  1. If it wasn't for wading creeks and streams for smallies when I was a kid I would have never hardly swam. Now my son is 8 and he went wading for smallies for the first time last summer and has caught the bug as well
  2. I would ask the teams that are whining about not winning to either stop coming if they can't handle loosing or change their attitudes. We fished a club where it was always us or one other team that would win. Non of us are that great just solid anglers that can typically adapt. It got to the point that the guy that was running the club started fudging points so somehow other teams that never won a tournament or won B.B still won points for the year. He also tried to ghost everyone on plaques and trophys that were due to winners at end of year. That did not end well for him. People stopped coming, club quickly consumed itself and disappeared. Mix up the lakes, Offer to pay out an extra spot for every 4 or 5 teams that show up. Pay out 2 B.B spots make a tourney where only one type of lure is allowed to be fished. Jig frog crankbait etc.. Hold kids Derby's cook outs etc... Make it to where people want to be involved. Theirs a few benefit tourneys around here that so many people show up you almost cant believe theirs enough water for everyone to fish but it's for good causes with good payouts and good door prizes that all get donated by local businesses . The sky is the limit when trying to attract people to come fish your events. The best and easiest way though is to eliminate the ones with the bad attitudes.

This was years ago way before the ike jigs came out This may actually be it I will look into them. Just looked into it and these are not it. Most of the head of the finesse jigs is dimpled. Even if I could just find the heads I can tie my own skirts

Bought a pile of these finesse jigs years ago and my stock is finally running out. Cannot for the life of me remember who made them but they are in my eyes the perfect finesse jig. Perfect sized hook durable skirt etc.. the kicker is the have a textured or dimpled head which I think for some reason affects the fall rate sound wave it put off in the water. I do believe it made a difference. If someone has any info on these I would be forever grateful. Main colors I had were brown black and this green color. Hook up to land ratio is near 100% with these and they were dirt cheap
  5. Agree with the above. Often times you'll just "loose" the bait. Speed up retrieve when you feel the fish cross his eyes
  6. Torpedos and tiny torpedos are some seriously good topwater baits . I like the fact that no one fishes them
  7. Believe it or not we have been on a topwater bite since March here in Ohio. March 27th I caught fish on a buzzbait and my buddy was catching them on a spook. 47degree water. Change the baits or colors your throwing. A small pop r almost always gets bit

Seen Timmy Horton pimping these things pretty hard and it peaked the interest of the ole bait monkey

Who fishes azuma crankbaits. What's the good bad and ugly about them .
  10. Give Matt at wildlife by design in Ohio a call. He will take care of you
  11. Try punching a magnum straight tail worm
  12. It's not just this time I have had C.S issues. Some companies I've had to go through C.S are very good. The last two times I had to go through fenwicks C.S has been the same. Had to basically fight them to get them to honor there warranties
  13. Except for fenwicks hoorible CS. I will no longer be buying any more fenwicks and will be phasing out and more that I own that aren't broken yet
  14. Elite tech rods are LIFETIME warranty
  15. Welcome to the broken elite tech club. I recently broke my second one. The first one I had to fight with them to get them to replace it and this one I emailed them 3 weeks ago and have not heard a response back. Worst CS in the industrie
  16. I'm a dolphins fan and this made me laugh
  17. That I do not. I do pick darker lakes on full moon and more clear lakes on dark/no moon nights
  18. I would typically agree with black but I had a night once where I could not get bit. Went to a solid white frog and processed to flat wear them out.
  19. Buzzbaits jitterbugs Colorado blade spinnerbaits big worms
  20. Do what works for you not what people say is ok.
  21. It's all situational. Tournament time 5 bites don't care about dinks. Our lakes around here you better bring it or your wasting your time during a tourney. Fishing with certain friends or my son it's all about numbers. We have numbers lakes and size lakes we fish. The lakes with bigger fish if we are fun fishing we fish for 3 or 4 bites a day for each person (2). Numbers lakes we just try to catch how ever many we can
  22. Just make your buddies think you don't throw it and then when your sending them pics of hawgs just lie about what you caught them on
  23. The males are likely still guarding fry over by you. They just got done doing that here in Ohio around me. If you just want to catch bass throw flukes pop-r and weightless worms I recommend truck worms. For the big girls move out to the first drops and throw cranks or drag worms. If that doesn't work move to the next drops. Weed edges are always money of you can find them. Those big girls are going to be putting the feed bag on.
  24. I live my MG the biggest things I dislike were how quick it would turn on its own. I fixed that by building a rubber sleeve that connects main shaft the the steering shaft and is tightened down to tighten the steering. TH marine sells a purpose built one for 25 or 30 bucks I built one for 6. The other thing I dislike is that the motor goes to what ever speed your on instantly. That you just have to get use to if your on higher speeds. My motor is super strong and super easy on batteries So I love that
