  1. Yup, because quality 2-pc sticks are d**n near impossible to find here. I've also imported a couple JDM 2pc rods as well, but have a few customs too.
  2. shoot 6 blowups is still an action packed day compared to many you may see ;D GL out there
  3. search - we've been over this one before
  4. Top: 3:16 wakebaits (baby, JR) for wakes, lunker punker for walking middle: huddleston deluxe 6" and 8" ROF12, Triple trout bottom: mattlures ultimate bluegill, 3:16 mission fish
  5. 6" hudds mattlures trout 3:16 baby wake. no reason u cant go full size on any of these baits either.
  6. Other ways to rig it is to insert a weight inside heavy enough to keep it from wobbling too much (hollowcore or mojo) and thread the line through the body and tie on the treble on the bottom. not weedless this way of course but in open water can be good to up the hookup ratio. I don't care for them much either but they do have their place I guess - IMO people are buying up these hollow body/paddletail baits and thinking they are "swimbait fishing" when throwing a basstrix or a berkley bait n your MH rod is pretty much nothing like say... chucking a 8" huddleston on a dedicated swimbait rig.
  7. hey BM - any plans for a 1/2oz cavitron in the future?
  8. love my 692mh - probably will add a spinning rig in the future.
  9. last i heard (couple weeks ago) it was at full pool. Dunno where the fish are right now (only hit that lake a few random times a year myself) but its a structure lake fo sho - I'd be looking for a map and finding deeper structure next to potential spawning flats.
  10. I like fishing em like a jig best but you can swim them too. Not too fast though Ive found or they tend to roll.
  11. the hate jus means that he's got enough followers to have haters now - real deal son! nice fish btw
  12. d**n nice sack!
  13. listen to WRB, and buy that okuma reel sitting in the classifieds...
  14. I'm really a late adapter when it comes to using swimbaits but all of the video clips I have seen display this very thing. The angler quickly works the fish to the boat. There is a big weighty chunk of plastic with a single jig hook pierced in the mouth of this bass - chances are it may not be in the hard part but the membrane as well - no sense in playing around and letting the hook work loose. Skim that fish across the surface if u can ;D If you work a stinger setup like Fish Chris' then at least you have a more direct line to hook setup and itll be harder for them to shake it, but they still very well can.
  15. Going over structure and open water is definitely great, but i think if you are limiting swimbaits to just these situations you are missing a lot of potential opportunities. I like to run my swimbaits under/over/past a lot of cover as well. I do agree the single jig hook baits are harder to hang, but I've done it plenty of times ;D (probably a testament to my skills as an angler as much as the stuff I was fishing) For the og poster, football heads are a staple here in the NW for smallmouth. just my .02 of course.
  16. u must not be chucking them in all the right places then
  17. sweet sack Matt!
  18. 6" Hudd huh? I hope to replicate at least one of those fish this weekend! Awesome as usual Chris.
  19. Wats up biz. Do u ever deadstick the wake jr? Deadsticking and slapping the tail was my favorite tech with the baby wake. What kind of conditions do u look for if you do? I just kinda randomly did it to tell you the truth next to good looking cover. Funny how the wake jr looks small now too ;D.
  20. FWIW, I snug the hook all the way up inside the bait towards the front as far as I can when I fish the MF. Also, the superline hook they come with are great. Ditto on the bending. Never had the hole plugged myself.
  21. as always, very nice!
