  1. Omg, so sorry everyone. I totally forgot to send the pic! I gotta find it now, then I’ll send. Dang it! I can’t freakin find it now. Which tics me off. It was an odd looking fish caught in a local pond. It looked like it was a cross between a carp and a shiner. Was 13” long. Lacked the barbells of a carp, but had the golden scales of one. And it was far too big to be a shiner. I know pretty much all freshwater fish in the area really well. But I have never seen this one. It looks like something that should have been in the river.
  2. It was caught in Chicagoland suburbs.
  3. What are you guy’s favorite Craw trailers on jigs?
  4. Senko with an offset 1/16th oz jig head works everywhere for me. And I always have the option of wacky rigging it. In Green Pumpkin.
  5. You only get one lure. What is the one that you are most confident you can get many Bass on in a River, Stream, Pond, Lake, Huge Lake, pretty much any body of water?
  6. That was very cool they gave it back. And totally funny about your daughter not using it again. Lol
  7. Oh man, those are awesome stories. Good samaritans all around!
  8. Not very often I go to a fishing spot and find a lure like the Ol’ Plopper Layin around. In my favorite color too. I left a sign where I found it with my phone number and message stating if they lost their lure and could say what it was they could call me. I’ve left stuff behind before and always wished someone did the same for me. We’ll see. If no one claims it, I could always use it.
  9. Dude, sounds like a pike to me. Or something with teeth. I couldn’t really see the carp sucking it off the hook though.
  10. Thanks everyone. I’ll pick up some of those BPS ones. Will the small ones work on say 8lb. Fluoro ?
  11. Hey guys, Im looking for the best way to keep my Texas rigged weight in place. Im definitely done with the tooth pick way. And I’ve seen many different methods on the internet, from the rubber Boober stops, to peg-it system, and so on. What method to you most recommend that with hold the weight in place pretty good? Thanks
  12. Thanks for that Awesome info Tom. Ok, so I was using Bass Pro Offshore Angler Extreme Fluorocarbon. It does say that Seagaur makes it. I’ve used it in the past with no problems. Hoping that going cheap didn’t cost me this time.
  13. Temps have been in the high 80’s for a couple weeks and the past several days have been in the 90’s. I usually keep my rods in the car in case I see a spot I wanna fish. I have pretied 8lb. Fluorocarbon leaders on my rods for tossing 4” senkos for finesse fishing. Past few years I’ve caught lots of nice bass on those setups with no issue. Today I had about a 3lb largemouth on and then the line snapped. I had my drag right and everything. So I grabbed my other rod and casted that out. Had another bass around three take it. I’m reeling him in and the line snaps. Really T’d me off man! ? lol Anyway, so do you think that heat could compromise my line. I don’t want to give the excuse that I simply bought a bad batch.
  14. Shouldn’t be an issue at all, thanks kindly for the help and suggestions man!
  15. Team9nine im using a braid mainline 15lb. Then I would be using a Fluoro leader for invisibility. My question is about the leader lb test. I use Seagaur Blue label for leader.
  16. Hi guys, my jig fishing will be anywhere from 1-15’ depths. I mostly fish 1-10’. I’ll be using either 3/8oz. Flipping jigs, or 1/4oz. swim jigs. Cover will be sparse and NOT thick when I do cast into some. What lb test do you guys recommend for these applications. I typically fish with a Fluoro leader. Thanks much!
  17. When you guys say an “Arky” head jig, what do you mean? I’m familiar with Most jig styles, not sure about that one.
  18. Terrific advice! ?? Based on everyone’s help looks like I’ll be getting swim jigs in bluegill and warmouth color. I think I’m going with the Dirty Jigs because I really like the color patterns they offer in these two. And then casting jigs in Green Pumpkin for clear water. And Black/Purple/Blue for either stained water or low light conditions.
  19. Thankyou very much for those tips man!!!
  20. Would 3/8 or 1/2 be a better general use size?
  21. I never use to be a jig fisherman. Actually never used them till last year when I started using a finesse jig tipped with a craw soft plastic for smallmouth. After having good success with it I’d like to start using them for largemouth, but I see there are a bunch of different kinds. Casting, flipping, swimming, finesse, and football. If I’m just starting out with these is there one style that is more for general use? And what is a good starting size? Thanks greatly!
  22. I ended up getting Titebond 3. Will apply it tomorrow and see how she goes. I wanted to get UB-40 for maybe extra durability, but titebond 3 was right here at Home Depot.
  23. Can I find any of those glued locally or would Gorilla 2 Part Epoxy work?
  24. Actually when I fit it back on you can’t even tell it cracked off. It connects that nicely. I just need to glue it when I pick up the glue from the store.
