Our home place was only 100 yards from Stoney creek and 1 mile from the Shenandoah river. We ate fish 3 or 4 nights a week in spring and summer months and that was my job.....to catch fish. It actually got me out of pulling weeds in the garden as long as I brought fish home. Lol Don't know the exact year but know for sure it was late 60's. It wasn't until my early 20's when I bought my 1st boat and became a serious bass. Let's just call it an even 50 years that I've been fishing.

Fish mainly clear mountain lakes and the bass are excellent to eat. I only keep a few but when I do, they go from boat to the wife's hands and then to the frying pan.

Big bass are like big whitetail bucks, hide in thick cover and move mainly at night. Along comes a potential mate, they get stupid. This theory is not limited to the animal kingdom though.

We have one very large lake that we fish that has literally several hundreds of docks. Having both fisherman of equal ability, the guy in front will pick up the most fish 99% of the time. I'm definitely not throwing trebles around docks. What we catch the most fish on are baits that skip the best and time and time again on this particular lake it's been wacky rigged Senko's and Zoom flukes.

After reading through all the posts I've come to the conclusion that we're all different.....imagine that. Lol Personalities vary drastically from person to person so couples learn to adapt or not. The ole say'n that opposites attract is false. We're both loners, both very independent, both quiet and non confrontational, both love dogs and Italian food and both eager to accomplish tasks. The only thing that sucks is she has never laughed at any of my jokes as she has ZERO sense of humor.
