M&P Shield 9mm
Definitely get one. Good price. If it's a late model Gen 1 the trigger is pretty close to the Gen 2. The stipling on the Gen 2 isn't worth the price increase. Mine has been really good to me. 2 FTE in the first 2 mags with aluminum ammo, but now I am close to 3000 rounds with zero issues. The break in can be a bit longer than most pistols. At 200 rounds my recoil spring assembly had to be replaced. Put lots of rounds through it. The slide lock release was like cement until the 700 round mark. The trigger, slide lock, and difficulty racking the slide get much better with use. Very surprised how durable the finish has been with countless draws from a kydex holster. No rust issues with a regular wipe down of CLP, and a holster with a high sweat guard.

Favorite Jerkbaits?
Mostly threw them around shallow wood back in late December. Stopped buying luckycraft because they were all floating. Huge fan of the IMA flit jerkbaits. All 8 suspended perfectly out of package this year and caught lots of fish. Did really well with Duo Realis jerkbaits. My only con is the weight transfer ball system sticks sometimes creating an action I don't like. I don't like my jerkbait to suspend nose up either. They do cast far though.

Who Carries Daily.....and What Do You Carry...and Why..?
Check out the neomag. Uses a rare earth magnet and a clip like a pocket knife. Keeps your mags secure and easily accessible. Much faster reloads and better consistency to train with.

Finally took a Saturday off and went fishing. What an awesome day. Overcast and a little over 100. Used a 6th Sense Lipless in the deep grass. Caught dozens of little stripers on topwater too. Side note make sure hooks are sharp and not worn out. Dumped my biggest largie of the day on a Sammy with pretty dull hooks.

Need a New Baitcaster Reel - Help
Tatula SV. If you are patient really good deals pop up on eBay. I got a new Zillion SV TWS on eBay for $220. I've seen Tatula SV for as long as $130. The SV spool Daiwa stuff is awesome.

Palmetto State Armory AR15s
Can't beat PSA prices. Might as well buy now before pricing jumps with election jitters.

Summer Bass Fishing Techniques
Summer for me in AZ is topwater early morning and evenings. Spooks, Sammie, Poppers, Pompadour and the good old frog. If you have grass flats try ripping lipless crankbaits, chatterbaits, or popping weedless underspins out of it. Did surprisingly well with spybaits in the heat last year. Carolina rigs, Texas rig and jigs work great on deep offshore structure and ledges. Here it's like clockwork where bass come up and feed early morning and late afternoon on the ledges. Good luck. Summer can be infuriatingly frustrating, or wide open like whack a mole.

Palmetto State Armory AR15s
Thank you for the feedback. Been reading up and binge watching YouTube on ARs. Pretty happy with the purchase now. The upper and lower are 7075 T6 and the barrel is a nitride 4150V Chrome moly vanadium. Will probably get a cold hammer forged FN barrel upper down the road. Definitely upgrading to a quality nickel boron BCG. Looks like it's pretty easy to build ARs and PSA has some killer deals. It seems building is the way to go.

How did you catch your PB? Detailed account, story time
I was 16 and it was July. Went out that afternoon in 120+ temps to a public fishing dock. I read an article in a fishing magazine about the AC Plug catching huge bass in California. The local Walmart had an assortment of them on clearance for super cheap. I chucked that thing for hours without a bite. Pretty frustrated and I was going to leave soon. Water was very clear and I seen some artificial habitats quite a ways out. Backed off the spool tension knob and cast just beyond it. Started burning it back and she flew out and smoked it. Pretty lucky to have landed it. Back then I was clueless (still am ?) throwing swimbaits on bad gear. I used an old ugly Stik, a quantum iron reel, and 12lb mono. A fella that showed up probably 10 minutes prior to hooking into her ran across the dock with a net. I didn't even have one. He helped me land her. He had a scale too which I didn't have. 7lb 3oz largie. Almost 19 years later still haven't beat it.

Palmetto State Armory AR15s
Anyone purchase the PA15? Looking to get into an AR again. They are $500 right now. I don't need anything top of the line. Just curious of your thoughts on them, and if the dollar to quality ratio is there.

LMB on Long Deep Points - Up, Down or Across?
Break out the 6,8,10XDs and other deep cranks on it. My coworker parallel casts points in depths effective for the lure and always catches quality. It's amazing how deep cranking produces giants. Swing heads with Biffle Bugs are awesome too. Almost like a finesse cranking technique. Done very well on long points with them this year.

Spinnerbait tips
I've always fished them slow rolling with 2 to 3 pops of the rod tip to get those blades to speed up and slow down. Good thread gotta try some different retreives.

Low Hooking %
Last outing lost multiple bass. Very frustrating. Hooksets were solid but they all went straight up out of the water and popped off. Water is 85 so maybe their mouths are softer not sure. Sometimes it happens.

Are there not a lot of bass where I'm fishing or am I doing something wrong here?
Low 70s for a few weeks could mean lots of post spawners, and the dreaded post spawn funk. Maybe try some topwater next outing.

Tight-lipped shallow suspending bass
I would recommend skipping a senko or swimbait right on up to them. The skittering splashes trigger something in their brains and they react to eat. It doesn't spook shallow bass either. If I had a nickel when I've went back through skipping baits after pitching and caught bass I'd have $1.35 LoL. Skipping really draws the reaction bite.

So far this season what has been everyone’s most productive lures?
Would have to say an underspin. Catches bass in 45 degree water to 100 degree surface temps.

Why did every fish I catch get gut hooked?
What rod are you using? Watch your line and don't let too much slack in your line in between your retreives. A good rod really helps with bite detection with flourocarbon or braid.
-
are super long casts worthwhile?
Yes depending on what you are using. Finding bass in massive grass flats can be tricky especially during summer. They are usually concentrated in small areas. Bombing top waters in the morning and evenings to cover lots of water is effective. Sometimes getting that extra distance throwing big glide baits and swimbaits will get them to commit before they see you and turn away.

BEST GLASSES for sight fishing ?
I use a grey lense prescription pair of SPY polarized. Pretty hefty on the cost but my employer covers all cost of ANSI Z87.1 frames and lenses.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
The grass is finally coming in nicely. Balls of shad roaming everywhere and bass feeding. Underspins were great. Use to hate fishing grass now I feel confident in it. Can't wait to throw a lipless and chatterbait around. Have a safe memorial day weekend.

Daiwa DX Swimbait Rods
Been looking a long time at these on tackle warehouse. Does anyone use one and care to share your thoughts? Plan to start throwing A rigs this winter, larger glides and swimbaits. Also open to other budget friendly options suggestions. Trying to keep the value, lower cost, and good performance aspects in my lineups. Thank you.
