  1. Have a theory that wider baits catch bigger fish. Could be who was in the front of the boat. Could be accuracy of casting. Could be retrieve. Or..combination of all of it multiplied by a little luck, plus conditions divided by confidence. In other words, fishing
  2. It happens. Could’ve been that fish was dead set on feeding and came back. Could’ve been watching him feed fired another one up to feed. Either way, you won. Keep throwing them
  3. ^yes. Great info. Keep it simple. White/chartreuse, all chartreuse. one double willow, one tandem, one double Colorado. They are way more seedless than they get credit for. Launch them in the thick (live) weeds. Like mentioned above, change speed, rod tip angle etc. fish it where you can see it (up high) fish it were you can barely see it and fish it crawling on the bottom.
  4. Could be a problem backing down the ramp. Those 4 small holes usually have a metal rod where you can select the setting you want by lifting the motor and inserting rod into a certain hole. It could be missing or broken or both. Trailering and loading/unloading would concern me more than operation.
  5. How he cheated with someone else in the boat was unbelievable. I mean truly unreal he was that far gone.
  6. That sir, is impressive.
  7. ?. Don’t worry bout it...
  8. The spelling of Glen(n) is what I’m referring to. It could be Clemson, NC State, Wake Forest, Vandy rig...don’t get it.
  9. Depends on where you live bub..
  10. What’s the 1 (or 2) baits your ashamed to say have never caught a bass on. You know the ‘standards’. Thanks for asking Glen, I’ll start.. Carolina rig. Rig it up. Cast it out. Then I start to feel dumb. Reel it back in, throw something else. Interested to to hear some other ones..
  11. Few days? Your good. I use to worry about this as well. I fished a tournament (7+- hours) then fished two more days of 6+ hours (without recharging) and it was still kicking well. This is just the TM battery btw. Weeds and fishing line WILL kill your batteries quick however. Always check that first. Check to make sure the terminals are very tight as well. That’s #2. A little bit of Vaseline in the terminals and where the TM connects cuts down on corrosion and gets a better ‘bite’ from the battery as well. good luck
  12. Been hotter than 2 rats making love in a wool sock watching fireworks down here since May. Take that shirt off, dunk it in the lake, put it back on and keep grinding. I seen a mosquito with a sun tan yesterday.
  13. Come on man..if you have to ask, your mind is made up. Get it and be the first one at the boat ramp, and get on it slightly before ‘resume normal safe operation’ just because..
  14. There is no other bait created that works better in ponds than a worm. Weightless, weighted, wacky, whatever. Start there. Catch fish. Try something else. —spinnerbait —frog —jig Triple secret vibrating, battery powered, fish calling, double reverse engineered, drop shotted, ultrasonic, radar stealth...don’t worry about those right now
  15. 1/2 ozLipless crankbait (OG Shad color) Reeling it so slow to the point of it almost not moving. 15-17 ft of water. I feel Deep strong pull..tell partner “put your rod down, I’ll need you” She jumped once, I thought it was a humpback whale in Nova Scotia. Didn’t let her jump again, she ran under the boat, I took it off the drag and put it in my thumb like I know what I’m doing (?). “The next time she comes close you grab any part of her” 9.1 That was two weeks ago
  16. Bite is on: fish until they stop biting. Bite is not on: find bar that is on the water. Enter bar. Purchase items. Return with items to boat and continue to fish as if bite is on.
  17. My wife would have the insurance on speed dial, drop 3 dress sizes and overheat the internet with ads for a boat for sale...in that order
  18. Do you have to give the boat back? Btw, unless the ice is frozen lake water, don’t put ice in there. They’ll be dead before you get up to cruising speed of 4.
  19. Only every time..I put coors light on it and it seems to help..
  20. Nothing makes a bait more natural than old school Berkley Trilene XL 10 or 12lb mono. Not sexy, not cool but I’ve broke more off on 65lb power (like today) pro than the XL. Try both. Casting mono vs Fluoro is different btw. Once dialed in, you can ‘get after’ Fluoro and really send it out.
  21. ^This. if you ain’t catchin’ them, I can 99% guarantee you it’s something the angler is not doing right rather than electronics being on. Its noisy around bridges. A lot of fish are caught around bridges.
  22. ..she got a good job, good credit, no kids AND she can cook
  23. I took the wife fishing once. My urge to murder increased by 41%. It did solidify her hatred of it and guaranteed I would never have to ask her again. To your question, you didn’t think you’d break the lake record with how infrequent you fish right? go and fish it again, and again and again until you figure something out
  24. A lot of factors. nick or cut extreme bend in the line that weakened it he May have straighten you out, in other words the rod tip was pointed right at him with no bend. No bend in the rod means the knot is getting ALL the pressure of the fish (think how we all get the hook unstuck when it’s stuck in something) and, of course it could ‘just be fishin’..sometimes, something’s dont make sense out there
