Loomis 844C vs 904C
I'm looking at the 844 mbr as well, how would it handle 3/8 oz. chatterbaits/spinnerbaits/swim jigs (obviously plus a trailer)?

New st croix bass x
Would the guides be braid friendly? I noticed they are some kind of stainless steel with a couple of normal insert guides. Was thinking about picking up a heavy for a budget frog/heavier t-rigs and jigs rod.

What happened with all the 6’6” rods?
I was really disappointed when the St. Croix Victory rods were released they almost completely abandoned shorter rods besides the jerkbait casting rod and then the one model in the spinning.

Hats off to St.Croix
They probably wouldn't need this chart if they hadn't given the entire series really goofy names that only add to the confusion.

New St. Croix Bass X
Where did you snag this rod at? Seems like the main web retailers either just have the older version in stock or say this one is coming late Nov. Great finish at Banner! I fished the Mined Lands event but only measured 2 small fish...

Lure Selection- Spinnerbait vs Swim Jig
Living in Kansas, wind is my deciding factor. I always have one of each tied on when I go kayak fishing.

One more time, favorite swim jigs!
I just put in a big order for some Santone finesse swim jigs. My PB came off of a Dirty Jigs no-jack swim jig in blue craw with a rage menace for the trailer. I’m not the biggest fan of the tuna hook in those though, hopefully the Santone finesse is more my type of jig.

wondering about this as well...

One fishing line... FOREVER
Have you experienced any of the line-fraying that sometimes gets tossed around regarding this line? I really want to make the switch to it as I love the idea, but some of the reviews make me hesitate.

So far this season what has been everyone’s most productive lures?
1. Z-Man Custom Chatterbait/Rage Tail Menace trailer 2. Zoom Trick Worm on a shaky head

Ashamed to say...
Keitechs....fell in love with the action, have never even gotten a fish to swipe at them. Frustrating!

3 Rod Setup- Spinning rod
I just got this rod in a couple of days ago. Haven't got a chance to get it on the water but it is so light, well balanced and well constructed. I also run a 3-rod setup and I got the medium because I've seen people say the Dobyn's rods are a little softer than their rated power, so I figured I could fish all my finesse techniques with the M instead of the ML and be fine.

How do I remove a hook a bass has swallowed?
Maybe someone can help me on this. After finding this board and this awesome thread, I got to try the through the gills method a couple of times; unfortunately only one time was successful. The first a 12" bass sucked down a shakey head, I worked and worked at it, keeping him in the water plenty. Eventually got it out and he swam away just fine. The second, a 10" dink swallowed a small drop shot size hook my father was using with a weightless senko. I assumed it would be super easy to remove. I could get the hook rotated, but it seemed like the barb was stuck. It almost seemed to be the same problem with the shakey head hook, the barb was pulling on the gullet. I just could not get it, so instead of ripping it out I reluctantly cut the line short and released him, but he went belly up instantly, no blood or anything. I felt awful. Obviously I will be crimping the barbs down from now on, but could I be doing something else wrong? I've watched countless videos where the hook just "pops" out when the leverage is applied from below, but that has definitely not been my experience. Would love any advice.

Spinning Cranking Rod
I've been eyeing this rod as well, do you think it could handle DT-6's and DT-10's?

Spinning rod love!
I love spinning outfits; it's what my dad taught me how to fish on and I am more accurate with them and feel more "in touch" with one in my hands compared to a BC. I tried buying a MH St.Croix Mojo rod to throw lipless cranks and Rapala DT 6-10's on, and throwing a lipless was so miserable I never tried the Rapalas. It just felt awkward and too heavy; even though it was well within the weight of the rod.

Hello from Central Kansas!
I donated a brand new rod to the lake on Saturday, was a smooth move right after launching haha.

Hello from Central Kansas!
I actually did not even know Wilson SFL existed!! Add another lake to the list...haha. I've only been to Wilson Reservoir on my kayak a couple of times, haven't really had the opportunity to really fish it more than an hour or so each time (was trying to teach the now fiancé how to paddle and manage a pole in her yak), but I'm planning to really try to learn it this year as it's only about 45 minutes from where I live. Am dying to catch a smallmouth there!

Hello from Central Kansas!
Hey everyone, I've lurked these forums for years now, and learned a lot of techniques and spent way too much money haha. Decided it was time to stop lurking and join up. I love fishing out of a kayak, and plan to do several local tournaments around the Wichita area along with some KBF online/trail events. To be honest I need way more time on the water; I'm struggling to catch fish anywhere that's not a private sandpit. I'm used to fishing a very small local sandpit and struggle in larger bodies of water. Usually we go to Wilson and just recently have been a couple of times to McPherson SFL. I can't wait to learn more from everyone here, it's such a great community!!
