If it comes with the old school E series type VBS brakes like the Tranx 300 I'm in. Oops, no dice. Oh well.

First Bass of 2022! Let's See Yours!
Amazingly it was 53 degrees, but not this morning. It got up to 66 yesterday afternoon, but temps dropped like a rock, and when I left the lake this morning at 1AM is was 33 and my hands were on fire. 10 mph north winds. Brrrr. It's about to snow any minute.

First Bass of 2022! Let's See Yours!
Yesterday 2/23 at 1:50 AM. Not many chances to get out there with this winter's frigid cold and ice. A whisper under 3 lbs in 38* water. Bucca Baby Bull Shad in pearl bone. My gloves smell like bass again. Ahhhh.

Fishing idiosyncrasies
Between my truck and the lake I need to say three Hail Marys and one Rama Lama Ding Dong. If I mess up on even a single word I turn around and go home.

No doubt. Live to fish another day, literally. But from a competitive standpoint... especially when anyone can rally here at any moment. Has to hurt. Points and wallet. I'm living vicariously a bit.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Somehow the weather gods dropped a few warm-ish days on us which was enough to break up the shore ice at my local spot. Water temp is 38, but air temp was 53, and wind was blowing 20 mph from the south at 11:30 pm. My buddy was packing for an ice fishing trip to NH and leaving first thing in the morning, but I told him I had a feeling, so he couldn't resist. January and February have been rough and frozen here, so it was nice to be able to finally slip a wade in and take a few swings. Pickerel were on the move and biting, and a really nice one gobbled my Beast Coast Miyagi right away. I swung him up on the shore and he did the crazy shake and somehow got off the 6/0 beast hook. He was nicely battered in leaves, dirt, and snot, so I kindly tipped him back in the water. It was just too early in the sesh to get my gloves all slimed up. I missed a bunch of short strikes on swimmers, so I tied on a Baby Bull Shad. A well fed chunker just shy of 3 pounds ate it good and fought far better than I would've thought with how cold the water is. Just glad to get a decent fighter right before we plummet back into the freezer. 20s and teens on the way during the next 5 overnights. First bass of '22. I'll take it.

My most frustrating trip fishing
That's funny. Mine's exactly the same. Even getting her a bagel is made complicated. The worst is when she texts her order to me while I'm on the way home from work, then I have to transmit a novel at a restaurant. So many messes. I got smart and now transcribe her dictates to paper, then hand them to whoever's taking the order. Mama mia

15 MPH N winds with a high of 37* late afternoon tomorrow. Real feel of 25*? Yikes. At least they'll have S winds for the final.

He didn't say. Just talked about solid colors. He has great big Rapala logos on his deck. Odd he didn't name the bait. Didn't look like a 110. I wonder how far the water temps will drop without grass to hold heat? Anyone they've asked said it's devoid of it. Can't recall anyone picking off weeds at all.

Two cold nights in a row with cranking winds...There's a chance they'll get chased out of the chilled shallows into stable water just off shore and group up in small schools where someone will find them and run away with it.

6" huddleston deluxe vs. 6" deluxe 68
You'll be pushing it. Might be OK with the Deluxe, but will be sketchy with a beast hook on the weedless.

They get bit in the northeast in the cold. Do you have the stick to set the hook on it?

Berkley Powerbait Gilly
Bluegill will be locked onto their beds by the middle of June around here. I'll get this bait in between them and the bass and I have no doubt they'll get clobbered, especially in low light.

Tatula......SV TW vs SV TWS
This is the '17 model which is still in production. It has the larger CT frame. The '20 model is a wee bit more compact. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-DAIWARELLS.html?from=basres P.S. The '17 model is prettier, paint and color accents, if that matters to you. Looks more high end. '20 model https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-DAIWARELLS.html?from=basres
