been asked or answered... Do you always attach the crankbait directly to the line or are there any situations you attach it to a clip?

baits that define a technique or category
Thanks Tom, before the shaky head I only ever heard it called a jig head worm.
-
baits that define a technique or category
Shaky head when you put a worm on a jig head. Should be called a “jig head worm.”
-
Which do you use more: Baitcasting or Spinning?
I was 100% spinning up to last year when my rods were stolen. Now I’m 50/50, but I want another spinner for drop shot.

Why do I get hung up all the time?
I lost two yesterday and called it a day. A BPS jig and a KVD 1.5 squarebill. There went close to $10.

Dehydration
I usually drink a bottle of low calorie Gatorade or Powerade Zero in between bottles of water. Try to be that guy, hooded shirt, hat, sunglasses, cover up like an albino. If you want to get high tech, you can get a sweat study done that will tell you your exact percentages of electrolytes lost in your own sweat. They do this for Olympic athletes all the time.

Fishing’s gone ice cold for me
I’ve not caught a fish since Memorial Day. Right now I’m only able to bank fish around the slough where my camper is. I’ve been junk fishing just trying to land something. Jigs, Senkos, shaky head, square bills, spinner bait, lipless crankbaits, creatures, lizards, T-rig, jerk baits, bladed jigs, basically everything in my tackle box and nothing. Water visibility is about 4 feet and has a little stain to it, water temp is in the low 80s, there are piers and weeds. Bluegill, crawfish, and shad for forage. Very frustrating to me. I’m stuck bank fishing until I get a water pump in.

Help! gut hooked fish
Maybe a circle hook or a swimbait jighead?

What seems to never work for you...
I pretty much started back fishing about two years ago once we moved close to a river. I’ve not had any luck on a jig so I’m not going to switch off to a weightless or wacky Senko or a Trick Worm on a shaky head until I can get this down pat.
