thanks for the concern. Acutally I have a home made anchor/dragging device that I use everytime I go to that cove. It consists of four pronged grapple that weighs about 5 lbs. I then strung 4 weighted 12/0 treble hooks off of it. It's pretty windy by me, so it acts like a drift sock with the added benefit of grabbing whatever is below. My lake being very weedy, the contraption loads up with weeds pretty quickly. I actually had a bit of a heart thumping moment the other day. I was pulling up my "anchor" and noticed a light brown stick like object coming up. For a moment I really had my hopes up but the light brown stick like object turned out to be a light brown stick. :-/ LOL! Well this might be a sign of things to come - maybe itll show up soon.

Ive read that GRASS is good for grass carp (no joke - fix some lawn clippings on to your hook somehow). I believe fishing for grass carp and regular carp are two different stories.

FYI the online code equivalent is APRILFF25 only good til the 15th. Has a million exclusions as well but works for rods n reels. (doesnt work for the aqua-vu i wanted!!argg)

i suppose you could just put a loop in the line so the bullet weight couldnt get past it, but line still slips instead of pegging to get that advantage as well... no ideas for the ticker though! (and some might argue the loop can weaken the line too)

A 7lb bass in a NW lake sounds like a destination lake to me? Ive actually fished Silver only once, but it was in the fall during the pre-winter feed and I caught many many fish (and I pretty much suck at bass fishing right now). Most were dinks but the numbers were there. Maybe take a break from the hunting for a day and try it out in the fall? gl
