That's a heck of a rig.

From mid 2022 - Dec 1st 2024 I lived the life @throttleplate spoke of above, with my FIL. It's a true test. He and my MIL always treated me like a son, so I did the things a son would've done for his father.

I prefer it on Club crackers and wash it down with a shot of KVD Line & Lure conditioner.

I use the MS crawfish scent on all bottom plastics. I don't believe it attracts fish, but they do hold on a bit longer.

Which is why I figured A-Jay would jump at such a deal, aged BBQ Vienna sausages. He'll look back and have REGERTS at passing. I only offered because he's BR family.

Fished yesterday from 6a -1p and caught 12. Biggest was only 2.57 but they fought great on my light casting gear. It was overcast, cool, and windy. Fished big baits for 3 of those hours with no joy.

I 100% agree with @NorthernBasser

A jigging spoon took me a bit to figure out. The thought of catching fish on a chuck of metal, didn't make any sense at first. The first trip sent me home with 10 or 12 less spoons. TIP - Don't set the hook into trees. I kept at it and now fish them year round on any lake with Shad and Bluebacks. Certain times of the year I'll have 4 rods on deck with spoons tied on. If a fish eats baitfish, you can catch them on a spoon.

I'm gonna get me some of those 2.5" Pro Gobie in Purple Magic & Magic Gobie and show my Spotted Bass something new. A tiny T - Rigged Gobie.

Go and fish the bank. If you can slow down, you'll catch fish. The boat monkey says you need a jon as a stable cold water boat.

Fished today from 5a - 12p and caught 13 on the T - Rigged TRD, Nikko Hellgrammite, and Leech. Tried power fishing and they weren't having it. Waters 68. I'm looking forward to the Shad spawn bite.

I've never had a problem releasing them.
