  1. Always in the water. I fish rivers and lakes and have found no pattern except in the nastiest blowdowns there are. I fish a lake with stumps and sometimes they're around the stumps other times they're in the grass.
  2. Boy are you tough. Good for you, those are healthy fish.
  3. Last chance this morning and finally caught a decent fish. Caught several small ones and had a good bite. 4.82 lbs. Green pumpkin finesse worm. Withlacoochee River.
  4. The last couple of weeks I've been fishing a big bass lake a couple of times and have struck out. Went with a buddy that has caught lots of big bass and we caught bass but not the ones we wanted. Largest was 2.74. Maybe next winter. Going back to GA and Lake Lanier this weekend.
  5. Go to tackle stores and see what they're using and maybe get some ideas.
  6. 6' ultra light Mudhole blank for bream with 4 lb mono and a 1000 Okuma reel. I'm using it several times a week while I'm in FL. 6'8" Rainforest Immortal fast action 6-14 lb line for finesse worm fishing. Didn't like it so built a 6'8" Immortal walleye extra fast for the same thing, love it. I have been using a 6'2" immortal walleye for several years and wanted a longer better casting rod. I'm using the 6'8" rod with braid and 6 or 8 lb fluorocarbon leader with a Tatula 2000 reel.
  7. Lighter braid tends to dig into itself on a baitcaster.
  8. Congrats, those SM have nice markings.
  9. I was fishing in Beaver Lake when I caught a bass my partner said was a meanmouth bass, cross between a spotted bass and a smallmouth.
  10. Moved to a new state and made a fishing buddy that built brush piles and had over a thousand waypoints on his GPS. After a while he gave me all the waypoints and I've been using them ever since. 20 years. Of course I've found a bunch on my own also. I evened it out by teaching him to finesse fish like I did in CA and he caught many more fish. Since wintering in FL and all the shallow lakes I'm at a disadvantage but still catch fish. On the rivers I fish I throw at anything that breaks up the current.
  11. Is 4-4 the weight or the date?
  12. Fished a lake that I hadn't fished in a few years with a buddy. We caught 13 bass in a few hours and this was the largest. Not real big but fun with 8 lb line and lots of stumps. The picture wasn't sideways when I got it.
  13. 🤩 WTG.
  14. I've been fishing with Shoalbandit for many years and he's the most knowledgeable and best fisherman I've ever fished with.
  15. I used my trolling motor for hours today and it's down to 90%. 45 lb motor on a 16' tin boat with a 50 ah lithium battery that weighs 12 lbs. My reason for buying a lithium is I couldn't lift a 70 lb battery anymore.
  16. Does anyone have experience with Avid boats. My friend has a 20XD and loves it.
  17. Took a friend to the Rainbow River today and they were jumping into the boat. Saw and dodged lots of people but didn't see another fisherman. Beautiful place full of Wood Ducks, otters, anhingas, turtles and other wildlife. Saw 1 small gator. Caught a couple dozen bass from 5" to 3.48 lbs.
  18. The replacement for displacement are blowers and the substitute for experience are the forward facing sonars.
  19. We eat an Alabama bass every couple of week and they're delicious. My wife sautees the filets in 1/2 butter and 1/2 oil with a light flour coating.
  20. With the 70 lb group 27 batteries lithium is the way to go. The footprint for lithiums can also be smaller. 50 ah lithiums will run your trolling motor all day and then some and the price can be very little more or the same if you shop carefully.
  21. Hot sauce for spool bearings, Corrosion X mixed with grease for everything else.
  22. I've been using a Tatula 200 LT with either 6 lb mono or braid with a leader for about a year and love it.
  23. Sorry about the mixup, the fish weighed 3.03 lbs. Yes 4/10 was the date.
  24. I have always had a boat and bought a kayak to fish places I couldn't get to when I moved to GA in '99. I've drug my kayak over more places than I wanted to in the years I've had it. Every year I fish for the GA Bass Slam mostly in the kayak in small river/streams a boat can't go. Fun both ways.

Fished up the river this afternoon for a mixed bag. 4 bass, 2 bowfin and many all kinds of bream. Good weather, not too much wind, low 70s water temperature and cold beer. Withlacoochee River, FL
