Anybody had the Rona?
My neighbor's wife recently died from it. He said she instantly became terribly ill and died three days after it hit her. He said that he had it, too and didnt even know it. It'll come back. Things could be a lot worse, considering.

2021 Zillion SV TW, JDM vs. USDM
I have to upgrade nearly all of my reels to 100mm handles. When the whole hand size thing became part of the election in 2016, I learned from hand size charts that were circulating on social media that, unlike I always thought, my hands are not small. Instead, my palms are actually bigger than what is normal. I then realized for the first time that it was my big clunky palms that were the problem and that they were getting in the way when it comes to these small baitcaster handles. Does anyone know why they use the smaller handles? Is it for hand size?

2 Curados. 1 feels like it has more tension on it when retrieving
If a reel has the drag backed completely off, it can cause the gear or drag stack to get misaligned. That could cause this. Could. No way to know for sure. Could also be a grease issue. Best bet is take it apart, clean it and properly grease/oil it. I find a very thin layer of Cals grease on everything except plastic gears and bushings works best. I don’t keep any plastic bushings in my reels anymore, but back when I did, they slowed everything down if they were greased.

Spinning reels without reverse
- Curado MGL 70 vs. SLX MGL
Don’t even get me started on kids. Even their Roblox guys get an allowance of $10 a month to buy virtual clothes with.- Bluegill cranks
Sigh, yes, but unfortunately, not where I do most of my fishing. The bass actually have eyes that are set towards the front of their heads and I can literally see them angle their eyes to be side by side in front of their faces. I think one of the thing that makes the fish in my avatar look much smaller than it is is the eyes, because they are positioned differently because the fish have big foreheads that slope downwards towards the mouth. It’s very noticeable when I see them in the water, the eyes look straight ahead because they are positioned on the curve from the side of the body to the front of the face. I wish I was fishing for bass that don’t rely on sight for hunting. I always consider these bass as fish that are literally always looking for something.- Once again...
ouch, that’s terrible Not until I got home. I should mention that it’s not a good idea to pee immediately after dicing habanero peppers either....- Curado MGL 70 vs. SLX MGL
Neither would I, the Aldebaran is a much better reel. One of my favorites. There’s always something better around the price of the Curado. Hence why I never got a Curado in the past. I ordered a Curado BFS because it’s only 189.99, if not, I would’ve went with something else, too. The X-Ship makes a big difference to me, especially on a fish, it makes small reels feel more solid, IMO.- The Educated Thumb
- Curado MGL 70 vs. SLX MGL
They are basically the same reels, with different bearings, colors and .2 grams worth of lighter/heavier material. The Curado adds X-Ship and micro module gears.- Bluegill cranks
Does anyone have an explanation why? The only thing I could ever come up with is that bass don’t really like to eat bluegills.- Once again...
Not for me. I only get it if I have a scratch in my skin. The worst part is that I always stick my thumb into the sides of my pants to pull them up throughout the day. Both of my hips have the impression of my thumbs burnt into them as poison ivy.- Help ...
No, it’s me, but that is very kind of you. Weightless? How heavy is the worm?- Help ...
Set the mags to max. Reel your lure four inches from the rod tip, tighten spool tension so the lure falls to the ground slowly without overrun when it hits ground. Cast. Then as you get better, loosen the tension and lower the mags. But the weight you’re throwing matters, too. If you’re casting 3oz on a rod rated for 3/4 max or you’re casting 1/4 on a rod rated for 2 to 4oz, it’s probably never going to work no matter what you do with the reel. And then there’s the line. The wrong line won’t cast either.- Oh the woes of a bass fisherman and his finances
I have a problem with wool sweaters and north face hoodies, too. It’s not just fishing for me.- Once again...
Could be worse, you could have poison ivy on the back of your hand from breaking off a snag and holding onto the poison ivy vines while climbing on steep poison ivy covered rocks to find fish.- Best baitcast reels?
- snelling a hook bass fishing
Depends on who you ask. Depends on what type of hook and what technique.- Uses of a sensitive baitcasting rod
I agree @jimmyjoe sensitivity means different things to different people. I take “sensitivity” among bass fishermen to mean a rod made of very rigid, very thin and very light graphite.- TW. Order vs Shipping dates
Waiting on an order from ***, the Shimano reel is “preordered” the Megabass rod is “backordered” - I don’t want to get flagged as political, but I think “Covid” delays are a code word that means a certain country with lots of people, that makes nearly everything, is slowing down production because two major countries that have all of their factories there, claimed they caused the crisis or blamed them for making it worse. I don’t think blaming the online dealers like *** and the producers like Shimano or Megabass is warranted. Covid has changed a lot of things. I don’t think it’s something that dealers and manufacturers have control over.- Fish ID (Bad Drawing)
it’s possible, but it looked like 4 side fins. And there aren’t supposed to be any sculpins here. It was also distinctively striped. It wasn’t blotches.- Fish ID (Bad Drawing)
I’m in NY, which should kill plecos by December. The fish I saw looked something like this pic but with shorter dorsal fins, rounder side fins and more stripes. Shorter looking bodies, too. They were fast, so it was hard to get a good look. According to the internet they can also crossbreed with other plecos. Which I’m assuming could happen if a bunch of people tossed different ones. There are manmade things in this water that affect temperature. This lake never gets ice. No matter how cold it gets outside. I see that the bass are already post spawn now and spawning now, too. Which is way too early, by months. There is a filter system, with some sort of large moving blades somewhere in the water that actually pulled a kid that was swimming there under causing him to drown some years back. Swimming was always prohibited because of that. Fishing was for a long time, too. I still fished there when I was a younger, with a hand line to not be seen. - Curado MGL 70 vs. SLX MGL
