REVO that looks YUMMI !
It's a Revo so I don't think I would be as disrespectful to say ugly, But I personally wouldn't drop the cash to get it. Then again I would drop that much cash on a reel anyway. I couldn't find the link either! :-?

My 4-year-old son caught 1st bass
Very cool, Hope you get the pics off the camera. Fortunately for you there are more days ahead of you just like this. At that age the second, third, and fourth bass are just as exciting!

Insult to injury!
This is the second time he landed the bigger one so I guess I'm getting use to it. I'm just glad he'll fish as long as I will without getting bored or frustrated. We are going to hit a new place today , maybe I can fish my new rod this time. Yes that is a smile of satisfaction that he out fished his old man!

Insult to injury!
If he wasn't my boy I might be sore! Before I could get out of the car and get rigged he had already rigged up, got to the bank, and created the biggest bird nest I'd seen in a long while on his brand new rod and reel. I asked him"Did you balance your bait?" NOPE! He just got too excited, So what do i do now? Hand a Revo SX to a 9 yr old? yeah right! :. What is the other choice, let him be the first to use your brand new setup you've been dying to fish since you got it for x-mas, yep! so not only is he the first to land a fish with my shiny Curado :owith the sexy MOJO rod :PBUT, Then he out fished me with it. :'( what a geat day it was! :-/

BPS Extreme Rods
Another problem with forums, lots of guys that have been around for a long time getting overly annoyed with newer guys asking questions and making suggestions. Too many folks just sitting and waiting to call someone out. Not really so true , Don't let the stars fool you! It made me take a deeper look. Backwoods4bass -163 posts,305 day member. Stasher1 - 362 posts,390 day member. JimmyO - 181 posts, 415 day member. ME= Cravin -220 posts, 758 day member. I'm just saying not everyone is as new as it seems or as old to the forum as it may seem also. It does tell us some have more to say than others. I think I love my Mojo although I have not fished it yet!

Wife called me from work today
Your a lucky man, I was able to go fishing once there and caught 3 Wahoo, It was alot of fun and made many stops there complements of the US Navy. I don't recall ever seeing a ugly day in Hawaii and I hope you wont see one either..safe travels.

Curado Green? Bah! Curado Oak more like it.
One could be chalked up to trial and major error, But two is just a flat out crime! I would treat them like oak and burn them immediately.

Revo STX -vs- Curado E
They are both great reels right? Then the real question is do you want to stay to that frame style that you already have in the Premier or do you want to mix it up and try the new frame on the Curado? I love Revos and shimanos, I was a sucker for a new design and got a Curado E7 but have not fished it yet.

HUNGER!
everything in those photos was PURDY! I really like that Stix combo!

How many rods do you really need?
How many rods do you really need? 1=How big is your closet? 2= How big is you garage? 3= How many can your boat store? 4= How many could you fit into all you closets, your garage and your boat? 5= Do you ask yourself this question after leaving a tackle shop with another rod in your hand? 6= do you think one more may actually affect your marriage? Im stuck on #1,I feel like #5, I would like to be at #4,But would end up at #6! :'(

Hey you Shimano mooks
I like it! but that price tag has me working out with a 7.6 ounce dumbbell so I can continue to throw my Curado all day ;D. maybe in a few years these ultra light reels will have a price I can stomach?

Rod/Reel Brand Loyalty...Why???
RODS = Not brand loyal at all! I have had nice rods I've hated and cheap rods I've loved made by a bunch of different brands and vise-versa. REELS = I like to try to stick with what I know and like, I have returned a few and also gave some away when I've concluded they weren't what I would consider up to snuff. Nothing like buying a new reel and finding yourself fishing with your old ones. >

Scored a new retro Loomis
I think that is so funny at what length you've gone to preserve your rod, I too am a bit picky with my stuff. I always clean my cork with a light soap and a soft brush because I hate a dirty grip, I also cringe when I see someone toss a reel top down in a boat adding rash to a nice reel when just setting it down would have been better. I use the cheap bass pro shop covers because their CHEAP , easy to put on and can cover the whole reel and a lure giving better protection. I might have to try your wrapping system, seems thought out very well, looks very nice and tells alot about you ;D....but that's good!

I'm in love
I think its more than just "its not as good" as "just different". I've always loved Chevy trucks, I bought a Ford. the longer I have it the more things I found I didn't like about the Chevy but some things I found I missed in the Ford. the hard part is admitting each excel in different ways, and both are good products. Some will always refuse to do this. I fish both Shimano and Revo's and there are things Both lack and could gain from each other. I feel that Abu has respectfully put out a reel that can not only hold its own against the mainstream low profile baitcasters but has actually gone up against the legend and still has a dog in the fight. although this may upset some people they still have to respond to posts like this reminding them that its is a viable topic. The real question is what Abu is going to do? are they going to continue with this technology and repackage it or will they advance it and fix their few short comings, Cheaper centrifugal brake, free spool over run causing high brake setting on the SX & STX equaling shorter casts? Will Shamano give us a little more for the cash? Throw in a handle with bearings? Take up the side play in the spool for a tighter feel or new color? If both companies did all of this we would still have this discussion,Regardless of who is ahead and by how far, you must admit there still is a race.

Cajun Line?
it's on one reel right now and have used it for roughly two season. I think it a good mono. Ive definitely used worse but I cant say it excels over the rest, Just seems to be a good mono in a weird color.
-
what would you call this water clarity? PICS!!!
Stained/murky I'd easily throw any color in it, I think Id like a little noise or flash with a bait.
-
man am i having problems!
Nothing really to say WHY? Check you hooks against you fingernail to make sure its as sharp as you can get it and try to muscle them in fast. Ive had this happen to me at specific places I've fished or at specific conditions, (cold or muddy). I've always chalked it up to fish short striking or fish that are more attune to finding there food in extremely low viability. I may be wrong but I think in these scenarios they lightly suck in the bait to check it out or even bump the bait in low viability. The only way I was able to get some success was to do the same as you and pause before hook set with a very sharp hook just in case It was penetration that was my problem. I'm hoping someone here my enlighten us both. :-/

I need your opinion!
Here are a few Id try for that price plus that Diawa mentioned by Rayre. http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0063916123932a.shtml http://www.fishermanswarehouse.com/shop/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=4596 Also The Pro Qualifier LTD at Bass Pro Shop is a nice IM8 rod for $40 if you can go there, I don't think they sell them online.

swivel snaps
I've never been a fan of them, You can learn to tie a fast knot and not deal with it possibly affecting the way a bait runs.
