I use the Bakudan drop shot weights. 5/8 oz is the largest cavity in my mold. I normally use 1/8 and 1/4 oz the way I fish it.

Good looking setup bud. Since you won't have to do much respooling with the braid, I'd like to recommend a way to get it like you want first try. 1. Decide how much braid you want on the reel. Cut if off and splice it to the backing line. (I use the Alberto's knot but there are many others.) 2. Tape the end of the braid to your reel spool and wind it on. Wind the backing to the point that the spool is filled the way you like it. 3. Cut the backing and walk the line across the yard to get it off the reel. 4. Attach the backing on to the reel spool and rewind the line. 5. That will eliminate having to much or too little backing on the reel and you are set to go.

The size of weight corresponds to the depth of the water. I use anything from weightless to 1/2 oz. depending on how deep I have to go to get bitten. Most of the time I can get away with 1/8 and 1/4 oz. heads.

You guys need to move to Springfield, MO. The customer service there is fantastic. They even exchanged a fly rod and reel one day that had been burned in a house fire.

I make most of my own so sometimes I will have as many as 20 different shades and color combinations of one size bait. The ones that I purchase I tend to keep to 10 or less.

I had some heated socks and they did not do the trick for me plus the big old battery kept getting in the way. Now I use gortex boots with 800 grms of thinsulate and when it is really cold I use my socks the the pockets on the top of the toes. I put the little toe warmer bags in the socks and hope my feet don't get too hot.

I don' have any of it yet but the 8 is what I am saving to buy.

It was 6° when I got up this morning. The high has been 29° but my boat has been in the glass shop from a careless driver Tboning me on Sept 10 and I am supposed to get it back today. I don't care if the low tonight is going to be 15° and the high tomorrow at 35°, I'm taking that boat out.

Mine are held open by the gas shocks. You can get them at RV centers or auto parts stores.

That is some kind of rear drive trolling motor. I have seen them before but never multiples only one unit.

G I have not seen this hook listed. Before you buy any new ones try slightly dending a few of your 28° hooks and see if they will work. I do that when I want an EWG hook with an Arke head. It has worked every time for me and I don't even have to heat the hooks.

The most easy and simple way to do it is with an onboard charger. If you use one of the batteries as a crank then a 3 bank. If not then a 4 bank. Get a 10-15 amp per bank charger and all you have to do is plug it in and go to bed.

For the typical spinnerbait the wire is too brittle to straighten out without breaking. You might heat it up a bit and get it to straighten but cutting it is faster. A friend of mine invented a way to drop that second blade without bothering the first one. Bass Pro Shops bought his patent and is paying him royalties. I haven't seen any in stores but haven't really been looking either.

I always dropshot with braid and a mono leader. I attach them with the Alberto's knot. Please report back as I am interested to find out how it goes if you are fishing vertically in 15 fow. I can't get them to bite like that unless it is murky or 25' deep.

I keep my skirted jigs in the BPS plastic boxes. I have a box for (3/4 and 1 oz), (a box for 1/2 oz), (a box for 3/8 oz) and (a box for 1/4, 3/16, and 1/8 oz). I keep my bucktail finesse jigs in small zip lock bags inside of tackle bags, one for the light weight (30 grain and 1/8 oz) and another for the heavier (1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 oz).

Yes they can be repaired. There is a inner wire with insulation, then a shielded mesh with another insulation.

It really makes a difference to me at night when feel is everything. That is why I only buy very few brands and mulitples of those.
