Trim Motor Failure?
I assume it is like other brands in that there is a part ( can’t remember what it is called) one that controls up and one down. I had that happen on an Optimax. I replaced both. They were only about $30 each. I’m betting that is your problem.

Trolling motor battery
You should charge it up when you get done. Don’t let it set in a partially drained state. You really ought to have something other than a trickle charger. Your buddy is wrong. Never completely drain it. Memory is what you get with short uses of a nickel cadmium battery not a flooded cell battery.

AAARRGG! Connection knot!
When you put the super glue on lick your finger and thumb to wet them then roll the glued knot between them. That will make it smaller.

SwingHead Jigs
I have the molds to make all sizes. I don’t get them to work often. Brush hogs are the best baits I have used on them.

Setting drag - Spinning reel
I think what comes to light here is there is no wrong way to set the drag. If one fishes enough with an assortment of setups a system that works will be put into place. I carry more than 20 setups with various lines and try to fish 100 days per year. This method has been working for me for a long time.

Setting drag - Spinning reel
I guess I am on the other end of the spectrum from Tom and closer to A-Jay. Every setup that I own from ultra lite spinning to my heavy ARig rods have the drag set to slip on the hook set. I don’t worry about the drag slipping when bringing in a fish. If if I am using a spinning reel I can apply drag with my left hand as needed. On a baitcaster my thumb can assist the drag as needed. I do this because I use 6-12 # line most of the time and want to have a hard hook set without breaking my line.

Fish finder frustrating
Do you have a ferrite cloak or one of the rings?

Fish finder frustrating
The best thing I have found for interference is a ferrite choke mounted in the trolling motor power cord.

Where could I go to get my boat and trailer weighed and how much would it cost?
Can’t help on the weight but had the same thing happen. My wife wanted a minivan so I insisted that it have a factory towing package. That added enough extra stuff so that we could use it to pull my boat. i had a Champion 206 with a 225 motor and a tandem axle trailer. Sh pulled it to Mississippi once and to Austin TX. She never had a problem.

Outboard alternator
My outboard always requires some charging when I get home no matter how far I run.

Outboard alternator
If you are going short distances your alternator may not have enough time to recharge the battery. What kind of battery do you have? Series size: CCA MCA RC

How to wire tie a jig
Seibert Outdoors, smalljaw, or Carman might make them for you and leave the weed guard off so you can tie them then glue the guard in.
-
How to wire tie a jig
Are you buying the jig heads or pouring your own? They are so much easier to tie without the weed guard in. If buying can you get them without the weed guard installed?

GRAPH GLASS ~ Updated Review Added
I put mine on and fished in a cloudless sky. 0 glare. I did not notice the screen at all. No problem seeing the screen with my $20 Wally World polarized glasses. It also cleaned easier than the console unit. Next time I am mad at $50 I will get another.

Best spinning setup
Shaky and Ned are 2 of my main fishing techniques. I can’t see how you can adequately do all that with 1 setup. Where I fish you get twice as many bites on the Ned rig with 6# fluorocarbon as any other line. The rod needs to be a ml or l. The reel can be a 1000 size. You might be able to dropshot with it but you need a beefier setup for shaky, at least a medium with a 2500 series reel. The difference in hook size size alone would keep one of me Ned setups from working with shaky. i think you need to be looking for 2 setups.
