Daiwa Tatula CT "whirrrrrring" noise during retrieve
My first baitcaster 3 years ago was a tatula ct, that reel is now my wife's first baitcaster and there is no odd sound when reeling. That said i have no idea if the model has been changed in the last few years. If you can confirm its the same I'd return it. Upon further review as they say...i dug it out, it is the 8:1 and i compared it to my tatula sv's and it does indeed whine lol. Still works great but it has a noise for sure.

Opinions on G loomis NRX 852s JWR
I have the glx 852s, fantastic rod. Also have a 873crr nrx. No issues with fg knot going through the guides.

New finesse rig ready to go!
Always exciting getting new gear. Hope you catch some biggins!

Upgrading finesse set up, rod or reel first?
Rod 100%. Also my first very noticeable increase in sensitivity came simply from replacing straight mono which is all i had ever used growing up, with braid to a leader or straight braid depending on what you're doing.

Spinning reel wacky rig line set-ups for 2020
I've never used copoly so i can't comment. I use 10 or 15lb suffix 832 hi viz to better see line jumps to an 8lb fluoro leader and love it. I tried buying the best handling fluoro i could find and going straight fluoro and never will again. I feel braid handles much better and haven't had a single issue since i made the switch. On a side note my wife doesn't fish nearly as much as me so for her i spooled on the same braid to a mono leader so she could tie her same knot and she had no issues with line for the first time i can remember. No twists or line jumping off the reel.

$150-$190 Baitcaster
2020 tatula sv 103 gets my vote.

Medium Fast Tip Spinning Rod 6’8-7’1
In your price range i own the daiwa tatula lt 3000 size reel. I'm very happy with the reel and wouldn't hesitate to buy another. Also own the 7'1" tatula elite ags rod and it also was really nice until i slammed my van door on it last week.

Broke another rod.
At least you broke it on a hookset....i broke my first rod ever yesterday, tatula ags spinning shut in van door.... yeah pretty smart. Doubled down my recklessness and ordered a glx 852s to replace it.

Braid for medium/medium-light spinning application
10lb suffix 832 hi viz braid so you also see line jumps to further enhance bite detection to 8lb leader material of choice. I use fluoro for my spinning setup. When i switched to this from straight mono which is all i ever used it was a dramatic improvement. It also improves hookset from bomb casts since very little stretch. Also if and when you decode to upgrade, from my experience the rod is where id spend the money as long as your reel works well for you already.

How would you rank these higher end rods?
I own the poison adrena, expride, and 873crr. For moving baits and the tip you mentioned id go poison adrena. Texas rigs and jigs the 873. I'm selling my expride to a friend. Just my opinion on the rods ive used. Good luck

Jig Rod? Expride A, Dobyns Champion?
Bought one and it is indeed awesome. Also I'm aware ill be in the minority but i feel expride is overrated in its sensitivity. Every other thread people rave about it and i bought one for cheap. Selling it for a profit.

Spinning rod for wacky rigging
Absolutely, and i didn't intend to convince you to get a longer rod. Just wanted to share how i personally have changed from year 1 in a kayak to year 3. my wife inherited my 2 6'8" mojo bass rods and she loves them!

Spinning rod for wacky rigging
I too fish out of a kayak and my first rod better than a Wal-Mart combo was a 6'8" medium extra fast mojo bass. It worked well for that application. I've since learned for me that i prefer longer roofs even in the kayak (thought i had to use short rods) and now use the 7'1" tatula elite ags and really love it. Congrats on your new rod. Looks nice!

Your swim jig setups
Chronarch mgl 8:1, 7'3" mh regular fast poison adrena. Favorite swim jigs are 6th sense and dirty jigs.

Heavy/extra heavy rod
Let's say an ounce weight plus bait. I think ill stop over thinking this and buy a quality heavy rod around 7'2"-7'5" and try it out. Confident ill find a use for it lol. Thanks all for the feedback. Maybe it will come down to what rod within the few I'm narrowing it down to i get the best deal on.

Heavy/extra heavy rod
Read through a bunch of that thread... guess i didn't get far enough lol.
-
Heavy/extra heavy rod
I'm pretty set on at least heavy since I own a few medium heavy rods and no heavy or above. I'm still digging for reviews on the 7'2" heavy poison adrena.

Heavy/extra heavy rod
Thanks guys. Third year fishing from a kayak, haven't really noticed an issue with handle length but i have a sit on top that i can also stand on. I'll check the suggested models out.

San Diego Jam Knott vs. FG Knot ?
Resisted trying the fg. Minnesota's winters are long and one day I was watching fishing videos and decided to try it on some line I don't use. Watched a video by saltstrong on YouTube and tried it. First one held, second time didn't... tied it a few more times and been fishing with it since. I feel the complexity of the knot and time it takes is overblown. I just make my leader end right before the reel and that allows for plenty of lure changes.

What spinner/chatter bait rod should I buy
Only used it a few times but I bought a poison adrena 7'3" reg. Fast and I love it. That slightly softer tip feels better to me than the 7'2" mh fast expride I was using before for single hook moving baits.
-
Heavy/extra heavy rod
Yes i was scouring the internet for reviews about the 7'2" heavy poison adrena to no avail. I've only fished my 7'3" mh poison adrena a few times but i love how it feels. My friend suggests a7'3" xtra heavy expride as a crossover for these purposes but i don't think i need an extra heavy. Also wonder if that rod would have a soft enough tip. I'm still researching.
