  1. Bro, you can play the 2 guard in the NBA...get a 12
  2. I got it once. Also got near the wife on $0.25 wing night. I’d rather have the treble hooks. Boat flip Pliers In that order. Now if I think it’s over 8, we’re going in regardless.
  3. Yep. 99% you 1% the reel Only time it was actually the reel for me was when it wouldn’t spool back evenly. So 70% was on the right side and 30% on the left, but it was an old reel that was not taken care of. But I’m sure it’s the casting technique and brake/tension setup. Dont throw so hard when learning.
  4. Ehh, the videos are whatever. I respect the fact they found a way to monetize what they enjoy. Sellouts? Nah, the dude going to a job he hates with people he can’t stand for far less coin for 30 years is a sell out. At least they’re chasing it. Privileged? Probably. Don’t really ‘get it’? Assuredly. But life is filled with folks who don’t and come out winning. and they’re winning. No question about it. We all have dice to roll. Theirs came up snake eyes.. Still won’t buy their baits tho..
  5. Walmart is good at selling things.
  6. Was an 03 Dodge Ram, until AJ Foyt decided to run a red light and total it and side swipe the boat. So now it’s a 08 Yukon Denali with 1.4 million miles and 2 car seats... 2 car seats..
  7. ^man you ain’t kidding. Just got an issue of FLW and I thought it was a catalog...and not drop shot weights or lure dye either. Pic of some dude in a boat with the morning sun coming up and the caption ”Only $68,459” Right. ‘Babe, we’re going to sell one of the twins and the lawn mower. I like this boat.’
  8. Yes. Fish have been caught with a jig from shore. 1/4, 3/8 probably your best bet. Straight out, 45, parallel, pitch, swim, drag..try it all
  9. One thing I do enjoy about fishing with someone is you learn something. An 8 year old or 93 year old can and will teach you something if you look and listen.
  10. ^you ain’t kidding. Smart as in passing the SAT? No. But smart as in reacting in real time to their environment? Then yes, that’s a different kind of smart. Like Hackney says “the big ones don’t make many mistakes”
  11. Oh man that’s awesome! Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina is my dream. Thought I’d retire at 37. Didn’t happen. I do have one more scratch off ticket in the truck tho.. good luck man and enjoy!
  12. After fishing alone for 95% of the time I enjoy fishing with someone more. You can do things like talk. Finally found a partner that’s as ‘in it’ as me, so that helps. Loading/unloading the boat is a whole lot easier as well. Plus after you catch a big one alone, you kinda just look around. Sorta like doing heroin alone, not as much fun...I would suspect at least
  13. Pull up to any lake in Polk County( that’s in central Florida)..in the middle of the week. Middle of the day in a thunderstorm..they’ll be 27 boat trailers. Going out on a limb and saying that’s why they’re harder to catch. Boot camp. Everyday. Conditioning. This is backed up by zero scientific data but a whole bunch of field data and PBR.
  14. First part of the year was fabulous. 7 fish over 6lbs, one over 9 (all largemouth). Last 3 weeks ? Logged 28 hours on the water with 4 bites...oh and swung and missed on all 4. When you go 7 hrs without a bite, you tend to be like a 16 year old on prom night...slightly overzealous
  15. Wow. I own a hammer..and still need the instruction manual. Thats cool.
  16. They must’ve been following me around for the last 2 weeks here in the Fla. I heard giggling coming from the hydrilla and had a bass come out the water, look at me and say ‘brah...come on. You should take up karate instead..’ Been that rough.
  17. Adidas Creator Long Sleeve. *shameless plug for my employer* Also Badger makes an awesome Ultimate Softlock for $22.
  18. What these guys do not put in any article is that they fish. A lot. While we’re at work, they’re fishing. While we’re pressure washing the drive way, they’re fishing. while we’re acting as if we enjoy dinner with the in-laws, they’re fishing. And have been for years. So while details always matter, to the average guy looking to catch fish on his day off, we just want to tug on a couple. The ultimate goal is to sell stuff. Period. Take what you need out of it, discard what you don’t and set the alarm to meet at the ramp at 5:15.
  19. “Yeah Im not far off. I still throw a spinnerbait from time to time. I throw them on a 6'8 medium/heavy fast rod with 15 pound flouro. I dont really see how a changing my line will help but Ill give anything a try for spinnerbaits.“ Line change will effect it. Go as light as you can get away with. But it ultimately comes back to confidence. I been beat by a 7 year old with bread and a bobber. Why? Every cast he felt was gonna be a record. Catch that first one and your off to the races
  20. Lake Henderson is good. Lake panasoffkee used to be really good, wouldn’t know now. Crystal river, homasassa springs isn’t to far. Lake Rosseau. If you have a boat, be careful here. I think they flooded an Amazon rain forest as there will be tree stumps literally 2 feet outside of the channel for MILES! Lake Henderson is your best bet.
  21. Trilene XL. Cheaper than a can of Skoal
  22. Moving water and wind=moving baits usually
  23. Huh? I thought you bought one on the spot that was good for a week? Guess there is a benefit of living in a big(ger) city where murder is a more pressing issue. They couldn’t care less around here. I seen a man with a pole, bucket and live bream getting on the city bus. Chances of him having a license are roughly powerball odds. Your situation is odd to say the least.
  24. Yep! Spinnerbait as well. Like a baseball glove, needs to get broken in.
  25. It went on so long due to his ‘legend’ status. Almost exactly like coach Sandusky at Penn State but far less sinister. Dusky literally wrote the book on linebacker play. As in he actually has books written by him, so it went on for so long because everyone was like “coach dusky?, nah ain’t nothing going on..” When obviously there was. They won some substantial $ out there in those tournaments. I was thinking 800-900 per win...negative
