  1. I might have missed it but I didn’t see anyone else mention the setups that I’ve used a good bit lately and had some relatively solid success. Now obviously if you’re going for a Texas rig or something then I use a straight shank Berkley Fusion 3/0 or 4/0 if it’s the magnum size worm. But I’ve had a whole lot of success using an Owner 3/16oz keel weighted swimbait screwlock hook. I’ve swam it like a swimbait and also I’ve kind of worked it like a fluke. Both Junebug red and junebug have worked well for me
  2. I’ve had luck with it in grassy areas but the frustration of constantly pulling grass off the Bend gets old real quick. I’ve had my best luck using two 1/8oz bullet weights when the bottom is hard or something like sand. As long as there’s no grass or pads I’ve got confidence in it. It’s got its time and place in my bag of tricks for sure. I try and almost get mine to sit as flush on the bottom weight as I can. If not, it’ll get hung up
  3. Picked up a Dobyns 734C for $165 today through DSG. I was able to stack two rewards totaling $30 on top of the rod itself already being on sale. Used the free shipping option as well. Now....fingers crossed it comes in as it should, in one piece.
  4. Same as everyone else has already mentioned....Pad crasher. The Spro bronze eye frogs are good too but kinda pricey. I think I’m the odd man out here when I say I also had good luck with the Lunkerhunt frogs. Only issue I had with them is durability. Any decent fish and it was almost a given you’d lose a leg.
  5. Picked up one of the Abu Garcia Hunter Shryock combos today. Was looking to get another Revo X so I pulled the trigger. The Revo is $99 and I ended up with that combo for $120 before tax. Rod feels pretty nice too. I think it’s a win for me.
  6. Told myself I’d only get a couple. Turned into these 4 and another 2.4 inch one that I didn’t have in my car with me.
  7. Enjoy! Used a 3/8 dark sleeper last weekend and had great success on it. I’d throw right behind my father in law who was throwing a wacky rig or his Zoom sand colored lizard. I’d say more than half the time, I’d get the fish that kept playing with his emotions lol
  8. For sure. Vilecraw has been nothing short of awesome for me. Might very well be my #1 plastic
  9. Biospawn 40% off code USA40 works for Vilebug, Exostick, and Plasma Tail
  10. Magellan shirts are great for the price. Right now they’re BOGO half off (at least I believe they still are). With that being said, I’ve got Columbia shirts as well and they’re definitely lighter feeling but for the $35ish price, I’ll get two of the magellan ones.
  11. Academy just posted the Military and First Responders 10% off discount again.
  12. American legacy has 25% off certain G Loomis rods, 10% off Minn Kota trolling motors and the 25% off Sunline is back
  13. My local Academy has a lot of rods on sale. Seen the Dobyns colt series for $54, Fury series was under $100 (can’t remember actual price), Veritas and Vengeance Rods also had good prices.
  14. Was wondering how they’d work with a micro chatterbait. I’ll definitely give em a try
  15. Weekly ad is good until the 22nd. I’m not 100% sure but that’s usually when it’ll expire.
  16. Biospawn buy 2 get 1 free code DAD. I try to buy a good bit when they have sales cause they’re hard to find when I need them lol.
  17. Aaannndddd x4
  18. If you’re trying to run it just below the surface, a lighter hook will almost help it to pop up. When I use a weightless fluke, I use a Gamakatsu superline with a screwlock added on. So yeah it’ll make a difference on the depth for sure.
  19. Came here to post this.....too slow I see.
  20. Will second this. First jerkbait I bought was the ripstop. Following week was a couple of 110’s. Haven’t looked back since. They’re awesome
  21. I’ve got an Abu Garcia silver max spinning reel that has been nothing short of perfect. Zeros issues for me and I’ve used it in fresh water at Toledo Bend and in brackish on the Sabine River. It’s usually $40ish at Walmart and sometimes cheaper on amazon and eBay. No experience with either one of those so I can’t really give my .02. Just wanted to give another option.
  22. I’ve had both and the accurist was a much better reel for me. Once it was set, it was just that....set. No other adjusting other than the spool tension for different size lures. I used it for Texas rigs and Tokyo rigs mostly. The overall smoothness of the reel was night and day when compared to the Icon. The icon to me just felt a heck of a lot lower quality of a reel if that makes sense. Casting distance on it was ok but took a good while to get dialed in. The price of the icon is great. I won’t argue that. But after having both I’d say the accurist is the way to go.
  23. @Catt well then.....good to know lol.
  24. @Catt yeah that’s where I live. We got very very lucky. If I say sulphur most people have no idea where that is lol
  25. @Catt y’all get hammered like we did here in SWLA last night into this morning? Couple of my buddies got some serious hail damage to their units and ones in-ground pool got completely ruined when the pump couldn’t handle the water flooding in. Ended up with water behind the liner
