Handle nut for Shimano reel...
Then how did you thread it on in the first place? Sounds like you got the correct nut, but the driveshaft's threads are rolled enough so that the nut pulled off from torqueing the handle. The nut can't simply spin off by itself because it has a locking retainer. Also, the handle is keyed to the driveshaft, so it can't spin the nut off either. From here it sounds as if you need a new driveshaft and nut. If you have a right handed reel, then you need parts for a 150. If you have a left handed reel, then you need parts for a 151.

Ran down to a local spot for a quick morning sesh, and caught a short pickerel on the 1st cast. Followed up right away with yet another perch-eating yellow perch. I thought the one I'd caught last week was just a fluke, but I guess they really are cannibals. Two casts later I got a scrappy bass, and I felt like I was in the right spot for a nice rally, but big birds had other ideas. There were two swans just chillin' when I got there, but right after I nabbed the bass, three more landed in the lake. The original two didn't feel like 15 acres was something they were willing to share, and war was declared. They puffed up into an aggressive posture, and the chase was on. Once they went airborne, wings beat the water from one end of the pond to the other. Just when it looked like it was about to calm down, an armada of honking Canadian geese flew over and crashed down right in front of me. All I could do at that point was was chuckle, then slide on outta there. Hopefully I can get back tonight and fish into the rain.

This is how to handle it
Yeah, you did. No it's not. One situation has nothing to do with the other, so pointing it out is pointless, unless you just want to stink up a thread. Not even close. I mute the screaming chimp sounds whenever he hooks a fish, but this vid was entertaining, so I posted it. Thanks for reminding us that he's been imperfect and that perhaps he doesn't really have the standing to talk back because of KVD and blowing up grass lines... If you say so...

My Dog
We had a big male named Blue when I was a kid. He was a sweetheart, and a good boy, usually. My father kept an upright freezer downstairs for venison, and the bottom quarter of it was a roll out drawer where other things were kept. One day right before Easter he figured out how to open that drawer. He ate several pounds of butter and every single chocolate Easter bunny my mom had bought and froze a few days earlier. The aftermath was truly awesome. He slept in the bedroom with my brother and me, and we had to keep the windows open and sleep under the covers for several days afterward. His silent, noxious, butter/chocolate dogfarts could stop your heart. Neither can we. Ours was bred to trap boar and mountain lions. She'll try to tackle cardboard cutout cats she sees during Halloween. Just crazed. Our entire walk is her looking for cats in every spot she's spotted them in the past.

This wasn't my strength at all when I was younger, but I've learned how to simply clear a path instead of burning down the forest. Goosfraba?

This is how to handle it
And exactly what does that have to do with the original vid and subject? Nothing at all, eh? This is the second time I've posted a vid with a pro in it where someone here felt the need to chime in with an off topic implication about how this pro really isn't a "good guy", or something to that effect, and even with your disclaimers, that's what you've done. It's called threadcrapping, and personally, I think it's an odd impulse. But hey, you do you. Love and kisses.

Yeah, so he kind of deserves what he gets, huh? And KVD was soooo mad at him he went to Ike's house to straighten him out...

Does it annoy you how many people mishandle fish, laying them on the ground and lipping them at a 45 degree angle for pictures?
I pay heart stopping taxes to live in Nassau County. These public waters here and the fish in them are mine as much as anyone else's. C&R is the rule county wide for black bass, period. Even if you accidentally kill one, it goes back in to feed the cats and turtles. Get caught removing a dead one by the DNR and they'll drill ya. However, if I'm in the next county over at a lake with a daily limit, I mind my business, because it's not my business. I do my best to take care of my catches here. They stay soaked in the water until I'm ready to snap a pic, even if my gloves become saturated in near freezing water during the process. I spend as much time as necessary with them afterward to make sure they swim off vigorously. I do my best to follow the law, and to let them go and grow. Regrettably, I've killed 3 this year with deep tongue hookings, and it knocked the shine right off of the outing for me. I'm not in this to kill fish. If I happen to see someone dancing around with a bass out of the water for too long, or dragging one on the ground, I have no problem tactfully letting them know that they're probably going to kill the fish. No lectures unless they ask questions. Most people respond as if they're embarrassed, then soak the fish or let it go, and nobody has gotten lippy with me yet. I'll gleefully call the DNR officer on the bucket brigades though. Most don't have licenses anyway, or speak the lingo, and the majority of them are ruthless, sneaky, poachers.

Bass Fishing in 2040
For real! By then I'll be way more concerned about still being able to pitch a tent instead of pitching a jig.

The night bite rules here year 'round. It's the nature of our lakes. I'm convinced the bass here, especially the bigs, are spooky due to how close we are to the salt. Big fishing birds come from the salt bays to pound our shallow spots here during the day. It's common to catch a bass here with beak scars from Ospreys, Hawks, Cormorants, etc. They were the lucky ones. The birds win a lot. Besides that, the daytime fishing pressure is nuts. This morning the red army bucket brigade occupied an entire shoreline. I wade, so I was able to go where they couldn't. They like their lawn chairs.- Used baits
I only use screw lock hooks. I leave the screw locks installed, but pull the hooks through the body of the plastic, then rinse them and let them dry. Leave the hooks in and the salt in the plastic will rust the hook. If they're torn at all, I fix them with Mend-It.- Latest Catch Pics Thread
? Been swamped. Too tired lately for vampire fishing, but have no fear, I'll be back at it soon. Believe me, this daylight fishing jazz simply doesn't give me the same spark, and I feel lost without bats buzzing about my head.- Tatula Elite vs Curado MGL 150
Have you had a chance to try out the new Zillion G? SV Boost isn't like standard SV. It's quite a bit better for distance than SV, and not all that forgiving for skipping. It's not the reel for those who need a SV reel to skip.- Curado K Thumb Bar
Yup. 3 in my orbit had this issue including my own. All were from the earliest run circa late 2017. All were addressed. BTW, the kick lever and its grease trough had nothing to do with it. This section is pretty foolproof on the K. The return springs were fine too.- Latest Catch Pics Thread
It really sucks having to miss 2 weeks of fishing, but that's life, and with wind and clouds in the forecast I just had to go even though I was dead tired. Might've hit the snooze button once or thrice, but I shook off the leaden feeling and hit the road. Got going quickly when a cannibal yellow perch ate my yellow perch wake/crank. The cooler water had the pickerel on a rampage, and they were determined to steal my Jackhammer, but I stayed lucky. I was able to unhook them all without touching them, thankfully. I wasn't in the mood to get slimed. Then the skies parted, the wind died down, the sun came out strong, and the bite went bye-bye. Over the next hour I only managed to nab one small greenie on a Jackhammer, but then the clouds returned in force with even more wind than earlier. It was a short-strike-athon for a while throwing my usual plastics, but I got things going again bombing the Livingston Bullnose straight into the wind. Thank you Zillion SV. Got one small guy, then nabbed a solid chunk that fought like crazy and nearly ran me into the pads. Trebles and pads are bad news even with heavier braid, but I only had 15lb Tatsu on this rig. I avoided that test, and was happy to get him in. Good times, and no skunk. I'll take it.- Features For a Pitching Reel
Comfort, which for me means not a narrow spool, and definitely not a high thumb bar. Everything else is incidental.- Curado K Thumb Bar
