Deps Realiser
Wow - a bait I have that t-rig doesnt!!! It is a great looking bait. Has a pretty exaggerated side-to-side wobble that looks fishy. The feathered treble in the back is real nice too as well as the photo finish. I did swap out the hooks with owners, but they are decent stock trebles. The bait floats, but will sink a couple of feet with a fast retrieve, and surfaces very slowly. Great for fishing like a big jerkbait almost. Ive only been out with it once to test it out so no fish yet, but I am confident I will get some next yr.

Keeping a bass as a pet?
There is a huge difference between harvesting a fish and sticking it in a tiny tank and forcing it to swim around in its own filth just for your viewing pleasure. The fact that bass are NOT people is reason enough to discourage this practice, since we have REASONING powers that a bass does not possess. Just because something doesn't have the same mental capacity as a human doesn't mean they don't deserve to be treated with respect. This is coming from someone who couldn't spare two s**ts for PETA.

Least Favorite Fish to Catch?
Squawfish/pikeminnows. I'm always catching a fat one every year that makes me think its a big smallie until after 5 seconds it just quits fighting and I pull it up to the surface to see its a pikeminnow.

Swimbait help...
The smaller 2-3lb fish will still hit the big baits, FYI. Fish the big ones to go after the 6-8s you are talking about, and you will still stick the 2-3lb fish!

Can't win em all, But I'm off to a good start

Keeping a bass as a pet?
There are some marine associations (like AMDA) that have wholesaler lists and whatnot that do captive-bred stock - you could find out where your local store gets their animals... I am not really sure on the freshwater side - but in that case I usually dealt with hobbiest rather than stores so I don't know too much there. Sorry if my last post came across like a jab - that wasn't my intent.

Keeping a bass as a pet?
You already prefaced the point with the fact that you are supporting this "harvesting" via your $$'s. I understand your intent in saying you are providing the fish with a life, but that one fish that doesn't get bought at the store is one less reason for them to harvest them wild in the first place. Like when I used to keep reef tanks, I made sure to only buy propagated corals, and not wild harvested. The same can be applied to tropicals - buy fish bred in captivity. Not only are you circumventing the harvest process, but the captive-bred fish are more suited towards aquarium life as the generations go. I understand there are some fish that can't be bred in captivity, but thats another can'o. All IMHO of course.

2-piece MH/H casting rod?
Hey Trig, yea I never bought that deal about them being less sensitive. Ive used 2pc rods my whole life and I do just fine The K's Labo rods don't go heavy enough, and the Tailwalk is a little on the expensive side... thx for the suggestions though!

2-piece MH/H casting rod?
haha i think i got the gist of it with various translators and my very limited vocab from high school long ago. Im glad he spoke about the graphite/blank construction! Plus I am just really kind wanting to get a JDM rod for the finish/appeal. Any chance he has used the Olympic/Graphiteleader Bosco?

2-piece MH/H casting rod?
Thx for the XML suggestion - they sound like nice rods. I wasn't aware that Cabelas had rods like that as well (always look on basspro myself). Raul you were right, I got a quote to around $130 shipped, so both rods are about the same price (the slicer is actually cheaper since that is the shipped price...). Decisions decisions... not like I have the money right now anyways ;D Now I just have to convince the GF this should be my christmas present...

2-piece MH/H casting rod?
Is there some other place to order these to the US or is plat the way to go? If I'm reading it right, they want 8600 yen to ship a 6ft6in rod.. isnt that like 70 bucks??? 2 pc cheaper to ship?
