  1. I am just excited for glide bait season, i.e. prespawn. I will go out all day throwing glides in the spring for that 1 bite. Sure, throw a spinnerbait for numbers but I just want that one. The right bite.
  2. Anyone see Takus baits on deck? Looked like a sea urchin and what looked like a skate or something on a weedless wacky hook?
  3. This one right here. I have wanted it for years....
  4. You mostly fish bodies of water you know, have had success on in the past, someone directed you there or you stumbled upon. A lot of the fish move slowly so you wait for schools to swim by - some days are better than others. With FFS and 360 they have been absolutely hammering them - drill down in an area and you can see all around you- count off the steps and drill a hole there. Drop your bait down = success. There used to be a lot of mystery to ice fishing and it was a lot of fun. I had so many fun days on the ice as a kid.
  5. It's a crime that bass can't seem to understand you put cameras in the top guys but also, 5 or so fan favorites. Everyone wants to see GMan, Milliken and others...
  6. I am a coangler a lot - I use a tackle backpack that holds 2 3600 deep boxes in the bottom. In the top I put all my soft plastics for the day and other stuff. In the pockets I put all my necessities, pliers, etc. I organize the 3600 boxes from all my other tackle to throw what I need for the day. Every time I get in the boat it's a different assortment. I usually take 5 rods.
  7. They just did a drop on these baits. Usually they go for around 200.
  8. 5 out of the top 10 are rookies. Has this ever happened before?

  10. He lives on the lake. Did his boat break or something?
  11. Does everyone remember when Nascar was huge in the late 90's, early 2000's? Then technology started to ruin the sport...Nascar tried to reel it in and the sport has never recovered. I think professional bass fishing is on a similar trajectory.
  12. I big tackle backpack - even for bank trips I usually need 3 rods since 1 is always a swimbait setup for 2-6 oz baits.
  13. This thing is fun.
  14. I know guys that dropshot with ugly sticks.
  15. He's not sponsored by berkley so couldn't throw a Krej.
  16. It's been a few years since I had a calcutta apart but I remember a bushing in the reel housing but I remember 3 bearings on the spool shaft - 1 on each side of the spool and 1 by the spool tension. Maybe I am off, idk. But, removing those bearings, flushing them properly and lubricating them is always a good idea. Over time lubricants pick up debris and it lessens their ability to work well.
  17. Upgrading which bearing? The spool bearings? I haven't seen a bushing on a spool outside of 13 fishing in quite a while
  18. A lot of the swimbait guys do this - swimbaits have mostly moved to rotating hook hangers so you see this much less.
  19. I love ice fishing- when I was showing the technology to my dad, who doesn't ever fish for fun, his eyes lit up and he said, "imagine how many Perch and Crappie we could catch". When I was a kid we kept everything if it was legal.
  20. Imagine if this technology was available 35-40 years ago? I know my dad and grandfather would have filled many a bucket with fish. For me the biggest worry in this technology is once it is affordable and the bucket brigade acquires it - there will be no end with filling buckets using live bait. Bass fishermen are a very small concern since they release most of their catches and fish adapt to artificials.
  21. I thought this was a very interesting video... https://youtu.be/i0DSy-qQCzE?si=qlglGHzkwTfzb2px
  22. So many great suggestions here - lipless, swimjig it a chatterbait is my go to.
  23. The best one is the one made by boca bearing imo. I have 4 different tools and this is by far my favorite. It was pricey though.
  24. Comparing the MLF to BASS is silly. Every fish counts and by God it's easier to catch 5, 2 pounders than 1, 5 pounder. And those young 2 pound fish are more apt to hit different baits. It's comparing apples to oranges.
