Nice reel and i do have one (casts a mile), but I was thinking like Metaniums, Aldebarans, Bantams, or Scorpions.

I'm looking to sell a bunch of equipment and focus on getting something nice from Shimano. I'm curious what you guys would get and why.

Curado K HG uses
What techniques/lures are you using for this reel? I was thinking Texas Rigs, Jigs, Bull Shads, 1/2oz Buzzbaits and 1/2oz Jighead Swimbaits.

What the ideal Daiwa SV reel for Crankbaits
Can anyone help me on an SV reel for cranks? I'm having hell with the T Wing system with leaders (braid to a Fluoro leader gets hung up), but I like the reel, I just figure I'll save leader duty for the Shimanos. Maybe I'll have better luck with a single line of Fluoro or mono with moving baits. Any suggestions?

Medium Extra Fast uses
I don't like spinning rods for shakey heads or wacky rigs. I feel like I have more control with a baitcaster.

Medium Extra Fast uses
I am trying to pair my SLX MGL with a rod. I think I may have found it but I'm just making sure I have what I think I will use it for. I plan on getting the SLX Rod in Medium Extra Fast and the lures I intend to use come as follows: Wacky Rigs, Shaky Heads, Flukes, Finesse Jig, weightless senkos-worms, Mojo Rig, 3/8oz < Spinnerbaits, small Texas Rigs, Tubes Will this set up get the job done?

What reel for throwing an A rig
Daiwa Tatula 200

Daiwa Tatula 150
I'm going to get slammed for this, but I think the Tatula 150 is every bit of the reel that the Curado K is said to be. It's a tank! $20 cheaper. It's a hidden gem. I love throwing jointed swimbaits with it.

How Much $$$ on a Heavy Rod
I think heavy rods have their place and are very specialized. If you own a boat or you constantly fish lily pads or structure then i could see the necessity to spend high dollar on a rod. For me, I don't come across many situations like this, so my heavy rod is the cheapest in my arsenal. I wouldn't spend over $100 for one or try to find a high end rod on clearance. I think you have to ask yourself how frequently are you going to use a heavy rod.

How are all the DC reels?
I love the sound of DCs. It's like finding a putter and golf ball combo that feels and sounds right. I don't think the DC reel outperforms the others, what it does do is prevent backlash, for me at least. It's a great beginner's reel for learning baitcasters. I am more partial to my Citica I 200HG and Curado I 200HG. Older technology, but workhorses and very durable. Whether or not they are worth the extra money, well some people prefer Toyotas over Lexus and vice versa.

Uses for a Curado DC 6.2:1
Tatula CT 7.3 is doing the work there. Here is my line up. 6.2:1 Curado 150 DC w/ Dobyns Fury 734 12lb Fluoro chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, Underspin 6.2:1 SLX 150 Dobyns Fury 705cb 12 lb Fluoro Small Spinnerbait / lipless crankbait / Movement 80x / Wakebait / squarebill crankbait 6.3:1 Curado 200i HG Croix Bass X 6'8" MXF 12lb Mono jerkbait / topwater / weightless senkos-worms-flukes-Mojo Rig *Mojo is the opposite of a Drop Shot...peg your weight on top about 8-12 inches above the hook. You can use a split shot or pegged bullet weight 7.2:1 Citica 200i HG Dobyns 735C 30 lb Braid 1oz to 1/2oz Football Jig - GRID IRON, Pitching and Flipping Jigs 7.3:1 Tatula 150 w/ St Croix Bass X 7'1" MH 17lb FluorTexas rigs, jighead swimbait, spook style baits, Swimbaits (Bull Shad), Swimbaits-CONTENDER, 6th Sense Flow Glider 130 7.1:1 Tatula 100 w/ Duckett Triad 6'10" MF 12lb Fluoro Wacky Rigs, Shaky Heads, Flukes, Jr. Scout, Mini Klutch Lipless, Mini Recon, Lil’ Juicee Jig 7.3:1 Tatula CT w/ Duckett Silverado 7' MH 30 lb Braid 3/8oz Casting Jig- JUICEE JIG, Swim Jig - Grass Hero , Hummer - Buzzbait 8.1:1 Fuego CT w/ Duckett Silverado 7'4" Heavy Fast 50lb Braid Frogs It feels like the lure is controlling the reel not the reel controlling the lure. I'm thinking maybe a Curado K or Tatula 150. I need more beefiness.

Uses for a Curado DC 6.2:1
Yep, in a perfect it would be a crankbait reel, but I'm using the SLX as my crankbait rod.
-
Uses for a Curado DC 6.2:1
How are you guys using your 6.2:1. Mine isn't ideal for chatterbaits, spinnerbaits or swim jigs, which I initially thought it would be perfect for. I have it paired with a Dobyns 734 Fury. What would you use this reel for?

Cool Story...Neat purchase
There is a local guy who owns a tackle shop. I was curious, so after work I stopped by and found a mint condition never been used Curado 200i HG. We started talking and I offered to buy it. He must have been in a good mood, because not only did he sell it at a great price he threw in some aftermarket bearings that have dramatically improved the performance! I spent $150 for the reel. I felt this was a great deal. I really like the way the Curado looks. It reminds me of a Poor's Metanium. The bearings have really made the reel extra smooth. He machines his own bearings. He says he can take an SLX and turn it into a Chronarch. Now I'm not a technology geek, I have no idea if he is full of crap or is sincere. All I know is the reel feels like an upgrade. Sorry guys...had to share this.

Shimano SLX XT
I suppose I'd get the XT for $129.99 new. There are no good deals out there for Shimano equipment. I guess I'll be patient and see what's out there.

Shimano SLX XT
I haven't seen much publicity on this reel, so I figured I'd get some feedback. I'm looking for a reel that is similar to the Curado K minus the $200 price tag. In a perfect world the Citica 200HG would be to my liking, but you can't find them. The SLX XT reminds me of the Bantam and looks like it's plenty capable of throwing a Texas Rig, Flippin and Pitching a jig, which is what I'm after in this reel. Now minus the 150 spool from the XT vs the 200 spool Curado...is this a decent alternative for pitchin, flippin, and the occasional Bull Shad 3.75?
