  1. Yeah, there are probably a couple in there. You may not see them but they are there! Just be aware. Topwater fishing will usually attract them.
  2. First of all, be aware of the gators at sunrise! ?. Fishing down here is tough right now with the heat. You can start with topwater but if you don't get bites fish the bottom with plastics. The bite, if you are able to find one usually ends by 10 a.m.
  3. That is a tough place! Never had a lot of luck there, always had a hard time locating fish. Did you fish LS on the way to GS? Never broke 2lb in either place!
  4. soflabasser......Bingo! People that come down from the north have watched too many Roland Martin/Scott Martin shows! ?
  5. I go down there walking on occasion. I have never fished there but have spoken to a few guys who were fishing. People claim to have caught bass in the 3-4 lb range. Most guys I see fishing are throwing plastic worms. There has to be some good ones in there. Looks like plenty of areas to fish, you can also rent a kayak and take that out. Post how you do if you actually decide to fish it.
  6. Oh, well in that case, sushi for everyone! ?
  7. I kayak fish and also bank fish. Most bass I catch are close to the bank and in cover. Get a few in open water, but not many. Every pond/lake fishes different. You will have to experiment and see what works. It is hot down here now. The bite, if there is one, is usually done by 10 a.m. Good luck!
  8. That tuna is worth some cash! I'd be selling that as soon as I came in! ?
  9. Tough time of the year down here. The dog days are upon us. Try to get out at first light. Try topwater, poppers, frogs, etc. Watch for alligators, they love topwater baits! As it heats up go to worms, senko styles, flukes, etc. Slow it down. You should be able to get a few. FL fishing is nothing like Roland Martin shows it to be! ?
  10. Hey Mike, are you going out in the rental boats? 16 SM kept you busy anyway. ?
  11. You live on the south shore. You don't have to travel far to find them. Plymouth is loaded with ponds/lakes. Go to the MA wildlife website.
  12. At least you found some fish! Toying with the idea of hitting it the beginning of Sept. after the crowds thin out.
  13. The dog days are upon us! It has been a real tough bite. Florida Mike, I agree, you have a couple hour window early a.m. and by 10 or so the bite shuts right off! They certainly aren't chasing. TR worms and wacky worms are the only baits getting me bites.
  14. Belgrade Lakes area is supposed to be very good. Can't say from experience!
  15. Nice! No WS this year!
  16. Spent a week there many years ago. Can't recall much about the fishing. I know I caught a few. But what I do remember is the place was a zoo! A lot of boat traffic and I'm talking big boats! It will be very busy on the water, especially in July. Give it a shot, you can always move on. There are many lakes and fishing opportunities throughout that area.
  17. Why? The game is at 8 pm! Go Bruins! ?
  18. The best way to find out is to fish it for yourself! Nothing to lose but a few hours of your time!
  19. Yeah Mike. It is an old ammo storage facility right? Who knows what was dumped in the water years ago? It may be the cause of the dark water and lack of growth of those fish. I know the small pond you are talking about. There is another small one that is separated by the path, that used to hold a lot of fish but it dried out a few times over the past few years. But, it is nice over there!
  20. Wampatuck has to have some big fish in there! Getting them to bite is another story. I fished there for years and caught one 5lb from the bank. Some big pickerel do lurk in there though. ?
  21. Google maps really isn't your friend! I gave up chasing ponds because most turned out to be private property or not accessible. Talk to other fishermen when you go out! You won't get their honeyholes but you may pick up a few new spots. It's a lot different fishing than up north. I hate the lack of species! If the bass aren't biting you can't switch gears like you can up north. No trout, pickerel, yellow perch, white perch, even the crappie are hard to find and don't willingly bite. I have been terribly disappointed Florida fishing! Good Luck!
  22. That's some very good cold water bassin! Very good for anytime of the year actually! ?
  23. Bass fishing in FL is frustrating to say the least. I have never seen so much private property. I have stopped wasting my time chasing water using Google Earth. As stated, these bass are super finicky to any weather changes. It's not as easy as Roland Martin makes it out to be! ?
  24. Roland Martin makes it look that way! ?
