  1. Make sure your pinion gear and related components are appropriately seated. Also be careful when reassembling as the little springs like to tip over.
  2. They made a pink version of the Trick Worm which has produced for me like nothing else.
  3. Sometimes ppl say this before farting ... buts its been a while ... hope all is well, Glenn
  4. In my experience, for anything up to a 6XD, a 6 gear reeled in at a moderately fast pace helps the lure hit bottom fastest. A 5 gear will help get it down there with less resistance but IMO that really isnt needed with modern crankbaits/reels until you get into the ultra deep divers. If with your question you are referring to max depth, i dont believe an average cast gives enough distance for gear ratio to make a difference in overall depth. Gear ratio may help get it down quicker and keep it there longer, but line diameter will probably be the biggest factor in terms of maximum depth achieved. 5 gear ratio reels also seem to transmit feel better ... not sure how else to describe this but i definitely feel like i get more feedback out of a 5 gear reel which i actually prefer when fishing cover.
  5. What low profile baitcasters are made here regardless of quality??? Does Ardent still have some models?
  6. Yeah definitely an awesome deal! Thinking about picking up the other $24 set on Amazon.
  7. This is a good deal that they put up often with different colors. Ive suspected that they may be factory seconds due minor issues ive had (poor paint in some areas, eyes falling off) on about 1/10 of them, but in either case, they are great and do catch fish. Youll enjoy them!
  8. For up to 6XDs, the Curado K even at 6.3:1 is gonna be tough to beat. Whats the issue youre currently having? A 6XD or similar diver shouldnt offer too much resistance for most 6.3:1 reels. Its when you step up to 10XD that you really need that additional power.
  9. I had standard 7" freshwater rapalas that lasted forever. Recently picked up Shimano Brutas to be eligible for free shipping. The finish on the Shimanos is terrible and i dont expect them to last long.
  10. I would begin by checking with Daiwa. Daiwa USA has good customer service and they may be willing to work with you. When dealing with non-high end rods, sometimes rod companies will send you a replacement rod which will reduce downtime. In either case, I think first step is to talk to them.
  11. What i linked is good ol US of A
  12. At the lake I fish typically spawn in late Feb/early March and then again around mid to late July. The second spawn on average is smaller fish than the ones that spawned earlier.
  13. Y'all inspired me to make a purchase lets see how they do!
  14. best bet is to spend enough to get the gear free ... other than that, no discounts i know of
  15. I set it by feel also and assumed i was around 40-50%. Just tested and came in at 25%
  16. http://www.springcreekprams.com/8-stillwater-classic.html A little pricey but at 60lbs its a good one-man car topper that appears to be extremely stable.
  17. Same here ... i reached out to Duroboat and after a conversation they told me I may be better off purchasing a used jon boat as it would be much cheaper ... sadly not many are for sale and the ones that are are outrageously priced or dont have a title
  18. If you insist on that type of backpack, the academy one would be my choice as its very well designed https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/h2o-xpress™-tackle-pack#repChildCatid=995812
  19. Standard trick worms trimmed to 4". Something about that thicker profile is deadly.
  20. I finally found a copy of Knowing Bass, 2 chapters in ... i cant say i understand the hype. Hopefully it will get better from here
  21. My experience with summer squarebills is im either cleaning dead weeds off on every cast or not catching fish with them
  22. not sure on the reel but thats a zebco lady spincast rod
  23. I went with a fly fishing backpack https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MG2OJQL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I purchased at $22 ... seems way higher priced now. Anyhow I prefer this style if im going to be wearing it while casting as the ones that have the boxes sit flat feel too bulky.
  24. Why is it a POS? Issues with the reel? rod? More detail on the issue your trying to solve would be helpful. If its a casting issue it might be best to begin on a spincast combo
