  1. Well I would have to have one first I guess! haha But no I guess that would qualify as a bad day!
  2. There is no such thing as a bad day of fishing in my book! Tough days yes, those are the days the fish don't exactly cooperate the way we think they should, but that is just a tough day. You still have the beauty of nature around you, and the peacefulness of being out on the water. The only bad days I ever have are while I am at work, if fishing bad don't happy for me!
  3. I would say since the only difference is the length, I would go with the longer rod. That is my personal opinion though, the extra length will give you more control over the fish. But like I said that is my personal opinion!
  4. That would almost make me cry not catching them on buzzbaits, caught one two weeks ago on a black buzzbait. It was a 5 pounder, scared the crap out of me when it hit cause I wasn't paying attention and it almost ripped my rod out of my hand.
  5. Love wading the creek with the fly rod catching brown bass! They will run the line between your legs and tangle you up making it more interesting haha
  6. Thank you for you service! Also fishing can do amazing things for people, glad you found your way back to the greatest relaxation I know of!
  7. I think out of all the stuff I own, a jig is the one thing I haven't caught a bass on!
  8. I really like the size of the SLX because as my fishing buddy loves to tell me, I have girl hands so I can palm it very easily without getting my hand real fatigued
  9. I have the SLX and the Lew's I like them both but like the Lew's the best. Don't have any experience with the other two, other than just messing with them in the store.
  10. I like the looks of that Ned Bug for sure!
  11. That is almost all the time for me! ?
  12. You think like me, every trip should be a fishing trip. I would leave the family at home, then it becomes a better vacation. haha
  13. Wow sounds like you been through the ringer! This is the exact reason I don't exercise, that and I am lazy! Lol. Running is bad! Haha. Hope you feel better soon!
  14. Also as stated above Fly fishing can be expensive just like any other hobby. I have two combos I bought, one 8 wt and the other a 5wt. They were both $150 or less with the rod, reel and line and backing on it. They might not be the best that the Fly Fishing Purists have but they get the job done for me. I have a whole lot more money in conventional gear than I do in fly gear. So it depends how serious you want to get with it, then it may start getting expensive.
  15. The rod and reel setup will most likely have to be a 5 weight to cover all those species. Get much higher and you most likely won't have the best setup for the panfish, go lighter and then you run into problems with the bigger species. Flies I tie are poppers in sizes for both panfish and bass, gurglers, foam ants, clouser minnows, slumpbusters. There are other flies I have luck with but those are my main ones.
  16. Yeah I would say yes! They are a very solid build for the money that is for sure. Great reel so far for me. I like it cause it feels solid and is small for my small hands
  17. You are correct that tomorrow may be too late. Don't put that trip off for sure or you just may kick yourself one of these days!
  18. I bought the 7 foot Med Light for drop shot and other finesse rigs. I have only fished with it a few times but it is well built, just like Dobyns other rods. I really like it, and would purchase another in the future if I needed another rod.
  19. Welcome back, I am also from Ohio the northeast area.
  20. Look at the Bonafide kayaks also.
  21. I think the problem you are going to have with those are the sunlight coming in on the sides of your eyes. Most fishing sunglasses are designed to wrap around your face so that the light doesn't affect you seeing into the water. Aviator style have thin metal arms so there is no blocking out sunlight with them.
  22. I agree with Junger, which one do you fish the most? That would be the one I would put a better reel on.
  23. I agree with both responses, I bought one like you are talking about because I just had to have one. It has done nothing but sit in my shed taking up space and collecting dust. For one I am a big guy and what it was rated for weight wise was a big old lie, second it is very uncomfortable to sit in for long periods of time. Do yourself a favor and don't rush into a cheap one, you will be saving yourself a hassle and money in the long run!
  24. Zoom UV Speed craw or ZCraw
  25. Wow thanks for posting this, I didn't realize that Yum made everything here. I already use plenty of their products, but now I will be using more.
