  1. The 735C in grass with a 3/8oz and a RageTail Menace was deadly. 4 fish, ranging between 3 to 5 pounds. Keep your 744C. I'm happy with this one.
  2. Curious what reel you are using for your Champion 744C. What techniques?
  3. Kadens jumped off the shelf quickly my friend. All sold out.
  4. I would most likely use the 744 in light cover using 3/8oz casting jigs and football jigs with trailers. 744 would also be my swim jig rod. I assume my 735 could handle 1/2 to 3/4oz jigs. I do have a 734, but it's my favorite Texas Rig rod. Could I get away with using swim jigs and jigs 3/8 to 1/2oz on the 735?
  5. In your opinion is it worth the money to buy the 744 Champ if you have a 735 Fury? I'm using it for jigs. Are they about the same?

  7. What has been the most durable creature bait in your experience?
  8. I need that one. Put it on a shakeyhead or 1/8oz pegged Texas Rig
  9. I'm going to go with Nines. Under $100 for well made polycarbonate lenses are hard to beat. They also carry glass frames too. They are about $160, but still cheaper than Costa's polycarbonate lenses. Great warranty too.
  10. It really pains me to say that the Googan Trench Hawg Jr. has been a proven winner for me. I have been fishing it on a pegged 1/8oz weight. The only gripe I have is they don't last. I have to replace entirely too much after a catch. Curious about your go to creature baits.
  11. Dobyns Kaden 735CB The Spinnerbait rod!!! The 703c is a great squarebill and trap rod.
  12. Yep, no use for a 5 or 6. Jigs and worms on that reel. Moving baits belong on Daiwas.
  13. I bet you can't find a Bantam! Been trolling Asian Portal for months!
  14. Wow, man I'd love to know what online company is selling Metanium reels for $360 and not $419.99 with tax giving you just about $456 and change.
  15. Here are the facts. You can't find Bantam reels. They are all sold out and when more come available, they sell out. Metaniums are easier to come by, most likely because the Bantam is priced right in the sweet spot. It's hard to justify almost $460 for a reel. I've always been told to spend on the rod not the reel. Which why I got the Chronarch...great reel by the way.
  16. The 703sf is not a good choice for Ned Rigs. You can't feel the rig while working it. You are better off with a 702.
  17. Do you want cool technology and reel that is virtually backlash proof? Or do want a reel that is pretty versatile with with a shallow spool. I like a DC for moving bait and a SV TW for bottom contact lures.
  18. I guess that's where we differ. Personally I don't see the purpose of a 70 a smaller reel that doesn't hold much line. Now, I will use a 70 for jerkbaits as you said. However, if I want to pitch and flip, it makes more sense to use the 70, and Im getting the XG or 8:1. The Daiwa Elite Pitch and Flip is very good as well. The regular Elite comes preset to prevent overruns. Give me a Shimano 70, let me loosen the line tensioner, and pitch and flip jigs and Texas Rigs all day. The Elite/100 is perfect in the wind too. Just a perfect crankbait reel. But hey, some people use over/under shotguns, while some use automatics and pumps. It all boils down to personal preference.
  19. Well, remember the Elite has a Flip/Pitch version. I've just always pictured the Elite as a bomber and the 70 as a short cast reel. In fact, that's how my Chronarch MGL functions, a Texas Rig pitchin' machine, my Scorpion MGL is my jig reel. I have a Daiwa Tatula 100 and it is essentially a dressed down Elite. I can bomb my Tatula 100 and I use it for bladed jigs, swim jigs and spinnerbaits. I didn't mean to thread jack, but I really think the better comparison is the Tatula SV TW 103 and Curado 70. The SV has a bit more line capacity and therefore has a bit more versatility. Apples to apples I feel like you get more bang for your buck with SV. In fact, on YouTube, there is a testing of both these reels side by side. It's very comprehensive and answers a bunch of your questions.
  20. Probably get more line and distance with the Elite. The 70, makes a ton of sense if you were to use it for flippin and pitchin. It's all relative to the technique. Elite for bombing moving baits, 70 for short casting.
  21. There's a train of thought to go higher on the rod than the reel. Usually the more expensive the rod, the more sensitive. For bottom baits lures (jigs, Texas Rigs) I want to feel everything so I'll spend a little more. Moving baits, is where I tend to go a little cheaper, and maybe pay more for a better reel.
  22. The rod i really want, the Kaden 735CB, is out of stock. They are even out of the Champion XP 735CB. I wonder when the next release will be.

  24. The Shimano Scorpion MGL, makes a great opinion for these techniques.
