  1. sounds like a good day even without the fish man! nice one!
  2. Single/dbl hula grubs on a jighead or trigged dragged over the bottom. I also like a splitshot 4" lizard or a slowrolled spinnerbait as well.
  3. t-rig tail up is one of my go-to baits.
  4. it just doesnt stop! nice fish
  5. I swear you've used this one before ;D
  6. gammy G-locks and hula grubs are one of my fav combos as well!
  7. Yea I'm having one hell of a time finding something suitable for my needs. I'm almost thinking I might get a custom build, but then I'd be spending more money than I would like.. ugh. Being on foot sucks sometimes. What washer did u put in the Cardiff?
  8. Well after being hung up on wanting to use a spinning rod for swimbaits I'm slowly starting to change my mind and might have to learn how to use casting gear :'( My previous problem of portability still lives though, and I need this to be a 2-piece stick. Are there any swimbait specific (or suitable) rods that come in 2 pieces? I mostly plan on throwing baits on the smaller side like the mattlures baby bass, bluegill, castaic 4~6", and some smaller hardbaits like the kiwami gill, wake jr, shellcracker. I may eventually want to throw a larger plastic or two like the hudd or the bbz's. Anyways - anyone know of anything that will fit the bill? It will be matched to a more budget reel like the Shimano Cardiff or Okuma Indura Idx. thx!
  9. I go home skunked a lot of the days I'm out there. Just a part of the game for me. I usually don't try to do some "last minute tactic" or throw on a "skunkbuster" just for the sake of catching something that day, but if I feel that must be done I usually just quit bass fishing and hook up the ultralight for some panfish action. Bass are often incidental catches during that anyways.
  10. Lol i know what you mean man. I love how cranks look (some), and i love buying em, but when it comes to actually fishing them i seldom do it. I think i will give this one a try though.
  11. nice man. still trying to bring in my first one.
  12. LOL just what i was thinking.
  13. Have you used this thing yet Trig? Im thinking about picking up a couple in the perch and bass patterns if they work well. I like their fat profile. Maybe put a feathered treble on the back hook.. Can you really run it suuuper slow like they say?
  14. thats a beauty!
  15. LOL i thought i was the only one who ever did that - my dad once ran downstairs to "catch me" watching something else but he saw it was just a fishing show. I still got in trouble ;D
  16. nice nice nice!
  17. For starters, the colorado blade gives off a lot more vibration than the willow blade. so if they water was real murky with low vis, you might want to use a colorado blade for more thump. Etc..
  18. I'm normally one to say that if you get a record like that I'm not opposed to someone keeping it (although id rather a repro) but with the story behind the fish, 2 awesome c&r's, it saddens me a bit to hear this pig is going on the wall. Great catch nonetheless.
  19. trolling cranks definitely works.
  20. those are uncle buck, not uncle josh. totally soft plastic - i wonder if they float or sink slowly? kinda small at 2" though...
  21. Anyone know what this might be? Raul, T-rig? http://www.calfishing.com/reviews/bluegill/fw_bluegill/index.html And do you know of any other hard bluegill/sunfish imitator out there? I am really liking that style of bait (I have the Giron and Kiwami-Gill now). thx (Ps those Vagabond baits are spendy!!! :'()
