Cool ...Marty has a tricked out jet black Jitter. As much as he swears by them I think I'll get a black one real soon. I have a yellow and green one that I hardly ever use.I think its a neat bait and top water strikes are the best. Post a pic so I can see the mods better. Your making me think I should give it another shot.
  2. Great answer Avid. Family first, Fish second, And hopefully you get both.
  3. Raul is right on the money, I went right to baits in my head as I read your post. Clear water really killed me in the fishing club. It's a totally different world, I had to go to my spinning reel and act like I was after Crappie to get any success. If you can find or can get info from Guys on this site who fish deep smallies in clear water you"ll get all the answers you need. I gathered the best clear water info reading up on smallmouth bass than I could find on largemouth. when you do get hit in clear water it's awesome at what you can actually see.
  4. I'd tell him that....I am currently in the process of having this removed, however since it is not my name being discredited the moderator to this forum will need proof of Identification that you are the person directly affected by this post. I have to inform you that they will be including a processing fee. if you could please contact Al B. Screwed at BR he will inform you of all the details. This is the first time they have had to deal with such an issue and they hope that the kind help they provide and quick service will be a memorable one. Hoping to read from you soonest.
  5. If you look at how long I've been around you'll see I'm really green here! In the last week there has been some posts that have really had people on different sides of the fence. Bass fever is setting in I think. If you look at the number of reads they were hot topics. Watching as everything developed I was curious to see how things panned out. I was really happy to see how everyone who had disagreements had opted to agree to disagree without a huge blowout. If you looked close enough you could see the Moderators seamlessly working in the background. I don't know, They may have been pulling their hair out but either way they kept it running smoothly. Considering that everyone here are from different parts with different ideas I think it's a testament to this site and fishermen in general that we are a breed apart. I belong to a forum that deals with video equipment and lord forbid if you disagree! Hats off to the guys running this forum. I'm sure it's quite a job to keep up on and I'm pleased to be talking to all these members.
  6. My question is if we are causing global warming why are the other planet warming also, and why is it we have not seen the hottest weather patterns recorded. It is recorded that the earth goes through changes in climate. To me it sounds like it falls under the category with the "War of the Worlds" broadcast and "Chicken Little". I personally prefer the right wing Kool-Aid. It has less artificial ingredients! the last two Ice Ages went through a global warming period and we had nothing to do with it.They say the Sun goes through cycles, how can you not figure this into your equation. Many scientist are screaming this but yet some people refuse to hear it. Maybe it doesn't fit there agenda.
  7. Thats too funny, I almost bought a used cordless Makita blower yesterday at a yard sale. I don't need it, probable wouldn't use it but it was COOL! I hate that monkey. http://www.mytoolstore.com/makita/mak1a-06.html Oh man! they want $30 for it with the battery and charger!
  8. Thanks links_man2, That makes it much clearer to me. I knew it never really disappears but I was wondering to what extent and if was truly an advantage to other lines.

I'm just trying to bring a lighter side and cheer up someone in a good light. he obviously needed something to feel better about. Why would anyone go out and try to get someone upset here.. I don't think it was anyones intention. come on guys tags are what give people a sense of who they are or where there from. me ..I live in Texas now but actually I view myself as a uneducated, inbred, redneck, Okie and wouldn't have it any other way. you may think this is hog wash but ya gotta remember I'm from Oklahoma! ;D
  10. I agree with a lot of what you said Phil. I'm hearing that its not a majority in the scientific community that support global warming due to man. and I'm hearing more due to solar flairs, They point to warming trends on all the planets and Ice Ages previous to man to support there claims. Either way I don't really know if throwing government money at it can really stop it but I can see the benefit to the environment. I just totally disagree with the Dooms Day tactic and carbon credits that are making certain politicians wealthy. I wont say his name again. Carbon Credits http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_credit
  11. Yeah I can see everyones point, they are just about everywhere. As far as the other game fish I really enjoyed catching those fat carp, it was like reeling in a fast moving tank. I would like to fish reds sometime and would love to get hooked up with a huge Alligator gar. everything else around here feels second rate to me.
  12. Gore is just positioning himself as environmental liar ...I mean leader. yes it's warming up, I didn't do it. This has been gradually happening for a while and the only reason is being sold as the possible "End of the World" now is that elections are coming up in "08. fortunately this is a free country and we can all believe anything we want. so go believe. If what I said about Gore offends you then I'm truly sorry, and if your mad enough to call me names thats ok and I can live with that too cause I'm married. I hope everyone gets enough fishing in before we all burn up!

