Need to carry 4-6 rods, who has tried this?
I use the Rod Runner as well and this was the best thing I have found to carry rods for shore/dock fishing. Easy to take one rod out as needed and keeps the rod/tip/guides all off the ground so they don't get stepped on. Also really easy to strap in the back of a pickup and just drive to the lake. I now have two and my buddy has one because he liked how well mine worked. I have the one that holds 5, but took the bottom one off because it makes it unstable. After using them for three seasons I have done some modifications to them, but the base model works. I only use the tubes designed for spinning reels, but can also fit baitcasters in as well as I just turn them around and hook the trigger of the rod on the elastic retaining cord. I normally go with one other person and we have no problem carrying 6 rods. Four in the Rod Runner and one each that we are fishing with or just being carried, backpack for tackle and a large net in hand. I purchased from Amazon. They also stock extra parts unlike the other places that carry the Rod Runner. I would never carry rods for shore/dock fishing another way at this point.

New Shimano Stradic specs
Sounds like a nice upgrade to the old Ci4+, but I will miss the black. I wish the 1000 and 2500 would have the same drag system at the 3000 and above. I mostly wish that because I like the 1000 size more then larger reels.

They sure are! I have spent more then I should probably admit in the last few months. Normally all of that would be going to TW, but with no sales and 14 day shipping delay I have been finding may other sources (including MidwayUSA from the tip above!)

Which G. Loomis NRX Spinning Rod?
I have the NRX 822 DSR and really like it, but I wouldn't feel comfortable trowing Senkos with it. As said above the 822 is pretty soft. Hair jigs and small swimbaits, all day. I have the Conquest 902 and use it all the time for Senkos and have also used it for swimbaits. I don't DS on it, but would if I didn't have something else. I like the reel seat way more then the NRX, but dislike the hook keeper location. No experience with the 802 or 803.

Keitech question
Owner Weighted Twistlock 4/0 3/16oz fit the 3.8 perfect in my experience. Flashy Swimmers and great too, but I don't always want the blade.

Trailers?
I normally leave plastics on my hooks unless storing them for the winter. I do find rust from time to time. Keitechs seem to be the worst and then Zman products. Normally it will wipe off pretty easy or with a very minor sanding.

Aird x thoughts
I purchased a Medium Fast and a Medium-Light Fast spinning rod for my roommate to use. Both are 7 foot. They are good for the money. They are more moderate/mod-fast in my opinion, but for a $40-$50 rod I kind of expected that going in to it.

Best trailer for a chatterbox Jackhammer
Hog Farmer Spunk Shad for me. They might get cut up from pike, but normally last pretty long.

Shimano Curado DC 150 Gear Ratio
I would probably get a 7 for general purpose. Most of what I use are 8s though. I also find reeling slow on a 7 or 8 easier then having to burn a 6.

That is odd, not much is on sale now. I wonder if they "got in trouble" because I know some brands cant be lower then their MAP pricing so the might have had to end the sale on those items early. St Croix lays the hammer down all the time on "sales" at many places. They will, they already shipped my order. They often have 20% off sales on many items with MAP pricing in store (might still) and not always on their website. They probably just ended the online sale for Daiwa.

Shimano SLX DC issues
For it to work as you are expecting it (no backlash with no thumb whatsoever) you'll need to the the spool tension much higher then the instructions suggest. You want it so the lure/plug/whatever just stops moving if you push the button and then maybe a little more. Then you should be able to cast without backlash on #4. It needs to be reset to every lure/plug/whatever each time you put something new on. If you want to maximize distance as use it more as a normal baitcasting reel, set the tension to where it just eliminated side to side play and you will need need to use your thumb, but it makes casting without backlash less of a problem. Beyond that, the DC reels help you cast into the wind without backlash or skip as well. They do make teaching people how to cast a baitcaster easier for sure. If you are teaching somebody to not use their thumb, then that isn't really how you'd use a normal baitcaster. It is like crutch or training wheels persay for the learning process. I have tought three people how to use baitcasters with a DC reel now and it goes much quicker and smoother then starting without the DC feature. So ultimately if you want to cast and never use your thumb, a DC reel should do that, but it limits its distance potential and the usefulness for the reel in my opinion. Like said above about "slowing down before disaster strikes", that's pretty much how I see the DC reel doing their duty.

It must have adjusted it since this morning. Sometimes I am really good at finding the "problems" when things go live for sales ? I was only looking for a Legend Xtreme and they only had the older non-2020 in B stock so I didn't go much further then that. Looks like they still have a bunch of B stock rods available and the price is better then what I first saw so hopefully people are able to find a deal on what they are looking for.

Any one have duplicate set ups?
Well, unplanned but just ordered my second St Croix 2020 Legend Xtreme HF with a Shimano Bantam. I guess the second 852 will have to wait for a bit longer now.

20% off on B-Stock is pretty disappointing. I have gotten 20% off on new, full warranty St Croix rods several times this year. Including 5 minutes ago... Joe's Sporting Goods is having a Fathers Day Sale on select fishing items, including the St Croix 2020 Legend Xtreme I just purchased.

The St Croix Virtual Customer Appreciation Day email just went out and is live on their website. https://stcroixrodfactorystore.com/?mc_cid=2eb5e8ac8f&mc_eid=a3553ba3a8 Today only, get a Daiwa Revros reel with some of their spinning rods. Over the next few days they are selling B-Stock rods for 20% off. Getting a rod for 20% off but loosing the majority of the warranty isn't enough to get me to bite. I was hoping for at least 30%-40% off. ETA: their website is down right now from people overloading it.

Because of the latch you do loose about 1/4 inch of space on the one end vs the standard 3700, but to me the advantages negate to minor loss in capacity. I honestly don't think I would ever notice the capacity loss but I could see how some people might depending on what/how you store items in one.

Spinnerbaits
I had good luck with the River2Sea double willow blade model last year. I thought they discontinued the titanium ones. Are you still finding them somewhere? I looked last summer and nobody had them in stock, just stainless ones.
-
Why So Many
I have 4 when shore fishing because the rod carrier I use has that capacity. When on the boat I normally have 10-12, but that the limit because of space. I am also a gear junkie so I like have lots of options/stuff. I also like just picking up another rod to throw something else rather then retie so I pretty much have specialized combos.

Bait Caster for Finesse
I have been using a GLX 852C with a Curado 70 now for the last few weeks and I have really gotten to enjoy it more then using my spinning set ups. I will probably upgrade to a Aldebaran.

Choosing a spinning reel size.
I have a dozen or so spinning rigs I use off and on. Sienna, Sahara, Ultegra, Stradic and Stella reels. All are 1000s expect for one Sahara 2500. The 2500 almost always stays home too. I prefer the smaller size and lighter weigh. I only use 10lb braid mainline and don't feel like I have line issues or lack of line capacity for how/where I fish.

Tackle warehouse
On the TW website, it says what their current shipping delays are. They update it as things get better or worse. Last update was yesterday. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-SEASONSALE.html?from=basres

How would you rank these higher end rods?
I purchased the Conquest 843 and Legend Xtreme 7'1" MHXF this year and I think they will be great "all around" high end rods. I will be using them everything you said above except for the lipless, I just don't use those much. Unfortunately I have yet to use them this year and don't have a Xtasy to compare. I actually have never even seen or touched a Dobins rod of any make or model so I have no opinion at all on any of their products. I purchased a Conquest 903 last year and that was what caused me to get the 843 this year. The Xtremes seem to be hard to find right now. If you backorder one, it will probably bit out of stock for a bit with the plant being closed for a decent chunk of time over the last month or so. Conquests seem to be in stock online at a few places.
