  1. I recommend the Alberto and the Pitzen.
  2. Lure Craft, Jann's Netcraft, Bear's Baits to name a few. You won't find plastisol in any hdw store. I use Calhoun's medium from Bear's.
  3. I use a Mustad 90° 3/0 jig hook.
  4. If it is a plastic one like in the pic, just keep unscrewing and it will come out. It probably has 8-10 threads on it and is held in the boat with a T that will allow it to drop down when you get it unscrewed.
  5. That may not be a bad thing. I looked into stocking some of my ponds. A state fisheries biologist told me that to keep them balanced I would need to harvest 21 bass per acre per year and never put a perch back.
  6. I'd be inclined to look at some deep v boat with the lakes that you are planning to fish. With the length of your garage a swing away tongue will allow you to have a bigger boat.
  7. Yes not knowing anything about your motor only leaves us guessing what battery you need.
  8. When I cinch a jig down I don't want to break the thread. I've tried a lot and wound up with upholstery thread and flat waxed. Those are the only two that I don't break. Old braided line comes in handy once in a while.
  9. I run a MG TE82 on a 206 Champion. Rarely do I need any more than that and I fish on windy days. If you want it to stay down fishing into the wind, add some length to the shaft. My boat came with a 67# MG with a 42" shaft. I took it off the boat and put the 82 with a 45" shaft. On windy days the 45 will come out of the water as swells pass under the boat.
  10. Have you tried changing your sensitivity at night?
  11. Yes you can. I have and not noticed any imbalance.

My recommendation is to find some jig heads and skirt material, put a few together and proceed from there. To get into jig making costs several hundred dollars before you make your first jig. Seibert Outdoors, Cadman, or small jaw may sell you some heads and www.fishingskirts.com is a good place to buy skirt material.
  13. How bout a wider angle shot so we can see more of the seat and how this is used. Also what kind of boat is this on?
  14. Most of the Optis that blow are because the guy took off before they got warmed up. I wait till mine gets 118-120° before leaving the launch area. In cold conditions I start it up and check the temp before leaving a fishing spot if I have been there very long. Mine if 13 years old and has 700 hours and is going strong.
  15. I find a log to be invaluable. I have kept one on a spreadsheet for many years. I post the info when I return from a trip or when on extended trips I take along a lap top.
  16. I wear running shoes most of the time when I fish. I only buy the ones that are gortex so wet feet are not a problem for me.
  17. The 24v is way better than a 12v. Oh yes you have to buy 2 batteries but you get many benefits. You get more power and longer power. You never draw the batteries down like you can with a 12v system. Your batteries should last longer.
  18. I also support the MDC. I lobbied for the 1/8 cent tax when it first was proposed. It has done a lot of good and has put 1/2 million acres back into public land. However, they are picky about what they buy. I offered them 800 acres along Crane Creek that has turkey and deer in abundance. They wouldn't even come look at it.
  19. Sometimes everything fails. I just put an lss 2 ducer in my boat. I hooked the old one to my fish tape when I pulled it out. I hooked the new one to my fish tape and did the old tape job. It would not come back through no matter how many times we worked it back and forth. I had to take my hole saw and make a new "inspection port" put the fish tape through it and bring the wire above what ever was causing the block.
  20. Get the Sear's PM 1 AGM with ll50 CCA. I run a 225 Opti with livewell, and 2 hds units. No other battery has held up for me.
  21. It could be either. A lot of my colorants are translucent so no matter how thick I make the baits you can still see through them. You'll just have to try dipping them another time and or add more colorant. How many drops of what color are you using per oz of plastisol?
  22. I imagine that the power button is stuck. There may not be a fix. Do you have an external gps puck? If so then check your connections on the network.
  23. Here in MO it is the law anytime the boat is under power.