You need to realize that you do not qualify as a "City Folk". If I were you I would state the fact that I do not apply to this tag although I live in the city. You can find my name accurately posted under the "City Pro" tag. Don't take it that way,We all know that there are a great number of fishermen in the Cities that respect nature.
  14. I was looking at all of these endless rolling threads being posted on everything to do with Bass fishing and wondered what it was about this fish that has us all Bass crazy? Why not a different breed of fish? Why when I fishing for other game fish it's not as exciting and I'm wondering if a bass will bite? I feel that it's a Super Predator, There isn't much out there that it wont try to eat from snakes to its own kind, and how cold and aggressive it can be but yet so colorful and beautiful. My question for you is why bass? and how do you view this great fish?
  15. I think you have to weigh the odds. First= I don't plan on keeping the fish, If its lucky It will only be out of the water long enough to pose for a picture and then right back in. Second= if the place where I'm fishing has produced good fish for years I think It wont really hurt the fish to loose a few eggs due to my short lived catch. What are the chances that if they make it to fingerling size they wont end up food anyways. I don't go out and target bedding fish, If there bedding while I'm fishing than let the hunt begin. I don't keep or kill fish but at this point I drop the sensitivity. I know I'll probably hear the "What If's". P.E.T.A. They actually put down some of the dogs they save. and the Vice Prez is dependant on a certain drug that used animal testing during it's development. I seen it on a investigative show. John Stossel 20/20. http://www.nfss.org/Legis/Peta-AA/pet-5.html sorry if you don't like my view.
  16. I just spooled Cajun Red cast on my reel and plan on giving it a try this weekend, My neighbor swears by it. My question is... How visible is it compaired to blue or clear mono in shallow water? As far as the line itself, It casts real nice and and seems to feel good as far as the limpness and tightning the knot. Here is their graph, I don't really see where they compair to clear line. you would think that would be the first thing they would compair too. they also state that it becomes virtually invisible in as little as three feet of water.

  18. Great topic. It seems to me that the people with the best ponds have no interest in fishing and your lucky to get permission to fish these large ponds due to that Idiot we have all have met or ran into that throws his crap everywhere and keeps every thing he catches with no regard to the property owner, the effects on the pond, and nature in general. I've lost permission on two ponds due to these jerks who never even had permission to fish them. you know you in trouble when you start finding beer cans around your pond, Beer + Idiot = loss of fishing hole! I wish we could shove a can up their bum so they can see how long it takes to biodegrade.
  19. I got the Revo S last week and I think I'm gonna love it. I like that it has 9 bearings and Centrifugal braking which I prefer to the magnetic dial on the SX and STX. I just wish they would put it on a 11 bearing system, I think they could convince a few of the shimano guys to switch over..Thats all I fished untill this purchase and I think it may be comparable at a little smaller price. It's a newer model so I don't know how it will fair in the long run.
  20. I like to fish it alot like Catt. I think it's called "slow rolling", kinda like fishing a T-rig. I've used the mini spinners this way too with a single Willow or a single Colorado. I use my tandems with a large Willow and small Colorado when I'm locating and I want to cover alot of water...cast and retrieve.
  21. This what I carry on a minimum. I have closet with the with a "Fishing Tackle Retirement Center".
  22. I found that the best cure for this and soft baits bleeding into one another is to keep them in the package they came in so you'll know what to buy when they need replacing and a really big lunch cooler bag, They are insulated so the baits don't get hot and out of shape, and if you get the bag wet it cleans up easy. http://www.amazon.com/Ensign-Deluxe-Insulated-Lunch-Cooler/dp/B000IG47XM
  23. I bought this one at an outdoor flea market about 15yrs ago I think. I dont know anything about it other than its real old and in good shape, it still has the old line in it complete with a backlash. The reel is a Pflueger Supreme and the rod says "Lucky Boy Delta Queen".
