  1. Spinning, CRB comfort palm swell. Baitcasting anything with the blank exposed since all I touch is the reel.
  2. Okeechobee Craw lately. 1/2 blue and 1/2 green pumpkin.
  3. 12/27 is the last picture.
  4. I always ask my wife of 50+ years if I can go fishing and never has she said no. She used to go with me and read while I fish but the past few years she doesn't get along with the sun. We bought a place in FL so I could fish in the winter.
  5. Hopefully you're right. That's one of the ugliest bass I've seen.
  6. I usually have 5 lakes and 2 rivers when I'm in FL that I trade off at + the gulf. I might hit more if a friend joins me. In GA I mostly fish 1 lake and a bunch of rivers and creeks for the GA Bass Slam.
  7. I don't exercise much except for some back stuff for 20 minutes a day. I eat fairly well and walk up and down stairs several times a day. I can't fish more than 4 or 5 hours at a time; I get tired.
  8. 50 ah lithium is plenty. I use one on my 16' tin bass boat with a 45lb trolling motor and it lasts for 3 days with 3-5 hours use per day. 12 lbs replaced the 70 lb group 27 that I used to use.
  9. Electric knife. I carried a 12v one on my saltwater boat and fileted hundreds of fish. For the ribs I sometimes used a paring or short filet knife. New blades are fairly inexpensive and come in various lengths.
  10. Went to the dock this afternoon to check on the boat; while there I threw a worm in the water, where else would I throw it. Pulled up a 12-13" LM. A few minutes later I had another bite and the line broke @ the hook. No more hooks so I went home.
  11. Years ago we had a moma and 4 baby skunks living under our bathtub. The shed for our washer dryer was attached to the house and the plumbing was there also. We thought they were cute and gave them a wide berth until one of our son's buddies came over with his dog. It was during the summer in So Cal with only a window A/C. It was bad. Now about the raccoon that came in the cat door, ate the cat food and one day got so full it had a hard time getting out. Never saw it again either. We lived in the city.
  12. Thanks A-Jay. Your site has most of the places I fish in FL.
  13. Thanks guys and girls. I'm headed to FL next week for the rest of the winter and maybe catch a big one.
  14. What is your definition of a "spring chicken"?
  15. Thanks. I think we're pretty well represented on the forum. It's a mutual admiration society; I like your posts also.
  16. One of the lake I fish in central FL has weeds removed by mostly mechanical means and another is sprayed. If they recently sprayed the fishing sucks all winter in those areas. Thankfully there are several lakes and rivers that are close enough to find one that hasn't been sprayed that year. I did catch a fish once.
  17. One day over 60 last week and I had to try to catch a fish. It rained heavily a couple of days before and the lake was red near the inlet rivers. Several fish were right on the bank on points. Ended with 4 with the largest 16" and smallest 13, all Alabamas.
  18. I've had a free hunting and fishing license, including deer tags, since I've been 65 in GA but pay $50 each for fresh and salt water non-resident in FL every year. Cheap @ twice the price.
  19. When I have a spool of line I haven't used in a long time and want to test it I tie an overhand knot and try to break it. Sometimes only the top layers are bad. That said I've been using BassPro Excell mono for years and like it.
  20. IMO there isn't any. Look closely @ what you're buying. My recent Tatula has the A/R switch and I'm happy with it.
  21. I bought a lower end reel recently, couldn't find the A/R switch and almost sent it back. After a month I'm almost used to it. All of my other spinning reels have it and a bunch of my baitcasters do also. XHS Shimanos. I do prefer the A/R switch for lowering the bait to cast. With the drags on the Mitchell 300 and 308s I used to back reel but the newer reels mostly have a decent drag.
  22. Zoom finesse worm.
  23. I personally am a light weight fanatic and use Mudhole SSR or PacBay Minima guides with #5 running guides. Freshwater and inshore and haven't had a problem except for tip tops.
  24. Lots of days but not lots of hours. 2-4 times a week for 3-5 hours.
