I ned rig 3” senkos when fishing a small river here in Illinois for smallmouth. I keep using it year after year cause it still catches them. When I ned rig it, my favorite hook is the Bass Pro XPS finesse offset tungsten Jig head. I love it cause I can rig it weedless. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-xps-tungsten-offset-jighead
  2. Senko Keitech Fat Impact Tube Hula Grub Yamamoto D-Shad (or Fluke) Honorable Mentions: Berkeley Power Worm 6-10” Berkeley Straight Money
  3. Has any body fished these before, and what are your thoughts.
  4. Is this something that I reapply after each days use, or will it last for a while?
  5. I just got that exact look about 5 minutes ago when I asked for it. And then the secondary look given after I said I was for a fishing lure.
  6. Lol that’s a good point. My ocd has a tendency to creep up in these matters.
  7. Thankyou very much Bankc
  8. Hi guys, i just received some of the Cool Baits Underspins, which I hear the eyes pop off often. I was considering removing them and trying a stronger glue. Would you recommend this idea or no? And if so, what would be the best or strongest glue for this application. Thankyou
  9. That’s a good point.
  10. Just checked these out, they do have a solid selection of colors. Oh geez, I’m going to get overwhelmed by all these diff choices of tubes.lol
  11. Thankyou greatly for all of your suggestions guys. Well I’m buying a mixed bag of tubes, since I will always be in need of them. Im getting in the 2.5” size: 1. Net Baits Tube 2. Berkeley Power Tube In the 3.5” size: 1. Strike King Coffee Tube 2. Berkeley Power Tube 3. BPS Tender Tube Ive always had confidence in anything Berkeley Powerbait offers, and that’s why I chose those here. Then I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Coffee Tube and the Netbaits so I’ll give them a whirl. The more and more I see how things work out, I’m sure I’ll be trying out some of these other offerings you guys shared. Some of these other companies I was previously unaware of but will look to in the future like that Provider Tube you suggested Ajay.
  12. I know there’s a ton out there, and any can work, but what are you guys favs?
  13. Here in Aurora, Illinois. I fish the Channahon, Shorewood, Joliet, Plainfield, and Aurora areas.
  14. This is a bit off topic. But this Curado talk got me thinking. I own and have owned a lot of nice reels over the years from freshwater to saltwater. A lot of different Shimano spinning reels, Penn Reels for saltwater, and Abu Garcia’s for catfishing. But still to this day those Curado 300E’s were my favorite all time. They were totally bulletproof for me, and I could use them for Bass, Musky, Catfish, and at one time some Saltwater fishing. Obviously I couldn’t use them for finesse bass fishing, but it got the job done with other techniques. I loved that thing. But one day I was catfishing, stepped away to check my bait bucket, and when I looked back, POOF! It was gone. Fishy took it bye bye. I had a $150 St. Croix rod and I believe the Curado was like $350 at the time. Pulled into the depths. ? Hard lesson indeed.
  15. I was in Bass Pro today and got to handle them both and check em out. Difficult decision. I’m normally a Shimano guy when it comes to bass reels. So there’s a leaning there, but the Lews did seem a tad smoother. I guess I can’t really go wrong. I can buy one now and then later down the road after I’ve fished with it for a year, I can see about getting the other. I can’t say how many years ago but it was a lot, was the last time I owned a baitcasting reel for bass. I owned two Curado 300e’s when they first came out. The green ones. It seems like baitcasting reels have got smaller over the years. Those Curados seemed larger than these new ones.
  16. Thankyou for mentioning that about the line size and also about specifically going with the leader lines. This helps much man.
  17. With my budget I’m looking to buy a $100 Baitcaster for general use Largemouth fishing. These are two of the reels I’ve come across. Which do you guys feel would be the better reel? Also, for being a general purpose reel, what is the gear ratio I should be getting? Thanks greatly!
  18. Thanks for all your help Cbump.
  19. I’ve always trusted Big Game for most of my fishing in the past. I’m going to have revisit it. ??
  20. Thanks for bringing this up. My main reason for using Fluoro is being worried about line shyness. I fish a clear river out here for smallmouth and and number of the lakes for largemouth are decently clear also. But I have been wondering. Do I really need to be spending all this money on Fluoro? Would I be totally fine using mono? It would be great to here what people thoughts on that are. Thanks again for bringing this up!
  21. I love that idea. Thanks for sharing man!
  22. Hi guys, my set ups for bass fishing are all spinning. I use a braid mainline(10-15lb) and will be attaching Fluoro leaders. I’m don’t have the lure arsenal like a lot of you guys. I’m pretty simple. I fish senkos, plastic worms, jigs(smaller ones), Keitech swim baits, and the such. What is a good lb test Fluoro leader to use for general bass fishing. Thankyou!
  23. Thankyou TnRiver46! Whoa, it looks pretty darn close. Like you said, it’s definitely in the family. I sure wish I knew where I could consistently locate them, cause I’d be using them for bait for sure. And thank YOU Bass302 for sharing that link!
  24. Here it is, I finally found the photo! It’s actually not 13” like I originally said. I hadn’t seen the photo in a while. I guess it’s a “Striped” Shiner.
