  1. I am with you on this one! Nothing better when it is hot and humid than wading a cool creek smallie fishing!
  2. If you went on eBay you probably could have found the glass for about the same price you paid for the plastic lenses! I got a pair with 580G for $160.
  3. I caught my PB largemouth a few summers ago on one under matted grass. I usually fish them weightless on a screwlock hook, swim them then kill it and let it fall they usually kill it on the fall. For some reason the places I fish I have better luck with the Missile baits than say a Keitech.
  4. The green mirror is an Amber base! I find the green mirror helps me see through dirty water better. May just be me!
  5. I have a pair of Costa 580G Rafael's in the green mirror. I am amazed at how deep I can see with them in stained water. I would suggest going to a nearby store that carries them and trying some on to find the ones you like, then get on eBay and buy them! Got mine for $100 less than in the store.
  6. I was going to suggest a Pflueger President combo, but I am pretty sure it is above your price range.
  7. I was also going to suggest a float tube also! I fish from one and enjoy it a lot. The one area I fish is old strip ponds that were stocked with bass many years ago, a lot of them we hike way back to them. The float tube, I carry on my back like a back pack and all my tackle goes in the storage pockets, so don't have to carry it separately except my rods.
  8. I really like the Missile baits Shockwaves! In the fishalicous color.
  9. That is a the beauty of all of it! Baits from years ago still work, it is about what you are comfortable fishing with. Yeah the rods and reels have probably gotten better with the advancements, but as they say if ain't broke don't fix it. I am like many other bass fisherman, where I like buying tackle, I am pretty sure I won't use all of what I have purchased in my lifetime. I also don't care though, it is the one thing I spend money on. As my wife says all the time when I buy something else and feel bad about it. "We work hard for our money and you could be spending it on far worse things!" But like I said that is the beauty of bass fishing, we all do it differently and as long as you do it within the law, then who cares what anyone else says about it. Do it the way you enjoy it!!
  10. I have a pair of the Rafael and they don't seem to fog up
  11. I use the Power Pro Super Slick ( the original) haven't had any problems with it at all!
  12. Thank you very much! I figure it is just like setting the hook on a frog with conventional gear, wait till you feel he weight of the fish? All I know is I really enjoy fighting creek smallies on the fly rod! Tied a new hellgrammite fly over the winter that i am excited to see how they like.
  13. Like I said I am still learning, when you are fishing the popper are you letting it just drift the current or are you popping it constantly? I know stupid question
  14. Look at the Bonafide kayaks also, they are really nice. In fact I am saving up for one right now!
  15. Just throwing it out there but what about the Finger Lakes Region in upstate New York? I have family that lives up that way and there is a lot of water in a small area, meaning you could fish a lot of different lakes. Most of them you wouldn't have to worry about a bigger boat issue. My little brother does pretty good fishing up there.
  16. I have the SLX combo and love it!! Never messed with the LEWS combo.
  17. I always started back from the edge of water when I first started fishing to limit spooking the fish close to shore! But would gradually move closer after I thought I had caught all the fish in the vicinity close to shore!
  18. I went ahead and bought three of the large size today. Had to buy them from BPS which didn't make me happy but TW has them on backorder till middle of June. But thanks guys for all the reviews on them, think I am going to like them much better than my Berkley wallets.
  19. I would have needed a new garage door! ?
  20. Good luck Toxic! Hope you have a blast! I am really struggling in NE Ohio also, can't seem to find the fish. I can't even seem to find the crappie when I take a break from bass. I have friends that just keep sending me pics of fish they are catching in the same area though! Guess the fishing gods have an issue with me this year! Haha
  21. So I see A-Jay and Punch have absolutely zero experience with these bags! Thanks everyone I think you made up my mind for me here. I will be ordering some of these bags for sure.
  22. I think I may grab some of them also! I am going to upstate NY in July to fish with my brother and was just looking for something to keep my plastics organized, move them with ease between the boat and vehicle in between fishing so nothing gets stolen. I just don't like the cheap zipper bags they put in the Berkley worm wallets.
  23. I am just wondering if anyone has any experience with these? None of the tackle shops near me have them in store so I can't look at them! Just wondering if people like them? I have the Berkley worm binders but I hate those bags they put in them! Just thinking the Speedbags might be better!
  24. Welcome to the site! I was just wanting you to get it in front of more people in your area that is all! No harm no foul!
