  1. Looks like BPS added a new and improved Speed Shad to the line up. 33% softer with a bigger leg kick, some different colors, and a $1.50 less than the Keitech Fat Swing. Also comes in the same sizes as the Keitech’s. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-maxx-speed-shad
  2. My favorite setup is using the Dirty Jigs Swim Jig in Warmouth color with a Keitech Fat Swing Trailer in Crystal Shad color.
  3. Thanks much Reel! I’ll check that out today. ??
  4. Thankyou guys, I will definitely start closing it with my hands now. ?? WRB that’s sweet you brought up the smooth drag thing. For the past 10 years, as soon as I buy a reel I almost always immediately change out the drag washers for the smooth drag carbontex ones. And I’ve been happy ever since. And most certainly when they are the felt washers like in the Sedona. I will be doing the light maintenance on them like you said as well. Thanks ??
  5. I’ve got a 2 year old Sedona that doesn’t get used heavily. Over the last 2 months the bail sticks and is difficult to close so I have to use my hand. Any thoughts on what the prob is and how to fix it? Any help is much appreciated, Thanks
  6. Thanks greatly man, this is perfect!
  7. When I’m out there fishing weather it be along the rivers, ponds, or lakes I’d like to have a tripod or something so I can actually take a photo of me w/ the fish. Do you guys have any suggestions on any of them that are easily portable and not cumbersome to carry around. Thanks much!
  8. I’ve actually gone out a lot, and not once have I seen any bluegills out yet either. My two best days were using live large shiners(golden roaches) under a bobber.
  9. I know dude, there was no way I was going to try today. I want to relax while I’m out there.
  10. Whoa that’s going old school for sure. Good luck man?? I keep using an underspin and a Keitech, but want to get into bigger fish so am going to change it up.
  11. Thanks for the suggestion Junger!
  12. Great minds think alike. Yesterday I had just bought those for that very reason. ??
  13. High all, I’ve got the 2.8” Keitech’s for my 1/8-3/16 Underspins. I am now looking to purchase some Picasso Weedless Swimbait heads for 3.8” Keitechs. What weight and size hook would be best for this size? Thanks much
  14. No I haven’t. That sounds like a great idea. Thanks for sharing that. I’ll go ahead and give it a whirl. That could save me some money for sure.
  15. Hi guys, I’ve been having a lot of success using the Underspins and Topspin’s with swim baits this spring. This is the first time using them for me. But there is something I’ve been noticing. When I get strikes on the Coolbaits Underspin they tend to pull the Keitech swimbait back off the bait holder. When this happens the wire bait holder cuts right through the Keitech head, so much so that it won’t stay in place anymore. I cleared through two packs of keitechs really fast! So I switched to the 1st Gen Topspin because it has a different bait holder on it. It’s not wire like the Coolbaits. I’ll post pictures on here. You can see how they are different. Well on the 1st gen I was getting the same strikes and the swimbait would be pulled back but it never tore anything. I could keep pushing the swimbait back on and it would keep working. Have any of you guys experienced this with the Coolbaits bait holder? I was trashing through too many baits. Thanks
  16. OP here, I asked cause I am just starting out as a Jerk Bait fisherman, especially the suspending type lures. But I’m unsure if there really is any True suspending baits out there. Only thing Ive ever gotten into was using top water or shallow Xraps, nothing that went deep. In the waters I’m fishing right now I’m looking for a suspending bait to be at around the 5’-7’ deep range, or at least somewhere close to that. Thankyou all of you guys for all of your awesome help and suggestions. After checking many of your choices one that jumped out at me right away was the MB 110 Vision and in the Colors HT ITO Wakasagi and Clear Laker. Those two colors are spot on for the waters I fish. So I will be picking those up. I’m checking on others right now as well.
  17. I’ve never really fished the suspending jerkbait arena at all. And am looking for some excellent lures to start with. What would you guys recommend for the best lures in this category. Thankyou!
  18. ? That was awesome. That is for sharing your vid! Yeah I just started on the ponds 3 days ago. Yesterday I caught a bunch. If I stayed, I would have got them all day. Things are heating up. ??
  19. Thanks for Sharing that HenryPF. That helps me to feel a bit better about myself now. Lol Actually the majority of my fishing is in the Plainfield/Shorewood area also. So that really helps. Good luck at the PP lakes man! ??
  20. Checking to see how you guys have you been doin in northern Illinois for Largemouth fishing recently. I’ve been out a number of times this year but it’s been slow. Any good reports in your areas? Thanks much!
  21. Excellent Answer! I fish live bait primarily in the middle of summer til the end of summer. I do this because the lakes I fish are hammered with fishing pressure, and by that time of the year they become pretty difficult to catch on artificial. So I have to go to a different tactic. And since I know that bluegills are their primary food source in the these lakes I start fishing with them. And let me tell ya , the average bass size I catch at that time definitely goes up compared to when I use artificials.
  22. That sounds good that they sorta resemble a goby, cause my river is chock full of sculpins which kinda look similar to a goby. With it floating I’m hoping it’ll give them something different to look at.
  23. Thanks for the reply an review bud. I’ll try a package out just to see what’s up.
