  1. Bass Pro Shops Tourney Special 7’6 Heavy Fast. Was in sale for $29
  2. Back then we’d throw a rock attached to 8lb Walmart mono on whatever rod/reel we could find in the garage. Not until we started ‘learning’ stuff did limitations come in. I’ve seen guys in 60k bass boat zero and dudes with a cane pole fill up a cooler. It’s all about knowing ‘your’ craft. Those numbers and data are rough suggestions
  3. Have a Lowe 16ft. We welded a piece of aluminum across, bolted it to that. Been great. Whatever you choose make sure the trolling motor when in the down position is as close to dead center of the bow as possible
  4. I personally don’t think you have enough electronics. I say you get a projector and show random sporting activities on it. Followed by cheering, weird high fives and cold ones. Forget the fish
  5. You’ve never wondered into the kitchen hammered and ate the first thing you grabbed? It looks like everything they eat wrapped into one...exactly like what’s in that Tupperware at 2am..burrito? Hamburger? Mac n cheese? it looks like food...take a run at it
  6. No finesse. Go big. Swim bait, Frog, 1oz jig etc..weedless senko is good but...
  7. Paper, rock, scissors. Paper is frog. Rock is spinnerbait. Scissors is flipping some sort of plastic.
  8. I swear kids are the best anglers..all feel Boy: I think we should tie up frogs Dad: It’s 92, no wind and bright..I’m game. 3 casts later...wack
  9. Yeah. This is what I use exactly. I’m a pad and paper guy plus when you have a good day, grab a cold one and start writin’. Wife laughs and calls it my diary. Told her she should do one for every time she leaves the car on E. It’d be longer than the Old Testament
  10. Bigger the bass, less ‘bite’ I feel. They don’t nibble. They take the whole thing. Also noticed the bigger ones 6+ have turned to the side when we’re about to grab/net them at the boat. Can’t say why. In my dumb mind I’m thinking they are attempting to show how big they are in a last ditch effort of survival. Lastly, I miss more smaller fish on top water than bigger ones. Seems to me the big girls don’t miss when it’s go time.
  11. Me, boy and 2 dogs..good day
  12. ??. Finesse fishin’!
  13. ^^?. Specially when your supposed to be ‘working’. Naturally that’s when you catch your PB but can’t share it with anyone...?
  14. Back in the days where no one cussed, no one cheated and everyone married their soulmates..there’s always been _____s out there and will always be. Hell, Noah got into it at the boat ramp for taking to long to load..
  15. Hehe! 24 years of confusion. Title of my biography...
  16. Huh? Is this a real question?? Let it rip wherever we are. With one hand on the reel of course
  17. 91 here without a whiff of breeze...coors light was cold tho..
  18. I’m using the same plug with 2 different techniques. Old school PopR and Popping Frog is what I’m talking about specifically. I walk it and I’ll chug it. Ive caught bigger ones with the walking technique on the same lure. We have determined there are ‘big fish baits’. Are there ‘big fish retrieves’? My data says yes. My confidence says yes. Im inquiring if any of you have noticed the same in different parts of the country with all types of conditions
  19. I do spend a lot of time there. There’s a dam that separates Palm River (McKay Bay) and the bypass. It’s 100% fresh and strikingly clear some days for Florida. I’ve seen 8-9ft down sometimes. Very Un-Florida like. There’s about 4 lily pads and it drops 18-19ft 10 yards from the bank. HP restrictions keeps the pressure way down. I was wondering if anyone else notices they catch bigger fish when they’re walking a top water vs just popping
  20. According to my logs and selective memory, I’ve caught the bigger ones on: Double Colorado spinnerbait Wider, fatter jigs/worms and lately.. walking a top water vs popping a top water. (7 over 5 lbs in last month. Haven’t even bothered to re-tie the popping frog as it has a lot of juice on it) Thoughts?...
  21. Is it plugged in? Wish I could help. The word ‘man made’ will no doubt have flaws. How many passes did you make with the graph?
  22. Loser. Same type of dudes that start fights at little league games. Square as a cube.
  23. Ehhh..as a southerner surrounded by gators and snakes, I would caution a 14year old doing it especially on his own. Adding to the fact I’m sure he’s somewhat new at it and doesn’t know his surroundings as well as an older angler. Too many times I’ve felt uncomfortable and I’m in a boat. Seeing a 12-14 footer thrash his tail and spray the inside of the boat got my attention and gets my full respect and distance. Not worth catching a 2lb fish in my opinion.
  24. I’ll keep a few small ones for breakfast every now and then. (If a small fried bass doesn’t taste good, your doing it wrong) I never understand how keeping a 3lber make people cringe but blasting a deer or bear that was just strolling by is ok. Not against hunting either I just don’t know how it equates.
  25. Keeper or good old fashioned super glue
