  1. There is another forum here that is called Northeast Bass Fishing, there are a few threads in there that are just fishermen from Maryland. You may have better luck posting this there.
  2. My main ones are junebug, tequila sunrise, south African special, California 420.
  3. Welcome to the forums! Also from the Buckeye state!
  4. I have never been in this kayak myself but read many reviews and by looking at pics of it, I would say that is a heck of a price for that kayak. I would ask the guy since you work with him if maybe you could meet up somewhere so you could hop in the yak and paddle it around for a little bit and see what you think.
  5. RichF thank you very much for the info. My younger brother fished there over the weekend and caught a 21" walleye and a 36" pike, he was pretty excited. Like I said wanted to see what kind of stuff to bring with me to fish Cross. Didn't know if the smallies were more plentiful or the largemouth. Again thank you for the info.
  6. Right the only pattern I have found is zero fish! I think they all went to another lake! Lol
  7. Hey everyone I have a question about one of the lakes up in your area. I live in Ohio, but my little brother lives near Syracuse and he has been fishing a small lake called Cross Lake. I am coming up that way in July to fish with him, Cross is one place he wants to go fishing while I am there. So my question is have any of you fished this lake and what is the best way to attack it? I am just trying to get a better idea of what to take with me! Thanks in advance
  8. I like any of the Mr Crappie Strike King plastics. The Slabalicious is my best producer, it is a little boot tail grub.
  9. I would probably grab one of three baits. The fluke, a spinnerbait, or a buzzbait.
  10. I haven't fished a Carolina Rig in years, but when I did my bait of choice would have been a Zoom lizard
  11. Walmart sells the Permethrin spray the name brand is Sawyer's. Permethrin is for your clothes, and boots and gear. The 100% deet is for your skin. I think the sawyer's says it last on your clothes for up to 6 weeks maybe, even if you wash them.
  12. The most expensive lure I have ever bought would be the Teckel Sprinker Frog.
  13. Ok I know of Tycoon but never fished it while down there, always fished Lake Logan and the Hocking River. The river was always good fishing while i was down there.
  14. What lake is this in Ohio? I spent a couple years down in that area when I was at college, just don't recognize it from the pics?
  15. Was going to say look up a thread titled subscription tackle services, in the thread they are talking about all the major ones. A lot of them are saying they have had to call Better Business Bureau on Fishing Care Package for not sending them their stuff they had paid for. Sorry I would link the thread but don't know how to.
  16. What is this clean living you speak of? Sounds kinda boring to me! ?
  17. Now I don't know if I can agree with this one! I am only 37 and have been called sir many times by people in that age range. Haha
  18. I always try to check with the older fisherman to see if they are ok. Besides if you didn't talk to those older ones how you supposed to learn anything! Like you said some day all of us may need some help!
  19. Just my opinion but if you are going to get a float tube go with the Cumberland model. It has a stadium type seat in it instead of the sling type seat in that Bighorn float. The Cumberland will keep you up out of the water more!
  20. I fish out of a float tube from ice out till the ice goes back on the lakes. A good pair of neoprene waders will keep your legs warm when the water is cold! I fish out of the Classic Accessories Cumberland tube, it is like fishing out of a recliner all day. You aren't going to get anywhere fast. I wouldn't worry too much about poking a hole in it. It takes some getting used to fishing out of it at first, like controlling the float due to wind and things, but very easy to learn those things once you get started!
  21. Awesome, I am sure you will like it! I also bought mine back in February for around that price range. Had been eyeing the reel since they released it and was gonna get another Fury to put it on but the place I bought it from had the combo on sale so I thought for that price what the heck! If I didn't like it I could always go get a different rod later. Enjoy the new rod and reel!
  22. Don't get me wrong I really like the SLX but like I said earlier I haven't fished it much. Seems like a good rod!
  23. I have a 7'5" medium heavy that I bought as the combo, the rod is decent from the limited use I have used it. I also have a Dobyns Fury and would buy another Fury before the SLX but that is just me. But like I said I have only fished the SLX a few times, the Dobyns I have been fishing for a couple years now.
  24. The creek we fish in here in Ohio for smallies we use 3" Senko or Dingers with a 1/16 oz bullet weight. Then you would be weedless and still have somewhat of the same profile and action of the bait.
  25. Huh not just my sickness around this area? Talk about heaven on earth!!
